As an Chinese-American man, I would like to echo the sentiments of the other reviews here that Kat is a master at her craft and definitely knows how to cut Asian hair. I've never had long hair before, so it was a relief when Kat took the time to teach me about the different ways to style my hair and also to take care of it as well. Also, you can tell that she just loves what she does and that is shown by how good she is at this. Highly recommend.

Kat has cutting hair down to a science. She really takes the time to understand your specific hair type and what you want out of the haircut. What set Kat apart from others that have cut my hair is the fact that she focused on making sure that as my hair grew out, it continued to be low maintenance and have the look I wanted, whereas a lot of people only focus on making your hair look good at the end of the cut. Highly recommend hair art studio if you're looking for a haircut in Cincinnati.

Needless to say the best hair studio ever, Kat speaks with endless experience, and masterfully designs and gives professional advice and feedback! As an Asian-American, Japanese-Korean man, my hair constantly has been ruined by most other places; Bishops, Great Clips, and even other professional studios, but none compare to the Hair Art Studio and Kat’s skills.

I CALLED & SPOKE W/KAT & I COULDN'T THINK FAST ENOUGH BECAUSE I HAD A MASSIVE BRAIN SWELL WHEN I HAD AN ACCIDENT AT AGE 16, NOW THAT I AM OLDER; I HAVE TROUBLE THINKING. THIS LADY ASKED ME A QUESTION AND GOT HATEFUL BECAUSE I WASN'T ANSWERING FAST ENOUGH! TO ME, IF YOU ARE GOING TO RUN A BUSINESS, HAVE A LITTLE PATIENCE WITH YOUR CALLERS BECAUSE YOU DO NOT KNOW THEIR SITUATION, DOESN'T MATTER HOW LONG THEY HAVE YOU ON THE PHONE!! IF YOU CAN'T SPEND THE TIME WITH YOUR CALLER THAN YOU SHOULD GET A RECEPTIONIST!!! YOU HAVE IT WRONG!!! I AM OLDER & CAN'T THINK RIGHT FADT ENOUGH 4 YOU, BUT IM DARN SURE NOT DUMB!!! I have followed Kat from previous locations. In addition to highlights, hair color and styling, have purchased hair products ranging from shampoo, conditioner, gels, hair spray, etc. Always gives invaluable advice on how to style my hair for various events. Gave advice on how to wash and dry my hair when I broke my shoulder. Have received lots of compliments over the years. Highly recommend!

Within minutes of sitting down in the chair she knew exactly how my hair flowed; grew; and without any direction, zeroed-in on how I wanted it cut back and styled. KNOWS HOW TO CUT ASIAN MEN HAIR Since i moved to Cincinnati, I have been struggling to find a barber who knows how to deal with my thick straight asian hair. Within the first 10 minutes of the consultation, Kat knew exactly how I wanted my hair to look like. Not only did she give me a fresh real fade, she also taught me how to take care of my hair. Kat is not only an experienced stylist, but she is also a teacher. I learned so many tips for taking care of my hair at home. I got a Brazilian Blowout and I could tell she was so much more experienced than the stylists I have had in the past for this treatment. I also loved that she charged by the hour which was great for people with shorter hair. I was especially impressed with her time management. She is the ultimate professional! 5 stars!!

I reached out to the salon regarding the Japanese hair straightening. Kat contacted me, saying the Brazilian hair straightening would be a better deal. I had it done in early June 2019 and my hair has been GORGEOUS. We're coming up on 3 months later with my hair extremely easy to manage and straighten ... I'm looking forward to booking with Kat for another quarter year of gorgeous hair!

Owner Kat has cut off communication completely after i asked for a refund. I am asking for a full refund since my hair was completely destroyed- it’s fried to a crisp and falling off as we speak in clumps . Feel free to read the comments I sent her : ( 1000.00 is what I paid for a Brazilian blowout and a Japanese straight treatment AUGUST—-Hi Kat ! Hope all is well ! I hate to have to write this because we had so much fun during the service and u are a great lady . I did however want to say my hair has become worse than it was before . It fried and broke off in many places I had to get extensions. It’s not smooth at all and the only thing that did work is the curl mostly came out . I’ve had Brazilian blowout many times before and never have I had sim much frizz breakage and damage . I was hoping for a reund or a few deep conditioner treatments from you . Hope you aren’t upset . The service was excellent but the end prouduct did not turn out the way I hoped for 😢😢😢 SEPT -after doing a deep conditioning treatment hair continues to break off - request full refund and I believe she blocked my number as she’s not responding at all - NOVEMBER-I wanted to write to you and kindly ask for a refund on the services provided . You are a great lady and I really like you but unfortunately my hair has been destroyed. I can call you and tell you what’s happening but after the treatments I received it’s been damaged beyond repair . Not even hair trims help . My head is a Brillo pad . Let me know if you would refund me ( minus the gratuity because you still did the work ) . Last message to follow up . STill NO RESPONSE - another message to Kat- NOVEMBER - Unfortunately I’ll have to take this farther if you done respond to me and come to an agreement. My hair is completely destroyed. I’d like to avoid unpleasantness and filing complaint with BBB , unfavorable reviews , attorney general or litigation. Please take responsibility for what happened here . Thanks again !
