Im so upset. Went there 6 months ago and had a great result (bought through groupon). Now I got a deal on BlackFriday to retouch the roots ($119 for the Silk Keratin). Obviously I was charged extra $80 and could right away tell the product was totally different with a strong smell of vinegar. The lady who did was nice and all, but I knew by the texture (very liquid) and smell of the product that something was very different from the first time. First wash and my roots are still curly, the hair is anything but silky and now ill have to wait at least a while to fix it. I dont mind paying for a good service but the silk keratin made the hair actually worst than when i got there, very dry and brittle. Its sad that in cases like this I wont see my money back and for obvious reasons im not going back to fix it. I do Keratin treatments for several years and thats the first time I hate how my hair feels.

I came in for hair botox and told the stylist that my hair was very thin and breaks easily. The stylist was extremely rough with my hair and caused a ton of breakage from pulling and brushing harshly. This left my hair more frizzy at the top from all the broken pieces of hair, where it was silky smooth before the treatment. I’m so incredibly disappointed and it will take years to grow out. I wonder if she did this intentionally to keep me coming back for more hair botox treatments. I will never come back here again

Before and after silk touch keratin ! My hair is naturally kinda frizzy and coarse, not wavy or straight and just kinda dull but this helped my hair so far~ I got a discount on groupon for the base price and it was $136 (orig $159$ I think) but it's extra depending on length and thickness (mine was considered medium length and thick, so it was +$80) Total was $216 not incl tax and tip so it was a bit steeper than I thought but it's worth it for 4-5 months of frizz free I hope it lasts that long

I'm extremely disappointed with my recent visit. I specifically asked the stylist to use a lighter color on my roots to blend with my already highlighted hair and explicitly told her not to use black dye which she agreed and said no black dye. Despite this, she proceeded to dye my roots black, leaving the dye on for about 25 minutes. As a result, my roots turned out extremely dark, which was the opposite of what I requested. When I called the salon to address the issue, I was advised to use clarifying shampoo, but no matter how much I use, the black dye isn’t fading. On top of that, the application was rough and sloppy. I’ve been getting root touch-ups and my hair colored for a long time now. I know what a proper touch-up should look like. This was not it. As someone with dry, frizzy hair, this entire experience has been a nightmare for me.

Cheapest place to go for a keratin treatment that I could find in NYC and lasts 5-6 months. I’ve gone twice now and had speedy service both times. I get charged the base price because my hair is short and not too thick but just keep in mind the price advertised on the website is the base price and if your hair is longer or thicker it costs more.

Hair Bar NYC Soho is now my permanent location for my keratin treatment—they were incredible. I was new to this location and came in with an “attitude.” They were so patient and understanding with me that I came right out of my mood. And they did such a terrific job that I am now truly happy (thank you Solomon!!). And Leia is an extraordinary manager. She knew just how to handle me. Thank you all.

I went to The Hair Bar for the first time after it had been recommended to me by a few friends. I originally got the gel keratin treatment which was not heavy enough for my frizzy hair. They had me come back a couple weeks later and I was lucky enough to have Susana this time around. She was incredibly knowledgable on the products and knew what would work best for my hair type. At no cost, she gave me another keratin treatment PLUS a trim and I am SO happy with the results this time around. I will definitely be coming back and seeing Susana! Thank you again Susana!! I am so happy with my hair.

I found this place on Groupon. I am extremely unsatisfied: I had a keratin treatment (Brazilian gold) and it absolutely didn’t work. My hair were wavy as always after only two weeks. They also charge you for the thickness of your hair (obviously mine had the most expensive “thickness”). I really recommend to go to another place.

Ines Perez is SO talented and kind! I went in for a blowout and she was extremely informative every step of the way. She has great energy and made me feel gorgeous. She did an incredible job with my hair, I will absolutely come back for her! The salon and her station were extremely clean and I was seen promptly. I’m happy she recommended the shampoo and conditioner to me, it really made a difference to my hair.

I’ve been coming to this salon for over 5 years now and cannot recommend it more. Mostly get keratins and the occasional trim. The prices are good and easy to book appointments. Ines is amazing for a keratin - she’s quick and will recommend the best treatment for your hair type. Best keratin in the city.

My life has been transformed since my visit to Ines at the Hair Bar last Friday. I have been dealing with the unruliest and frizziest hair these past few years, which is especially bad in the humid summer months. I got the Silk Touch Express treatment, which it took about an hour all together, and my hair has become the hair of my dreams. So soft, silky, and manageable, and I don't even need to hit it with a hair dryer anymore. The treatment will last 2-3 months, which is so worth the $100, so I will definitely be making this a part of my regular maintenance. I can not recommend enough!

Staff is very nice. However, I went to do a keratin treatment two weeks ago and I regret it so much. I wanted to make sure I gave it a full two weeks before leaving a review so I could see if the damage was temporary as the keratin was settling. I did the Silk Touch Plus and specifically chose Hair Bar because they have formaldehyde free products - big mistake. First of all, my hair went from black to red, but these were the least of my problems. My hair looks terrible. I literally went to get a haircut to remove some of the damage and despite this, my hair still looks crinkly, bent, and breaks by me just touching it. I don’t know if the keratin was left too long or if my stylist put too much, but I have never seen my hair this damaged in the past - not even off of coloring. My hair was in great condition before this. If you're thinking about doing it, don’t! Don’t make the same mistake I did. I have no idea where to even start to repair all this damage.

