I hate to leave a negative review, but I was so shocked, especially since I read positive reviews before coming here. When I first arrived for my appt, I stood in front of Jolie at the register for 10 MINUTES before she acknowledged me! We were the only people in the shop. She was on her phone, and I assumed she was on an important video call and couldn't be interrupted. However, it began to feel very rude to not even look at me, especially when I realized she was watching comedy videos. I'd said "hello", moved around the shop, cleared my throat, looked at everything nearby me, wondering why she'd be ignoring me, and almost left. I finally interrupted her. She squeezed my hand, telling me I had booked for 90 mins, leading me back to the treatment room. I was surprised, because I thought I'd only booked a 60 min facial. I should have pulled up my receipt then (you have to pay at booking) to verify. She mentioned doing body work in additional to the facial and made it sound necessary, so I agreed. The space was not clean. There was literal junk strewn about both the front room of the business, and the treatment room. Empty bottles on the floor, crumpled items, things that looked broken and piled in the corners. I tried not to judge, but if she had the time to watch videos between clients, couldn't she tidy/remove trash?! The space wasn't calm. No music, no peaceful art, junk everywhere, and bright florescent lights with nothing to cover your eyes. Like getting a massage in an abandoned office. Even a white noise machine and silence would have been more peaceful. Even the discussion was stressful: difficulties of contractors, her religion, and being told why I should have children when I medically cannot. I'd been looking forward to coming here for a long time to relax and feel better, so I was extremely disappointed. The bodywork was decent, but we did not get to the "facial" until about 7:15pm (an hour after my treatment had started). My "facial" consisted of a bunched up wet cloth being pressed against my face for only a second; no cleansers, steam, washing, serums, etc. A few drops of a lubricating oil were drizzled on my cheeks before she applied the gua sha stone. The pressure was very aggressive and she rushed. She didn't use enough lubricant and pulled harshly at the dry skin on my face and neck. I have over a decade of gua sha experience and wanted to learn some new techniques from an "expert" but quickly realized that would not be happening. Half my face was skipped entirely. My "facial" lasted 11 minutes total, with about half that time fussing with the oil bottle. She'd made a show of opening a new box that contained two gua sha stones and a face oil, even though I already explained that I regularly practice gua sha and had a nice set at home. She also tried to talk me into a tea, detox patches, and a series of treatment packages. At one point during my massage (again, I came for a facial) customers came into the shop, and since it was empty, followed our voices back to my treatment room. Jolie had to leave to talk to them and sell a few items. It felt awkward laying undressed on the table under a bright florescent light when strangers were able to see me from the shop and the entrance door. Privacy did not seem a concern. At check out, I assumed I'd have to purchase the gua sha set she'd opened during my treatment, even though she never told me the price. I asked at checkout, and she said "$40" and that she'd charge me only for a 30 minute chair massage, what a great deal she was giving me, etc. The bill was $119 before tip, and I finally pulled up my digital receipt to clarify that I'd already paid $99 for the facial. She said this amount included that. I was frustrated and just wanted to get out of there, so I paid and left. My bill totaled $218+ tip for my "facial" plus unplanned bodywork. She insisted I write a review. I want small businesses to succeed, especially woman-owned, and was really hopeful about finding a good gua sha spa. But I have to be honest: a LOT of improvement is needed here.

I visited this massage center yesterday with high expectations, but unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. I could have got better massage for 165 + 15 tip which i paid in advance. I had booked a gua sha massage, hoping for a relaxing and rejuvenating session. However, the therapist kept dozing off throughout the massage, which made it difficult to enjoy the experience. It was clear that she was not fully attentive, as I could feel her hands becoming lighter and less focused. Additionally, the gua sha tool, which is supposed to be a key part of the treatment, was hardly used at all. When it was used, it felt more like a brief, half-hearted motion rather than the intentional, therapeutic strokes I was expecting. For a service that costs as much as this one, I was hoping for much more professionalism and attention to detail. Overall, this was not the relaxing, effective session I had hoped for. I won’t be returning or recommending this place to anyone. Also she tried selling me massage package and gua sha tool. She was not pushy but she tried. Looking at her age and sweet nature I couldn't share my disappointment to her

Highly recommend Jolie! I had ongoing pain in my knee, elbow and shoulder. Several friends recommended Jolie so I bought a package of four. Each session I felt improvement and I am pain free. Very thankful to have found her.

