Went in for a haircut. My wait was short. I sat down and explained what I wanted. Layered and a neat cut. The stylist said that she understood. Well....I didn't see it entirely until I got home. Uneven in the back. A chunk is missing in one area. A friend asked if she was a newly licensed stylist because she didn't know how to give a tapered layered cut. I'm very disappointed. She was more interested in talking about eating cake than maybe making sure that at least the back was cut even.

Hit a short wait time mid-afternoon. Male stylist was pleasant conversationist. We talked famous music artists and their personalities. Senior discount allows me to leave a higher tip, usually $4-5.

In the past couple of years, I have been using this one for my hair cut. I never choose my preference thinking all of those should be well trained till yesterday when I ended up with a very uneven hair cut by a new lady I never used before. Be careful using the new faces

After trying to cut my own hair. I went in to get my ends evened up and asked for a few long layers. When I got home, dried and straightened it. It was more uneven than it was before I went in there. The left side is longer than the right side and there are uneven choppy pieces along the ends. I even tipped her $15. Very disappointed!

I forgot to ask the name of the girl who just cut my hair, which I regret. She was so fast and precise while still making small talk and joking I was in and out the door within what felt like just a few minutes. Great service and worth the visit.

I was unfortunate to have gotten the same woman twice in a row. Felt like I must have been speaking a foreign language as my simple directive to have back cut straight across at ear level and the lower back trimmed close to head was ignored and I now have one of the worst cuts I've ever had to grow out before it can be repaired. Sooo disappointed.

Shane and Mark, I’m leaving this review about Susan, one of your hair stylists. I’ve been going to great clips for 15 years and she was the first stylist who looked me in the eye, introduced herself and welcomed me to great clips. I thought she was new but she had been cutting hair for four years! And she gave me a great hair cut too. She is a valuable employee! Thank you Susan.

They could obviously care less about their online checkin system. I may as well have walked in off the street. I was sent a notice by text saying they would be ready in about 15 minutes, then I arrived 13 minutes later to find my son and I were 5 & 6 deep on their wait list. When I asked about it, an employee said it had happened because another employee had “checked out.” I didn’t ask but I wondered if the employee had simply quit or if they were just haphazardly allowing the break/shift schedule to impact customers like this. No one apologized or acknowledged that this was not their usual way of doing business. So, I suspect it is, which likely explains why it was so normal for them to not care. They just told me and my son to have a seat and wait, like we’d just walked in off the street. They did get to us after a 20 minute wait, which I’m sure they were satisfied with. If I’d actually walked in off the street, I would’ve been, too. The reality, though, is that their online checkin had led me to expect them to be ready when I got there. I realize things happen, like human issues with employees. I also know that owning a franchise perhaps means the owner sometimes has to accept using technology they themselves don’t like. HOWEVER, great businesses, even good ones, understand the need to meet the expectations they create for their customers. You can’t have the benefit of the franchise name and not do the leg work (as in not liking and using the online booking system properly). If your customers expect that, then do it like the other Great Clips do, or just don’t buy and try to use their name and marketing! Of course, it could be a bigger issue with Great Clips at the corporate level. They’re seemingly TRYING to turn themselves into Sport Clips, likely to justify upping their prices in order to take a bit more of the higher-scale market share. If so, they should please head this warning - STOP. You’re trying to do too much. As my granny once said, you can’t make a silk purse from a sow’s ear! Moreover, people on limited budgets also still need a good place to get a decent haircut. Own it. It’s ok to keep being the theater without the recliners! Just don’t offer recliners and then make people sit in the normal chairs and expect that to be ok. It isn’t.

I've gotten two haircuts there, and both times have been great. They're friendly and manage to make my hair look good (which isn't easy, believe me). I appreciate their professionalism!
