**forgot to post review earlier, but this style was done in the Winter** Great stylist and a lovely vibe. Very personable! But the whole process leading up to and during my appt was super disorganized Asked for and sent a pic of dark brown distressed LONG locs (at least 28-30 inches in the pic). When I got there all she had was random packs of mid length Black 24 in locs and curls. Mind you this is after sending $75 for the hair. So it truly makes you wonder WHERE the “hair” money goes to. Which is insane bc she insisted that she gets a certain type of hair for the shay locs style, yet it looks completely different than the pic i sent She had to last min reschedule and gave a discount which I appreciated. I wasn’t seated until about 35 mins after she finished another client Also can be a bit heavy handed. The locs lasted for a while tho. The locs itself looked great and I kept them for almost 2 months. But I rather learn these styles myself than go to gimmicky stylists. Just wanted to give a transparent review!

At the salon you are treated with warmth, friendly service and impeccable talent. The professionalism and passion makes her work speaks for itself! I’m going back again and again, not just for the confidence you leave with but the quality.

I got soft locs 1 month ago and they are still in. They look even better with time. LUVLY was exceptional and fast and the locs are quality. They last so long. She also guided me on types of hair to buy and how much so that I wouldn't spend more than I needed. She was cost effective and it was very relaxing. I will be back

I’ve gone to Luvly for the past 7 years - always professional and the work is amazing! I’ve gotten tons of different hairstyles (from hair straightening to faux locs) over the years and all have come out stellar.

Ms. Luvly does really nice work so I won’t discredit her on that however she has a really bad attitude. I’ve kept my composure for awhile because I like her work, but today was the last straw putting money in someone’s pocket that has a bad aura. The first incident was the delusion of me allegedly moving my head constantly and not being still. I’ve been to a number of different hair stylists and I’ve never received a complaint about me having such constant movement. The second incident was really not an incident because I didn’t address the issue then, but my 12 year old daughter experienced the same delusion from Ms Luvly Brown about her constantly moving. I’m not sure what this woman’s problem was, but today was it! Here I am minding my business when Ms. Luvly decided she wanted to make a comment about me looking as if I had an attitude…and If I Did?! SO WHAT! I did not address her in any rude way. I sat and minded my business while she worked on someone else’s hair. She then makes a statement about my hair being dirty and telling me that I needed to wash my hair before I came, but when I tried to explain to her that I had psoriasis and that my hair was clean, just very dry, she had a tantrum. As her client is getting ready to leave she says to me “do you want to reschedule because it seems like you have an attitude and I can’t do attitude.” I explained to her that my gas, nor my time or my money would go to waste and that I would not be rescheduling. She then tells me that I need to change my attitude if i want her to do my hair. It took every ounce of me not to pounce on her. As I am sitting there, I put my headphones in my ear, and was humming a tune that was playing. Miss Luvly was somehow bothered by that because she wanted to sing her own song. The whole time she mumbled under her breath, stormed around the room and did the unnecessary burning, whatever sage or incense, she thought would cleanse the room. I’ve never in my life experienced such horrible service. Just imagine somebody yanking your head around because they have an attitude. It really took everything in me not to react the way I should have. Update: She just called me about this post! Lol and asked me if I was mad because she was living her life. Talk about DELUSIONAL AND UNPROFESSIONAL!

Good quality, the person who done my hair done it perfectly. Unfortunately, due to the cause of fire that occur on the third floor and up to the seventh floor, the store will be close until further notice. Proof, go to Citizen App.

Such a pleasure to be around even when I purchased the wrong kind of hair she gave me the hair that she had at the shop not many stylist will do that technique is on point when it comes to her knotless twists even being tendered headed I was able to go to sleep and not wake up with a migraine her prices are very reasonable compared to other salons in Harlem one of the reasons why I chose her. The professionalism was out of this world. Place was sanitize and ready to go. Luvly made me feel very relaxed with good energy and good vibes. She knows what she is doing and she does it well. Definitely a client for Life.

This shop is located in Harlem tucked in a building but with a different entrance where several small business' operate each in their own suite. This studio is small and only can accommodate a few people at a time. So be prompt for your appointment. I was in different about my hair at first. The faux dreads luvly recommend I purchased was not the on I typically buy not the size so it took me a awhile to get back used to it.