I initially went to see Jolie for a Gua Sha facial and by the end of the treatment I was buying a 4 session full body package. My face was glowing, all the puffiness from Thanksgiving was gone - I thought if these results are just from a facial I can’t wait to see what a 90 minute massage will do. One session in and I’m sleeping better, my shoulder pain has been significantly reduced, and feel better as a whole. Having been an acupuncturist in China Jolie is an expert on the human body and can identify current issues (stress, sleep, pain) by finding these pressure points and releasing tension. She also showed me pressure points to focus on when I’m stressed or can’t sleep. We have a miracle worker right here in Cary y’all - praise the Lord.

What a wonderful experience! Having gone through my first 90 massage treatment to relieve pain, I can honestly say that I haven’t felt this much relief in months! Jolie was ever so diligent and treated each pain point with care! I will definitely get some pain free sleep tonight! I highly recommend the Gua Sha Spa in Cary and Jolie!

Booked and appointment for a 90 minute holistic table massage with deep tissue and cupping, the cupping was fin but the rest was very meh, felt like she was falling asleep for half of it the way she would stop ever few seconds and then continue for another 5-10 seconds before stopping again, told her my main issue was my back and she only worked on it for about 10 mins, the rest of my massage time was her just grabbing my arms and legs through the blanket, no real massage techniques, she was just playing with the head on my hair for about 25 mins, was hoping to get some relief since I work 2 full time jobs but got the opposite and was ready for the massage to be over, I do not recommend

Jolie is incredible! I have had issues with my shoulder and hand pain since pre-covid now, I tried everything but nothing worked long term. Visiting Gua Sha Spa and having Jolie work on my body, has given my body such relief! She knows exactly what is the issue and works on it slowly to heal it completely. Thank you so much Jolie!

I can truly attest that Jolie is blessed with God’s healing powers and her treatments are legit. She has helped me improve my quality of life with the reflexology treatments over the past four years. I have experienced increased mobility and she has significantly helped me reduce inflammation and facilitated weight loss with the targeted therapy. I have also had candling treatments for improving sinuses and she has improved my breathing especially during allergy season. She was instrumental in my recovery from two Achilles (L and R) surgeries post COVID and I’m convinced is largely responsible for my quick recovery from those surgeries. She is a rare snd gifted practitioner in her craft and I would recommend as a current patient of her TCM methods. I am a frequent traveler to China but have not found a better practitioner of Gua Sha or Reflexology anywhere in the world. She has a gift and I am blessed that she is local. I would give her 6 stars if possible.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Jolie and the services she offers at Gua Sha Spa. I’ve had a chair massage, as well as a meridian body massage and facial gua sha treatment—all go beyond just being relaxing in the moment and have helped alleviate long-standing pains I had just resigned myself to living with. Jolie herself is a calm, kind presence who takes the time to explain the “why” behind the techniques she employs, understand how my history of injuries/surgery and daily work impact my needs, and teach me techniques to employ at home to extend the benefits of her work and alleviate potential long-term health concerns. I am truly thankful to have come across Gua Sha Spa!

I first went to see Jolie with neck and shoulder pain. I booked a 90 minute session, for neck, shoulders and a Gua Sha facial. I left feeling relaxed and my pain was relieved. The facial took all of the puff and fatigue away from my face making me look refreshed. I then came back to Jolie after having surgery and was very swollen and ached all over. Jolie provided lymphatic tissue massage to relieve the fluid build-up and also used her knowledge of pressure point and massage to reduce the inflammation and soreness. Three weeks after my surgery I'm ahead on my recovery and I have Jolie to thank. I highly recommend a visit, she has a gift to naturally provide relief to distressed areas of the body and is an amazing person!

