Well,where do I start.im so ticked right now that I can hardly think how to write this review.i brought my sister to the great clips here on Hillsborough avenue,in the Publix plaza My sister is in a wheelchair.So I was pushing her in the door to get her hair cut.One of the male employees ( black male)started to step away from his station to come and help us get into great clips ,the black lady that is currently there,put her hand in front in front of him and told him no no no when she seen he was trying to help us.Now before anyone wants to turn this into a racial thing, because I mentioned the ethnicity of the people who are involved. Let me first say that I did that to let people know who this lady is. She is a black lady. But that doesn't mean anything to me, because my husband is black, my children are black, my grandchildren are black, my great-grandchildren are black. So her being black has no significance with me. As far as I'm concerned she's ignorant. This happened on January 30th 2025 between 5:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. at the Great clips on West Hillsborough avenue in the Publix plaza. Hopefully someone who was an authority at the Great clips corporation will read this and know exactly who I am talking about. that's why I'm giving time dates and ethnicity of this woman. Another thing she can't follow directions either. I showed her a picture of my sister's hair I told her to cut it in a bob, just like the picture says. Short. And she didn't cut it near short as I told her in the picture.Not only can she not follow instructions she has no capacity ,no feeling, no nothing when it comes to handicapped people. If she did ,she would let that man help us get in the door. OR better than that she could have to sit in the door. Frankly I didn't need any help getting my sister in the door ,I've been doing this for almost 4 years now. It's principle of the thing that she actually stopped that man from coming to help us get in the door.

One of the best hair salons in the neighborhood. The place, staff, and everything was good. My hair stylist, Herbert was very patient and he has done a great job. Thanks to the team. I would recommend this place to everyone. Thank you.🙂

For the title: BEWARE! Not Kid-Friendly – poor cutting job. Lacks Customer Service and Emotional Intelligence! If I could give zero stars, I would. Our experience with Herbert was extremely disappointing and not at all suited for children. I was there the entire time, playing cartoons and ensuring my son was calm and well-behaved—he did great. Even the female barber nearby complimented how well he behaved but then criticized other children who were less cooperative, which felt inappropriate. Kids are still learning, and a bit of patience, kindness, love and understanding should be expected. It was clear that they simply don’t like working with kids. Herbert’s attitude was unprofessional, sighing heavily, looking frustrated, and showing no interest in making my son comfortable. I stood there with him the entire time to make sure he was as still as possible and felt comfortable with me there. The haircut itself was poorly done, with uneven patches left uncut. Unlike other barbers who engage and interact, Herbert seemed completely uninterested in providing a good experience. If you’re looking for a welcoming, professional environment for your child, I would highly recommend choosing a different barber. There’s a clear lack of customer service and emotional intelligence here.

Great Staff, great store, nice and clean. Herbert does a very clean and meticulous job. He’s an upbeat, nice, courteous person who pays attention to detail & does a great job overall.

I usually don't give reviews but I feel it's necessary. The stylists are very friendly and welcoming but my hair was butchered. I tried everything to make it work. Products, blow drying and natural but nothing helped. I ended up having to go and get it fixed by another stylist who had to make it into a pixie cut because it was so bad. A nine dollar hair cut, ten dollar tip, product and the fix cut with tip turned out to be a eighty dollar endeavor. Extremely disappointed.

Updated 7.26.24: Faith did an absolutely fantastic job cutting my hair!! Cannot say how happy I am! Absolutely recommend her. Thank you SO MUCH Faith!! I also want to say GOODBYE to those boutique places that charge $$$ for a haircut and make you wait 2-4 months for an appointment!

Wow! Wow!! WOW!!! This was my first time at a Great Clips location and I was beyond impressed. I was warmly greeted by Faith, at the Hillsborough Plaza location. She patiently, kindly guided me through the process of checking in. I watched how the other 2 woman were attentively cutting their customers hair. Everyone so professional. The most notable was the interactions to the customers who walked in. Faith welcoming each with a smile! Yet, still being considerate of me - her customer. Showing me in detail how and why she was cutting. Softly turning my chair( not feeling like I was at a ride at the fair) lol some stylists just swing the chair around like a ride! Not Faith. I hope she is recognized for being an example of what a true professional hair stylist is. Also, noticed when the other 2 woman did not have customers they were actively disinfecting & sweeping. The place looks great!!! On that note of great, love love love the lighting in the waiting/lobby area. So peaceful! Please, make sure Faith is given the recognition she deserves!!

My barber was Herbert and he did absolutely amazing! He was quick and precise and very considerate and great recommendations on hairstyles! He was very gentle and smooth when he was cutting my hair to the point it felt like a message! Definitely coming back.

Faith blessed me with an AMAZING, relaxing, and well deserved shampoo on Tuesday morning. She was Pleasant, conversational, knowledgeable, and inviting (as was the rest of the staff)! I might have to return to this location every two weeks!!!

I've never been to great clips before and today I decided to go and get a hair trim. I had THE BEST experience! Faith cut my hair and she was absolutely amazing ✨ I will be coming back to get my hair trimmed again in 3 months 💗 Thank you so much for making this experience great!!

Jay is so so AMAZING!!! So great, talented, and a really beautiful person! She makes the grueling process of getting a 5 yr. old’s haircut seamless! You HAVE TO go see her! You will be thanking me later! Lol. Thank you Jay!!

Ladies were extremely sweet. Welcomed and treated me like old friends. Jay cut my hair exactly how I wanted it. She also showed me styling products used in my hair, explained how and why they would work for me. Jay didn't push the products only explaining their use, and I bought them for both reasons. Jay and the other lady working at the time(sorry didn't ask her name) were so nice and welcoming with myself and the gentleman there, I will only be having my haircut there. If they leave, I may have to follow them. Thank you ladies
