Absolute gem!! The people here were so sweet and attentive! My sister and I came in for different processes and yet they took us both in for the same day. As my sister was going blond and I was getting a different hair color, both our hairs took a total of 4hrs and yet our stylist was patient and willing to listen in to our concerns/needs. Would definitely recommend!!

I came here due to my hairstylist moving to her new location, and everything was amazing. Absolutely pleasant, relaxing atmosphere with very nice people. Lori is my stylist, and she was the absolute best, as always. She makes you feel very comfortable and asks questions so you both can reach the best result. She's very trustworthy and super friendly. Her professionalism and attention to detail definitely leave me feeling confident after every appointment. She's a rockstar 🤘🏽

I came to Hair Apothecary after passing by on the way to my favorite coffee shop quite a few times and peering in to see happy patrons getting great cuts and color. As a traumatized-by-Lincoln-Park-hair-salons bisexual woman I was coloring and cutting my own hair for 3 years. Though I’d like to think my YouTube prowess and general common sense would get me the results I was looking for…after 3 years my hair was one mistake too many and porous and fried. I called and they had an opening for that day so I thought here I go! Even from the phone call with the receptionist Ladi (sorry for spelling love ♥️) I knew it was going to be a good experience. When I came in, I saw Daniel and he was quiet and focused. I was chatty bc I was nervous but he was unaffected and I know I’m going to love coming back because usually I’m quiet in the chair. He took the time to assess my hair and talked through two really good directions we could go. Either fun vibrant colors or taking a little risk and trying to get closer to natural. At this point I’d done so many colors that I was feeling ready to do something closer to natural so I could grow it out healthy again. He treated my hair with care and through some luck with how the first round of dye developed but 99% the skill of a well-seasoned professional he was able to give me a beautiful and unique look that was close to my natural brown but also this beautiful gray/brown/darkish/purple undertone look. He took off a healthy amount and kept the length, took his time with the cut and styled it effortlessly. The price was very reasonable and as a musician that made me feel great. I felt heard and healed today. All the people there were great and it’s the chill vibe salon that I haven’t found since I was a teenager.

I went in for a cut, my first time getting a cut in a salon since way before Covid. (I'm just that lazy) I'm always nervous going to a new, hip place, because I am neither new nor hip, so I get intimidated. Not a problem at Hair Apothecary because everyone there was super friendly. I emailed the salon and got a quick response from the owner, Andrea. She asked a few questions about my hair type-length and texture and paired me with Jude, who specializes in curly hair. The salon has a cool vibe. Jude was warm and welcoming and listened to all of my hair concerns - I have some hair loss due to menopause. She gave me a wonderful cut and was good about talking about products to use and how to style it. I mentioned that I had been considering coloring my hair for the first time ever, and she asked me for my inspo pix and booked me another appointment. Three days later, I stepped out of that salon a whole new Tory! I look and feel like my young and sassy self. I LOVE MY HAIR! I love Hair Apothecary! I love Jude!

You’re fabulous and I could not be happier with my first experience at a salon and the my beautiful hair that has body and bounce! (Sorry to all for the crazy eyes in the photos!)

Andrea is the best! She’s been cutting my hair ever since I moved to Chicago in 2004. And I’ve gotten compliments on my haircut from complete strangers! I recommend her to anyone and everyone and never worry they won’t like their hair 😊

Bobby is a hair genius! I have super dense, thick, frizzy hair and NO ONE knows how to cut it and I’ll admit, I am pretty clueless when it comes to hair. Bobby, thankfully, is not! He has cut my hair twice now (totally different styles each time) and he has done an amazing job both times and really transformed my hair. He listened to what I wanted each time, came up with a plan and executed flawlessly. I would def recommend Bobby to anyone!

Daniel is a magician! Everyone at Hair Apothecary has been so kind and accommodating. I was particularly grateful that Daniel sat down with me for a long consultation before I scheduled a session to adjust my color for the changing season. I absolutely love what he did with my hair because frankly, I had no clue what I wanted or needed, but he managed to work some sort of magic that brought out the green in my eyes - he knew exactly what needed to be done because frankly, I just knew I needed a change and didn’t really know what to ask for. So, I’m super grateful for his wisdom and the time he spent with me. The vibe at the salon itself was also impeccable, and the location is super convenient (right near the Brown Line stop)! Great interior design, and super friendly stylists all around.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I randomly drove by the salon one day knowing I need to update my hair and called immediately and they got me in that very next week! I walked in to be greeted by the amazing owner! Bobby is phenomenal, I felt so comfortable with him and laughed the whole time! He wasn't sure if he had enough time but somehow he worked a miracle into my hair and now I'm feeling so happy! I feel like my beauiful self again and now I only will go to Hair Apothecary to get my hair done!

I feel SO lucky to have found Hair Apothecary! I highly recommend this place and especially recommend Daniel! The salon is so welcoming, and everyone who works here is super friendly. I sent Hair Apothecary an S.O.S. email with a photo of my botched dye job from another salon (the other salon turned my hair black instead of light brown, tried to correct it, and then said they couldn't) and Andrea got back to me within minutes and set me up with an appointment with Daniel the very next day. I met Daniel the next day, and he immediately knew what to do with my hair. He's such a pro! He diligently listened to what I wanted, looked at photos, and told me what was possible considering the previous dye job. I feel like I gave him an impossible task to make my hair go from dark to light, but within one session my hair was back to beautiful. As I was finishing up the first time, Andrea checked in to make sure that I liked my hair, which was really thoughtful and sweet that she was checking in to make sure I was happy with the results. I am SO happy with the results! On the second session, we went a little blonder and it looks AMAZING. Daniel is truly magical! I feel like myself again :0D This place is such a gem! Definitely check it out.

I've bounced between hair salons for years now until I discovered Hair Apothecary. The staff are all wonderful, they have been working as stylist for years and it clearly shows. My stylist Bobby is beyond amazing! After showing him some vague pictures of hair inspiration he was able to translate that to my hair and give me perfect, bouncy layers. I recommend Hair Apothecary to all of my friends, I've even convinced my husband into upgrading from super cuts.

I’ve been going to Jude for years! She’s simply the best! She makes me feel like I’m just hanging with my best friend while I get my hair done. She is extremely knowledgeable and won’t do anything she doesn’t think won’t work on your hair. When I went to pink she took her time to explain to me how to get to the color and what I would need to do to maintain it. The color has lasted and my hair is super healthy. You couldn’t get a better stylist than Jude. Hair apothecary is a super friendly salon, convenient, and made me feel safe in covid times. Update: Another flawless transition by the wonderful Jude. Couldn’t ask for a better stylist!
