THE BOSS JACKIE IS HORRIBLE SHE WANTED WASH MY HAIR. SHE TOLD ME ONE PRICE AND THEN CHANGE IT WHEN SHE PULLED AGGRESSIVELY ON MY HAIR. ZERO STAR!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND HER OR HER STAFF. HER STAFF IS RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL.

The old management is back! To those that have been using this salon and affected by the new awful management, the salon got the old management back. All of the veterans hair stylist are back.

I’ve been going to Grace salon since I was a child, they have the best hospitality, organized, super accommodating and very in tune with the community. They give the best blow outs for decent prices and even do requested hairstyles! Customers are always treated with great respect and they value all of their customers. They did have new management at one point but the original management is back! Definitely come here or come back if you’ve been here before!

updated review as this place have completely falling off since new management, I’ve been going here for over 5 year originally rated 5 stars now it does not deserve 1 star. Today I went in for a wash & set the new management told me they changed policy 5 months ago when I was there June 29th,2024 with a video that’s dated as they tried to tell me for my exact hair which a video was shown price was about $30 more when I had paid $50 for a wash & set June 29th it’s August 20th, then with all the changes they are now unorganized no order & they clearly losing long term clients as last time I was there other people were complaining & this place usually was always crowded each seat was occupied under dryers now they barely have customers and I see why! Not worth it at all shop is now run down no upgrades to match the price or new management policies so many other options here in New York thank god I’ll be returning!!

I have been going to this salon for 20 years and have never had a problem until now. The new owner is very disrespectful and they raised the wash and set prices.

I thought they were good at first. My hair was growing nicely touching my back. After a year with them, my hair started breaking off because they hair washing woman would vigorously comb my hair WHILE IT WAS WET! Wet hair, especially black hair is at its weakest when it’s wet. Every time…..I kept telling her not to comb my wet hair. My “bangs” used to come under my chin. A year later, my hair is hardly touching my nose and my hair now has split ends and is broken off. I was so mortified when I looked at pics of my hair from the previous year before I started going to them. They flat iron very well and get my roots super straight but if I ever go back I would ALWAYS wash my hair myself. For now, I went back to my original salon and stylist who burns me sometimes with the flat iron but at least she keeps my hair growing, doesn’t charge me a different price every time I go or talk about me in Spanish.

The lady that’s the head of the shop she’s really not friendly and some of the staff is not friendly. That’s why I never show up I was there before and every time I go it’s a different price.

Extremely racist and rude staff. They kept complaining that my hair was getting too thick as it was being washed and snidely told me that my hair wouldn't be the standard price because it was too unmanageable. My hair came out awfully greasy and gross - never had this experience with a blowout - so I washed it out the day after. I can't believe people patronize this place.

I went there with my friend. And it seemed nice. My friend got a hair cut, her hair washed and blow dried. I guess my suggestion for everybody would be to wash their hair at home if they want to cut down on cost.

My granddaughter went there for her birthday. It was a present from her dad she had a horrible experience she's biracial her hair is thick so the entire time they were doing her hair they talking about her hair is too black whatever that means they were talking in Spanish but my granddaughter understood everything they were saying so sad that supposed professionals acting like mean girls. What was to be a great day for her birthday was tainted by unprofessional people. I have never left a negative review before but they hurt my granddaughters feelings. I don't want anyone to experience this

Went here a couple of times . After that my hair started to change textures . They put something in my hair to make my hair get nappy and tanged and make my hair come out due to my natural non permed 4c hair . I had nice long thick hair before coming in that salon now that’s all gone . Don’t go here ! Horrible choice !

I spoke to a hair stylist a day before inquiring about a wash and set for my biracial 4B hair textured daughter. I told her I just wanted my daughter to get a wash and set and the slipped a relaxer in her conditioner! When I washed out her she had 2 bald spots in the front of her scalp. I just took her to another salon and confirmed relaxer was used. My daughter had to get half her long thick hair cut because all the damage those chemicals caused without a neutralizer shampoo. I will make it my business to let everyone know never to patronize here. If they don’t like doing African American or thick hair textures just say that don’t be sneaky. she will be going to a black owned natural hair salon moving forward.

They do great hair but the only problem I have with them is each time I go. There's a different price each visit. They need to be more consistent with their prices.
