Came in for a cut, it had been a long time and I knew I had a challenge for the stylist. Met Jeff and he was not at all scared about the challenge, he asked several questions to be sure what I wanted. We had a great conversation and he was working away at my hair when the female manager arrived (he was the only one there when I came in at about 10am). At this point there was a problem: the manager called across the salon to Jeff about an issue she had with his station. He asked her if they could talk about it after we were done but she approached us and continued to repeat her complaints to him. He apologized to me and again asked her if the discussion could be continued after my cut was done but she repeated everything a few more times right in front of me (sitting in the chair)! Whatever it was she was complaining about, something with his station, didn't seem to be anything urgent so it was very weird. Jeff apologized again and he wrapped up my cut, which I was REALLY happy with. It was a very upsetting experience and I would definitely not go in again if I knew the manager was going to be there. Not sure what this was all about but I would highly recommend Jeff (FIVE stars for him!) to anyone if you can get in his chair

Customer service from one of the female barbers was HORRIBLE! I have an undercut which is typically a quick cut. You would've thought I asked for much more. No conversation, no thank you have a great day, no happy holidays! Nothing! Only my second time going here & I will not be back.

Textured Hair Clients, BEWARE! On the mid-morning of 30 November 2024, I entered the Caroline Street location to receive my customary 8-10 week hair trim. (Please note, when I first visited this salon during the summer of 2023, with my hair in it's natural, wavy/bushy state, a stylist suggested that I blow dry my hair for a more precise trim. I adhered to the suggestion from that day.) I was greeted by a stylist I had never seen. I told her I completed the on-line check-in and desired to get my hair trimmed. The stylist grimaced, as she looked at my hair and asked, "Is that your hair?" I responded, "Yes, this is my hair." The stylist proceeded to inquire, "Have you gotten your hair cut here before?" I responded, "I have--several times." The stylist continued with the interrogation, by inquiring, "Who cut your hair?" Although I was vexed, I answered, "The manager trimmed my hair during my last visit." The stylist retorted, "I cannot use scissors on your hair because it is an afro and your hair needs to be straighter." My hair is not an afro and I do not argue with foolish people, so I left the salon. I entered my car and immediately telephoned Customer Service to report the demeaning experience in the salon. The representative recorded my feedback and assured me that the owner would contact me. The owner did telephone me and left a message for me to contact him. I called him twice and left messages for return calls. At the time of this posting, there has been no owner communication with me concerning this incident. The stylist 's response was hostile, unprofessional, discriminatory and unconscionable. To exacerbate matters, the stylist was African American (just like me). If she were uncomfortable trimming my hair or did not have the mastered skills to trim my hair, she could have made a recommendation for another stylist. This salon definitely violated the Great Care Promise of the "commitment to maintaining a salon environment that is as safe and comfortable as possible for everyone."

I got a great cut here (not at all like what's in my profile picture.) the stylist listened to what I wanted, asked a couple of questions, and it came out perfect.

This an Easy 4 STARS. Totally undeserving of their 2-3 *. Fine effective speedy comfortable haircut establishment @ Edgewood. Been coming here monthly for almost a yr. Always clean & comfortable while waiting; 5 min at most on weekends. They keep track & record your preferences online, Lena always double checks with u before the cut.

Walked in with my 14 month old, and they were able to take him right away. With his previous haircut the barber at a different salon wouldn’t put clipper to him regardless of us explaining that he was very good with hairs cuts. I was so happy that the gentleman that cut his hair here not only listened to me, but believed me! He didn’t hesitate to grab the clippers after speaking with me. My son was a huge fan of his and as soon as the cut was over reached up for the barber to hold him, which he also didn’t hesitate to do. Haha Haircut was great! 10/10 will be back.

Worst place to get a simple haircut. My hairdresser just started chopping away and made my hair super short, choppy and uneven. All I asked for is shoulder length and light layers. I literally can’t even get it fixed. This is so unprofessional. My hairdresser had red hair please stay away from her. Please read these reviews before you let her touch your hair. I want a refund!

I was a "walk-in." The barber was able to work me in between appointments. I only had to wait 30 minutes. She did a great job with the cut. However, she suggested that clarifying shampoo would remove semi-permanent hair color. It didn't work and a ploy for a sale. I didn't like that. The individual workstation was clean of hair, but you could see a layer of dust on the floor of unoccupied workstations, under the front counter, on products, product displays, and perimeter of the sitting area. A thorough cleaning twice a month would help.

If I could leave zero stars I would. I specifically asked NOT TO CUT ANY LENGTH and I left the salon with more than half of my length missing and on top of that, a haircut I did not ask for. I asked for a trim and to please not cut my length as I’ve been struggling to grown my hair out and she cut it anyways. I asked for a trim and this lady with red hair gave me thick choppy bangs and uneven layers, my hair is textured type 2c curls and she cut my hair as if it was straight. Why do my bangs reach my ears now?? Like it’s almost like you WANT me to look bad. Never coming here again and urging anyone curious enough to come by not to. I mean just look at the reference and look at the result. I spent more on trying to fix this than the actual hairstyle itself.

The lady that cut my hair was nice but she didn’t listen to me or follow the reference photos I showed her at all. I’m a young woman with short hair so I’m always really nervous to get my hair cut because I know I’ll end up with an old lady haircut and be heartbroken, and that’s basically what happened. The haircut she gave me was ok, like it doesn’t look awful, it just looks bad for me and again wasn’t what I asked for at all. Would look better on somebody a lot older. I wanted a “wolfcut” and she gave me a really short boxy kinda pixie that makes the shape of my head look really weird. Took off all the length I told her to keep and cut my bangs way short after I told her I want them left alone. Months of trying to grow my hair out for a certain haircut wasted and now I’m gonna be stuck wearing hats for who knows how long… it’s Great Clips so I wasn’t trying to have too many standards but I’m pretty sad about it now. :/ I’m honestly crying while writing this, it was hard telling her I liked it when I really didn’t…
