Best Gould's in Memphis!! Megan does fantastic color, and Chad cut my hair today and it looks so good!!!! I have really thick hair, and lots of stylists don't know what do do with it. However, Chad cut, sculpted, and layered it beautifully! My hair looks so much healthier, and I still got to keep my length. 10/10 reccommend!!!💜💜💜 Below are before and after😜

I like this location probably the best of the ones I've been to. Chad at this location is my favourite stylist at Gould's. He is familiar with my hair type, and offers me suggestions others have not such as blending my grays which I have liked the results of evens though I have been resistant to dying my hair in the past.

If I could give zero stars I would. My pedicure was the most terrible service I have ever received in my life of getting pedicures. Nothing she did was thorough or felt complete. She did not clip my cuticles properly or scrub my feet properly. She literally scrubbed my feet lightly on both sides maybe for 3 seconds. She did not clean under my toenails, she did it lightly. My nails were not filed to be smooth or the same shape. An hour of my time was wasted just for me to walk out of the salon with no polish on my feet because I was not pleased with the service. When I mentioned to her about clipping my cuticles more, she told me I didn’t need it. I haven’t had a pedicure in about 2-3 months so I’m sure it needed to be done. When I told her my toe nail wasn’t even she said it was because I had a lot of build up, which was an excuse! Because clearly she didn’t get all of the build up or file my nail correctly. There was a client next to me who received top tier service and her toes were filed, clipped cuticles and scrubbed properly. This was my first time here and it was enough to make me wish I would have went somewhere else. I’m definitely not pleased with the services I received. $50 wasted.

Update on this post> I also wanted to show her attempt at face framing. I honestly think she did this on purpose. She angled the scissors and did the cut for face framing then she stopped and didnt look at the total picture she created she didnt blend it with the rest of my hair. She just cut downward at an angle once on each side and took my cape off. Im getting more irritated by the day. Im calling corporate today as the owner asked me to do. Original post: ihave clip in extensions. I went in to get them cut about 1/2". I had an anxiety ridden gen z stylist who became anxious when I explained I needed 1/2" off. She blurted out(in that genz way of speaking)"um yaaa I would absolutely recommend going to a place that specializes in extensions. I can try but it might not be perfect " what? It's hair. Just cut it like you cut any hair. So here is the outcome. Can she not cut in a straight line? I was in her chair 3 min. $40. See photo. This is the second bad experience I've had here. I won't be back

Chad is the absolute best! I have very thick, long, Middle Eastern hair. I often don’t trust people with my hair but I was really looking for a change and booked impulsively. Chad asked all the right questions to understand what look I really wanted, gave tips on both washing/styling, and did my cut beautifully! You can tell her really takes the time and effort to get the look done the way you want it. Really happy I found him and will be back to see him again very soon!

DO NOT LET KIM CUT YOUR HAIR My first experience donating my hair and Kim ruined it, first she cut way more hair than 12 inches I specifically choose 12-14 inches my mistake for not asking her if those were 12 inches but she did about 16-18 inches and once I look at my hair it was very short and I said to my self that it was ok my hair is going to grow back I told her please just leave it straight I just asked for that once she was cutting she has the audacity to say “Oh hold on I messed up” Meaning she cut my hair way up and then she leaves comes back and again cuts my hair more and SHE SAID “OH THIS IS NOT GOING TO WORK “ And leaves again I was shock on what was going on Once she came back I told her please don’t cut the length anymore leave it the longer you can She said “That’s what I’m trying to do” I didn’t say anything Once she finished I had my hair in the back and I put it to the front and one side was longer than the other one I WAS LIKE WHAT??? I told why is it like that She said is just a hair it’s ok noooooo it was not just a hair it was the whole piece of hair She cut it and she said ok you’re good to go I just wanted to leave at that moment I said thank you, smile and left She did not cut it straight it’s so horrible and I’m so disappointed

I had to make a last minute appointment because my appointment at another salon fell through and they got me in and I was blessed with Maddy. I have had bad experiences twice before trying to get what I want but Maddy blew away my expectations! I am so in love with my hair! Mandy done an amazing job. (My hair was a dark brown for reference) I showed Maddy a picture of what I was going for and she executed it perfectly! Highly recommend!

