I absolutely LOVE this salon, just went with my kid for a wash, cut & dry for both of us + 2 days later it’s still perfect. Price is amazing, they were very friendly even on a busy weekend and my stylist was great. Will definitely be coming back!

I went in for a haircut and blow dry, he said I know how to layer the hair. He switches scissors on me without asking if I want my hair thinned out and starts chopping my hair! I was so angry, pissed. I got up to leave. Your hair is puffy, I told him, I never thin out my hair!! They do things without asking the customer! ASK the CUSTOMER FIRST!! Not happy it’s winter! I would have given them 0 star, if I was able to! They don’t know how to do layers!!

This place is amazing! All the staff were accommodating and great. I had walked in for a highlight and cut and I was very pleased with their work as you could see in my pictures. I paid $200 for all the services + tip which is very cheap for a highlights these days- though to be fair I have A1 hair. They were really patient and took their time servicing me. 100/10 recommend ❤️

Got a botched haircut somewhere else and the stylist here fixed it beautifully. Was very happy with my new haircut. The woman who shampooed my hair also gave me the longest, most amazing head and neck massage. Staff was friendly and professional. Clean and comfortable atmosphere. Very affordable.

Good haircuts at affordable prices. It's $16 for men's haircut, and they also take card/samsung/apple pay, which is convenient. Not all of them speak fluent English. Use Google translate if you have specific instructions.

I have been going to hair culture since 2013 and at each visit I get my dark brown hair colored golden blonde. I have been to other hair salons in Bay ridge who have either messed up my hair completely or have told me it’s not possible to dye my hair blonde. But Hair Culture always makes it possible and they’re the only ones I trust with my hair. They also go above and beyond for their customers which is why they’re always busy. I also highly recommend to speak with the man (who may be the owner not sure) at the reception and let him know exactly what you want and he will let everyone else know exactly what to do. I have attached pictures of the last three times I have gotten my hair colored from Hair Culture. I also recommend Jenny because she’s very knowledgeable and the one year she handled my hair was the best blonde tone I had ever gotten! That’s the picture with the red heart on it and the blonde curls which she had styled also. But everyone else is skilled also, the haircuts are precise and neat, and the hair stylists are great at what they do! Definitely recommend this place but definitely recommend to let the reception know exactly what you’re looking for so everything comes out exactly the way you want

I’ve been coming here for years, this time I came in and asked for a wavy perm.. I got spiral curls on my top and straight hair at the bottom. So disappointed and now I have to wait for my whole hair to grow out for this to go away. The women seemed hesitant throughout the process, I wish they were just honest from the start instead of messing up my hair.

They did an AMAZING job! I love this place and will be coming back every time! My hair was too dark so I asked if they could lighten it up but still keep the copper/orange tones. It came out perfectly! Great price too!

I've been here 3 times in the past year or so, and I've had a great experience each time. All three times, I've just walked in randomly, without an appointment, and never had to wait more than 10 minutes for someone to do my hair. The wash is great. They really scrub the absolute hell out of your scalp (which I love), but if you have a delicate scalp or fragile hair, just tell them to be gentle. While washing, they also give a heavenly mini scalp and shoulder massage. Wash, cut, and style for $30. Quality work for a great price. Leon did an amazing job on my hair today, as you can see from the photos. Thank you!!

Absolutely delighted to share this review. Went to change my existing blonde balayage, wanting a blondish pink balayage this time. However, due to my existing blonde, it is not the easiest in technicality to achieve that blondish pink. Had a darker type of copper pinkish red but I was thrilled and satisfied! It turned out really good!Leon and his team are phenomenal! Leon comes by and explain everything in detail- he is extremely honest and transparent. Tells you how it’s gonna turn out just as it is. Charges you at a fair and reasonable price all these years I had been going. I have been going to Hair culture for years and they always do such a great job. An ethical hair business for sure. Leon is gifted at what he does - and he seeks to achieve the best possible outcome. His employees are all skilled, thoughtful and sweet. You can tell- I was extremely satisfied with how my hair turned out but Leon was saying it could look even better if this and that was done. But I was just in love with it and it’s good enough! I highly recommend this place and will continue to patronize for my future hair needs. They also do hair up dos for special occasions! Inquire with them.

From the head massages to the hair color, I do not have a single complaint. They were beyond accommodating and made sure everything was to my liking. Leon and the team really makes you feel like you’re a valued client no matter what you came in for. I highly recommend paying them a visit if you’re looking to change up your hair!

Hair Culture on 5th Ave. in Bay Ridge is precisely what I want in a hair salon. The wait is short; the hair wash comes with a deep massage; and the hair cut and blow dry left me feeling brand new, sporting my "air hair". The color is just gorgeous, no more grays! The price is modest. Who needs a fancy, pricey, salon when we have Hair Culture right in the neighborhood!?

I can’t say enough good things about this place. I’ve been coming here since high school and I don’t trust any other salon with my hair. Whether it’s haircuts, hair dye, bleaching, highlights etc THEY KNOW WHAT THEY’RE DOING. Everyone from the hair washers (amazing head massages) to the stylists is a 10/10. Highly recommend!!

If I could give this chop shop negative 5 stars I would. My daughter and I stopped in for a trim this Saturday . I reintegrated multiple times to TRIM my hair. My job requires me to have my hair pulled back so it’s not in our patients faces and ours while we preform procedures. Well I walked out with the worst hair cut I’ve had my entire life. I called the salon and spoke to the manager who agreed to refund me only after my asking if the stylists held their own licenses or if it was an umbrella policy. He assured me every stylist holds their own license but there are no licenses posted at any station. My daughter who has long hair washed it this morning to realize her haircut was just as bad. They blew her hair out to look full .. She has a rim of bangs that circle her entire head. Needless to say I have put a complaint in with the Better Business Bureau.

I’ve been coming here for haircuts for over a decade, and Sammy always does an amazing job. The staff is also great, and has been very accommodating with my wheelchair. It’s walk-in only, so expect a wait, but it’s worth it!

Worst hair salon I have ever been to. The owner asks staff to do a bad job for clients so they keep coming back. That’s honesty to them. Anyway, definitely don’t recommend! There’s another one on 3rd Ave and 76th that’s so much better and hairstylists actually do a good job.