The staff is very kind and knowledgeable. The massage itself was great and the Gua sha facial is so good for relieving tension in the face. I had to do three stars only because of the cleanliness of the space. There was an odor on everything including the sheets and it was messy and cluttered and didn’t feel very comfortable or spa like. I think maybe they are transitioning the space so that could be why. Overall the services are wonderful annd the staff was so nice and if it was clean I would be a regular !

Had a gua sha facial massage and it was relaxing and made my face less puffy. The pressure was just right and I felt energized afterwards. Will definitely going back to Jolie for a Tuina massage next!

I love Jolie! She is so skilled and talented. I had a Gua Sha treatment and my skin looked and felt amazing. Bonus I even look and feel younger. I now do Gua Sha every day and see Jolie for tune ups and my skin looks and feels great! Jolie gets results! I also signed up for the 4 packages of massage and learned so much about personal self care with each session. (I have signed up for a second package since the time was so valuable to my physical and emotional improvement.). She taught me how to manage my anxiety with a special focus of massage and that has been a game changer for me! This alone was worth it! Not a single anxiety attack since this session!! I have also had 3 concussions and she is the only person (I have sought many) who knew how to massage my neck and head to release the constant tension that I thought a was a normal baseline. I felt so good when I left I was swooning. Now that is a powerful feeling to enjoy. Jolie is gifted, talented, and caring. Go see her and enjoy the feeling for yourself. This is not a typical massage place. She cares about how you are feeling and can help you focus on your physical and emotional well being. Her food tips are powerful and WORK too! This place isn’t your typical massage spa. What Jolie does is something entirely different, and will actually help your pain subside. I typically feel very woozy / dizzy after massage, but I feel refreshed and energized after Jolie works on me. I highly look forward to each session!!

This was one of the best massages I’ve had and Jolie is amazing. She cares and is knowledgeable - honestly one of the best self care appointments I have done for myself in a long time. I ended up buying a package deal because this is something that I plan to do more often and Jolie let my husband have one of my massages so now he will be coming back as well!

This was one of the best self care appointments I have done for myself in a very long time. I didn’t know what to expect considering I had never tried lymphatic drainage or professional Gua sha, but Jolie has hands of an angel! Now looking back, I have tried DOZENS of massage therapists and I think this is the service I’ve always been looking for. Left buying a package deal because this is something that I plan to do monthly because that’s how much of a difference I felt after getting up from Jolie’s table. 10/10 recommend.

I go here for deep tissue message. Overall, I would highly recommend this place for pain relief and overall wellness. My expirance with other massage therapists has been mixed. However, this massage therapist provides the necessary pressure and techniques for relief.

This is the only place where my shoulder pain was treated and the pain is now gone! I have been dealing with neck and shoulder pain for many years. I have tried chiropractors, massages and exercises but the problem was not going away until I had a few pressure points therapy sessions with Joli. She knows what she is doing! I took my mother when she had an issue with her ankle and knee and she saw relief after the first visit and by the third the problem was all gone. Both she and I are now regular clients.

Finding Jolie has been an absolute Godsend. I have chronic fatigue, weight gain, inflammation, body aches, etc due to having Hashimotos disease and this is the best I’ve felt in years. And without trying, I’ve lost 10lbs due to the inflammation going down. This isn’t your typical massage you get anywhere else, it goes beyond. Not to mention Jolie is a wonderful person and I always look forward to my appointments.

I’ve had two appointments with Jolie, first one for face and neck Gua Sha and second one for a full body treatment for my toddler and myself. Jolie is extremely knowledgeable and thorough and I saw immediate lifting and slimming results with the Gua Sha and amazing tension relief with the body massage. Looking forward to our next session!