Made a same day appointment for a mani & pedi. I only had a short wait upon arrival, everyone was kind, and my nails looked great. Simple mani & pedi cost $75 + tip. Please start offering beverage services!

I cannot recommend Leanne highly enough! I’ve been getting a full head of blonde highlights since I was 16 years old, so I have about 20 years worth of experience getting my hair done by (mostly) fantastic stylists in major metros, small towns, and everything in between…And Leanne is one of the most talented colorists I’ve ever seen. She is so talented, experienced, and has great vision/intuition — AND has the skills to match. So pleased with my color, and we’ve done something a little different with my color each time I’ve seen her, and I’ve loved it every time. Leanne is also super easy to talk to, I love being in her chair and chatting with her. Basically everything I’d consider to be a home run in a stylist! She was new to the salon when I booked with her, because I needed my hair done at the last minute, so I was booking with whoever was going to be available, and I was nervous entrusting my color to someone new (I’ve had experiences in the past that left my hair either disappointing, damaged, or both). Luckily I had no need to worry, I found my new go-to stylist! Highly recommend Leanne to anyone looking for a stylist, and recommend this Goulds location as well — it’s clean, calm, modern, and everyone is super friendly. Going to include a couple of pictures of color that Leanne has done for me at my last two appointments, to show off some of her beautiful colorist work. Thank you Leanne! See you next time!

If you plan on booking an appointment here, I highly recommend booking with Chad. He is so talented, not to mention he gives the best shampoo’s out of any hair stylist I’ve been to before. I had a baby 4 months ago and my hair has gone through some drastic changes in these last 4 months. I have been to Chad twice now for a haircut and left both times feeling more confident and so satisfied with my hair. 10/10 experience every single time!

I booked my appointment last minute and went to the first available stylist and was lucky to sit in Chad’s chair! He is new to Memphis and did a fantastic cut. He educated me on my hair type and provided so many helpful tips and tricks! It’s hard to find somebody that knows how to cut/style textured hair and he did amazing.

First I want to say it's a whole vibe in Chad's chair.. He made me feel so welcome beginning to end. Very pleased with haircut by Megan. She cut it last time so I asked for appt with her again. She is a delight to talk with while she snips and clips. When done it was just what I asked for. Easy to make appt - appreciated text reminder- very short wait when I arrived a bit early.

Honestly I have never had a problem with this location until today. I got partial highlights just a “money piece” and a blowout it took from 11am until 4pm to do. When it was time for him to blow out my hair he had no clue what he was doing. I have curly kinky hair but for yall to tell me this gentlemen has experience with my hair type is crazy. The color on my hair looks absolutely stunning but the blowout was a no. Respectfully don’t do blowouts if you don’t know how to do them.

Took my daughter with two tone color, old color growing out, wanted the color for one color hair. Paid $80 3 hours in the chair for no difference! Still two tones light on top, dark on bottom. Wasted money & time!

I booked a mani pedi for my husband and myself on his birthday and we arrived at 240pm. Appt scheduled for 245. We checked in and were told to have a seat. Well no one ever came to get ME for my service. After his pedi was over (apprx 350pm)the lady asked if I wanted to go sit with him while he gets a manicure. I said I would have liked to get the service that I have been sitting here for....The front desk people look at me stange and ask if I checked in upon arrival; well yeah. You all checked me in. And then I was told sorry my time frame was up so sorry.

I go to this Gould's regularly. Amazing massages from Ronnie and nail services by Renita. Both are top in their game! One suggestion to Gould's owners...have you ever thought of leasing out that large corner spot at Poplar Plaza where the record store used to be? The current location is small and in need of renovation. The "mural" that was painted near the hair dryers last year is terrible...it looks like a cactus, a wig, and a Band-Aid. You could really make a lovely day spa in that corner space. Just saying:)

I went to Gould’s today for my birthday and received a massage by Mr. Ronnie and I literally felt all the tension and pain melt away from my body after my massage. He made my body feel brand new. I will definitely be back to see him again! I also received a facial from Geneva. She is such a sweet and talented young lady. She made my face glow on my special day. Thanks Goulds!
