Not satisfied at all with my haircut, I realize it once I got home and inspected at the mirror, not as I have requested, seems that even explaining how I wanted with straight sides cut,at the same high, it was a total reck, one side higher than the other one, I will never go back to great Clips neither recomend my friends to go. Big mistake to have had my haircut at this place.

Some of the stylists go quick and won't cut your hair evenly. Parking might be tight since there are plenty of other business around. I would recommend going elsewhere this place has failed me a few times.

Absolute worst hair cut I’ve ever received. I blame myself for trusting them. I had hair down to my bottom and wanted 3 inches off….lost 7in. I even showed her a picture of the long layers I wanted, and she was confident in her ability. I wish she would have just said no. I asked for long layers and was left with choppy one length hair where the top layers are longer than the bottom. I even told her I didn’t like it when she was done. Proceeds to grab the top half of my hair and chop at the whole chunk trying to “even it out”. I’m so upset. Not sure how a basic cut could go so wrong.

I have changed my review from -5 stars to 10 stars. I went back to this location and thank God I had my hair cut by Erika. I went to this location and 4 other great clips locations and all of the hair dressers were terrible and should NOT be cutting hair. So if you were disappointed at this location Erika is the girl to have cut your hair and I will only be letting her cut my hair in the future. Thank you ERIKA!! She deserves a raise and big tips because it's rare to find a good hair stylist in Austin.

Went to GC @ Mueller today and had Vette cut my hair. Actually asked for her because she had cut my husband's hair yesterday and he was pleased with his cut. I'd been looking for a new go-to person to cut my hair, as I had used the GC Arboretum for the last few years and they had closed up awhile ago. Tried a few other GC locations, but they were just okay. Vette was personable, listened to what I wanted, knew what she was doing, and did a great job. I will be back to see her, as will my husband, so I hope she stays at this location!!

Absolutely avoid the asian lady with red hair. I didn’t have the heart to tell her in person but she messed up my cut. I always get a 1 on the sides with a high fade and a little off the top. She didn’t blend in my hair and it looks like I have a wig on at the top. I always got good cuts from other stylists at this location. This is the first time I’m ever having to wear a hat to cover my hair, in embarrassment. I wish I had seen the negative reviews on her beforehand

Avoid the petite Asian lady (with red short curly hair) at all costs - she had no idea what she was doing. I had a middle part and asked her to just trim the ends by an inch.. ended up getting 4-5 inches off on the right side with 1-2 inches off on the left side. Now I got one side of my hair standing up because it’s way too short. Imagine a hair that’s spiky on one side and hair laying flat on the other. She just said “oh put more water, it’s sticking up” while proceeding to put gel in my hair without asking. Terrible services, left with all the hairs on my face. And she didn’t bother to even blow dry some of the hair off my neck. Never had issue going to this location, and I still believe the other barbers are at least decent.. but this lady though.. please please do not have her cut your hair. Absolute nightmare and a mess.

Worst haircut ever. Dont go here unless you just want your head shaved. And if you want your head shaved, just buy some electric clippers. Just an around terrible experience. My "stylist" didnt speak english very well, so in the end I gave up trying to tell her that she was mangling my hair. I had to go to Birds afterward to have them try to fix it. They did what they could.

1st time customer and will not be going back. I'm searching for a good place since my normal guy I've seen for years passed away. This was closest to me. Lady was very rude. I asked for a trim to get rid of my split ends. She rudley asked me to show her where are my split ends and how short I want it. During the cut I still noticed split so I told her she can go shorter to make sure to get all split ends. She said no I got most of them....paid $35 & left with split ends. Had my 13yr.old daughter with me and she was next but my own daughter was like no nevermind....

I don't usually put out negative reviews but please heed the negative reviews about the older petite asian lady. I decided to give her a go at least once rather than . She really does not have any technique using scissors or really understand what she's doing. My hair very uneven, include a deep short cut on the side. I spent another 30+ min at home trying to even things out a bit. Thankfully just hair that will grow back out.

I have long, thick hair and got the best cut from Erika! She did layers and face framing for me and I absolutely love how it came out. Definitely recommend going to see her!

Beware! Neck trim bait-and-switch. I asked for a neck trim, which is $6. I was very clear that all I wanted was a neck trim. They offered to trim around the ears without telling me that this would result in them charging me for a full $21 haircut, and I only found out at the register that I would be charged full price. You also tip before you see your total for the service which is very strange as well. I tried to complain (very nicely) to the manager about this issue but they would not comp me the difference between the haircut and the neck trim. I would not go to this location ever again.

May 2022: Brittany was great!! Very nice and friendly and did a great job on my hair. 6/5/23 update: the woman that cut my hair seemed like she doesn’t know what she was doing. The other woman that was there had to help her and even then, my hair is now lopsided, about an inch longer on one side..

Truly horrible - as soon as my hairdresser made her first cut I could tell she had no idea what she was doing. The lady trimmed the top of my head in 3-4 massive cuts and didn't even check once to see if it was even. My wife (who is wonderful) is currently fixing it. Do not go here.

The skills of the hair stylists here vary widely. I cannot stress how important it is to get sat in the right chair. The 51st st location is right by my house so I’ve been several times, usually for a last min cut and “fade.” They don’t really have the right tools to do a real fade but Lanette, today, did a great job. Everyone here is nice, the customer service is always great. Talent is hit or miss. I’m horrible with names, but the older short Asian lady has no clue what she’s doing (I’ve cut my hair better myself during the pandemic), avoid her at all costs - it’s sooooo comically bad y’all. And if you don’t laugh during a traumatic hair cut, prepare to cry. Thankfully Lanette saved the day today. Lavette (I think that’s it, lol sorry - horrible with remembering names), THANK YOU! Also (again horrible with names) but the younger bubbly fun young white woman with the colorful hair gives a consistently good haircut. I’ll wait for her if she’s in. She’s awesome! The younger skinny girl with the long dark hair, she’s mid. Not worth the trouble, I think she just needs more tools and practice. The straight guys that come in prob just think she’s cute and live with the lack luster haircut. Her work station is pretty empty. Hopefully great clips helps them get the tools they need. With as many guys that come here. They should do a little training on how to do a fade. I’ve had 4 people here cut my hair. I know, “it’s just Great Clips, what do you expect?” Well, I expect to get a normal-ish fade and an even trim. Not asking for the latest trend - just a good haircut. Some of the stylists here are amazing so I wouldn’t sleep on this place. I know who I’m going to, just not taking anymore chances moving forward.