GinaMarie is a phenomenal stylist and absolute angel. She is so knowledgeable and accomodating, and I felt taken care of the whole time. After my keratin treatment I had some follow up questions, and she immediately replied to my message and helped me out. It was such a lovely experience - she will be my go-to for Keratins moving forward!!

ThANK YOU INES! My hair was over processed from an out-of-state salon. I couldn’t comb it without pieces falling out. I had a consultation with Ines who advised the safest treatment. I left the salon with restored volume, and finally my hair had shine again. My hair was so brittle, I didn’t think it could handle any application. But Ines ensured me I am in safe hands and this treatment will actually help my hair (not hurt it further). I’m SO happy I relaxed and trusted her. WOW. What a ripoff. This salon is claiming to put keratin in your hair. I have been to several salons in the city where my keratin comes out super smooth and beautiful and lasts at least 4 months. When my go-to salon was booked, I came here. Big mistake. This one didn't even last 1 wash! This salon is putting a conditioner (or whatever it is) in your hair and flat-ironing it so you can leave happy and hopeful. Nonsense. They charge up to $400 for a leave-in conditioner that they are advertising as keratin. They will pressure you to leave a review as you sit in their chair, most likely because they know one will discover the truth afterwards. They're also trying to outnumber the numerous horrible reviews on here warning others. I believe most of the good reviews are either fake or those who were pressured into writing one prior to leaving the salon. Unprofessional, shady practices. Please everyone, be careful and take your hard earned money elsewhere.

I got the 24 Karat keratin one week ago and my hair is exactly the same. I paid a little over $250 for nothing. The frizz is exactly the same. what kind of a joke is this? This salon needs to close. BEWARE. Update: In response to the below message, I DID contact you all and you basically told me to kick rocks. You said if 3 days already passed, there's nothing you could do. You also ask us to not wash it out for 3 days so you're purposely ensuring your clients cannot get a refund after discovering your shady practices. Do better or close shop.

This time specifically , I was late to the appointment by 10 minutes and Maria my stylist accommodated it without any frown!! She also did a great job on my hair I am extremely happy with the results !

The formula for all of their keratin products have changed. The keratin treatments no longer remove frizz, straighten or do anything at all actually. They will tell you it's the same formula but they are either watering it down or it has changed altogether. They should be honest with their customers. You will pay between $200 to $400 depending on your hair length/type and literally just have some treatment put in and flat ironed into your hair. It's as if they are applying a leave-in conditioner and charging $300, hoping you won't notice once you wash it out. Pretty laughable. Anyone will walk out of any salon with smooth silky hair if it's flat-ironed. After you wash it out, is when you realize you were pretty much robbed. Everyone will eventually catch on. This salon should just stop doing "keratin" altogether, stop lying to their clients and just focus on other things like cut, color, etc which are also mediocre at best. Do not waste your time or money. Look elsewhere for better options.

DO NOT GO. The treatment did not work and the follow up customer service has been TERRIBLE. Waste of money and time. I am a 19yo girl who has struggled with curly hair her whole life and thought this would make my life easier. I have never written a review before but after experiencing the customer service and uselessness of the treatment, I thought I should try to save others some money!! I got the 24 Karat Keratin straightening treatment. When I booked online I was told it would cost around $150 and there was no indication online that hair type or length would change that. When I got there they told me it would cost an extra $100 because of length and thickness, fine that's fair, I do have a lot of hair. The process went smoothly and I was initially satisfied with the results. The place was clean and my hairdresser was nice. I was told not to get it wet until 3-4 days has passed and then wash it with conditioner only. I did exactly that and washed it with a sulfate-free conditioner as directed and it immediately began getting wavy in the shower. My hair is very curly so I assumed it wouldn't stay perfectly straight and I was fine accepting this. But the following day it just got curlier and frizzier and it was clear to me the treatment wasn't working or they hadn't done it correctly or given me the right treatment. When I called the soho store to get a refund they directed me to customer service who was then absolutely useless. They offered a consult to see if the treatment was still in tact and if I needed to get it redone but I don't trust them to do it again and just want to be refunded. I was told I couldn't get a refund due to their store policy, which I looked over carefully BEFORE the treatment, and it did not clarify that dissatisfaction with results does not warrant a refund. I am so upset and angry with the hair treatment and the way I have been treated after the fact!

Hi everyone! Last week my hair colorist, Anna, recommended and gave me a gel keratin treatment. It has made my hair so shiny and smooth! It also dries faster and it doesn't frizz up in windy or humid weather. I would definitely try it! Your gonna love the way your hair holds its curls!

I absolutely loved the service, I went in unsure of what keratin to get, I had a consultation with my Stylist who helped me choose the keratin that better fit the results I was looking for. I went for the Blowout express because it was my first time doing keratin and my stylist suggested this one because it last 12 weeks or so and if I liked the results I could go back for a stronger one that last longer. I'll definitely be coming back, I love how manageable my hair has been ever since. H.

I've had hair botox before at another salon and it lasted through about 8 shampoos. I had hair botox at Hair Bar Soho on Saturday and it did not even last through one shampoo. Total waste of time and money. I will not return.
