Truell is an expert stylist. She is friendly, kind, technically talented, and works well with her clients to get the desired outcomes. She has always done a wonderful job on my hair color and cuts. Truell is the very best in our area. And she’s super nice!

Went in to get a hair cut for my daughter who has curly hair. Upon arrival the stylist just stared at her hair and stated she needs to straighten it for the hair would be even. I have been to this salon before so it was a first time for me to hear that. I declined and said I would like just a wash and cut for her. I don’t straighten her hair nor blow dry yet again she declined and stated it would be uneven. Not sure if they’ve never worked with curly hair but I don’t recommend this location. Not welcoming either.

we came today with an appointment to whoever was available at 11am and the lady who was avaliable didn't wanted to take my son and she asked us to have a seat, for the next available haircut lady, and 2 mnts later someone came in without and appointment and the same lady came from the back again and took that person in, right in front of us, Than I was thinking was something wrong with us or my son? why she didn't wanted to take my son? this lady's name is MINA. so MINA if you get to read this, shame on you that you preferred to take someone who maybe was paying you more. or wherever the reason. you made us felt not welcome!. you even said to your coworker that you weren't doing anything. but you preferred to make us wait.

My first time at HAIR Cuttery. I went on a referral and they did not disappoint! Truell is such a gem. My cut and style was reasonably priced and came with lots of consultation. Cruelly and Mena are just the sweetest and make you feel like family🤗

Asked for a trim and for my curtain bangs to be trimmed she said she wasn’t going to trim some pieces of the curtain bangs but trimmed up the front and cut a huge chunk straight across my head and my curtain bangs are so far back on my head in the front now. After I straightened my hair it looked horrible this is my second time here and it has been a bad experience every time and Mina did not listen at all I would really like my money back because this is a really bad haircut. I had stylist Mina and it does not look like curtain bangs at all.

My family and I have been going to the Centreville Hair Cuttery for decades and everyone there has always been very helpful and friendly. I come in every six weeks or so to get my hair colored and cut and I've never had a bad experience.

The stylist who was at the desk on July 19, 2024 at 10:30 was rude. We did not have an appointment but the sign on the window says walk-ins welcome. She said that we had to come back at 2 PM and so we scheduled an appointment but then she said she had cut my mother-in-law‘s hair last time and my mother-in-law gave her a hard time. I corrected her because I was at the appointment and my mother-in-law did not say two words to her the entire time. My mother-in-law is a very kind, soft-spoken loving person and I did not appreciate the woman speaking about her that way. Needless to say, I canceled the appointment and we will not be returning.

This morning I made the appointment with the lady in hair salon . I told her that I had been going to my hair stylist for last two decades , since she is gone on her vacation for a month and I need my hair cut so if hair salon has a stylist who can do my hair . When I went at 2:00 pm there, the lady who was supposed to give me hair cut started objecting my hair , sometimes my stylist ( who is very professional and owns salon suite in a big hair studio) ,then inquiring whereabouts of my stylist . She kept on judging me . She said that she will cut my hair in single layer and kept on making lame excuses to avoid what I asked for. I showed her the picture too . I assume this lady wasn’t capable to cut women hair . I quickly realized that she will ruin my hair , so I offered her to pay for the shampoo service and leave . She was constantly rude . There were two other customers getting their hair done. One was in the wash area and other was getting a hair cut . They all were listening to her drama . She said to me “ go , go you waste my time “. Though it was her who wasted my time . I told her that I will complain about her rude behavior with customer, I asked her name and she said”I have no name “.This lady was fair skinned with blond short wavy hair . I am bringing this into the notice of Stone rd , Centreville Hair cuttery management and expect that they will take action to improve their customer service.

I had read bad reviews, went anyways 😮‍💨😂 Jean cut my hair, I wanted to go short again. She didn’t cut it badly, but it just wasn’t what I was asking for. I asked for a fade on the sides, and some length on top, she gave me a pixie cut that was neither of those things. I look like a grandma, i’m frustrated. I asked her if she could go shorter on the sides, and she said she couldnt because i “have a pimple on my head that needs to be covered”. ——Bruh. no. I have a mole, sure, it’s alway been there. has never been an issue? but she would not go shorter or listen to anything I said. really frustrating.

I saw Mina here a few months ago for a cut & color. She made me feel so bad about how dry my hair is that I still don’t ever want to see another hairstylist. I had highlights for a few months and the bleach ruined my hair, I’ve been slowly getting it back to a good state but Mina had me almost in tears the entire time I was there. I usually wouldn’t leave a bad review but I’m still thinking about it several months later.

She did a great job from start to finish! I came in with 3 colors on my head lol and she explained the highlight process and my goals to go back to blonde. She was very patient as I have a lot of hair and did do a lot of extra work. Most importantly, We had a lot of fun during the process. I’m very happy with the results!

I did not make an appointment, but when checked in at the place, the computer system said I had 9 minutes to wait. The lady said I was next. Then 3 other people who came after me were taken in before me saying they had appointments. I was there waiting for 1hr. I left with no service. Needless to say, I will never go there again. If appointments are necessary, then the store should say so and not take walk-ins.

Do not use Jean at this location. She butchered my son’s hair. I know there is two sides to every story but I was in the store when it happen. I was just too late to stop her. I heard my son ask twice to thin his hair and only trim the edges. By the time I heard the trimmers it was too late. The SAD part is that she tried to blame my son. I know there was a language barrier but she should not be cutting hair if she screws hair up like this.

I came in with my friend for a haircut and blow dry, mind you our hair is same length and thickness. I got charged 100$ for my hair cut and she only got charged 50$. I asked the stylist why and she says your hair is curly. my hair is barely even wavy especially after i have bleach in my hair there is barely any texture. so the jump from 50 to 100$ was insane. I was just trying a new salon and stylist. However I won’t be coming back. I’d rather go to my prior one who actually uses good products in my hair and takes her time rather than rushing through it. She obviously had some type of bias against me to charge me an extra 50$ for “long hair” when our hair is the same length. will never be coming back. Ridiculous prices for average mediocre work.

I like this place. I made my appointment online and they can be ok for 10 lateness if you call in ahead. This salon is getting popular but they are shorthanded like most places we like so walk is limited. I could say 5 words or less after I sit in the chair and she would knows how I want my hair done whether it's cutting, coloring or syling for an occasion. What I like is she doesn't expected me to talk her. She just works my hair and allows me to relax which I appreciate.

My experience was very good with this hair cuttery branch, my hair styler was very nice friendly, but my friend says your hair do not look like good layer cut and It not symmetrical. I wish you can fix it again before charismas.

This Hair Cuttery has been here for the longest time. Hair dressers will vary and it's not easy to find the right one. Mina is the best. She knows how to style my stick straight, heavy, voluminous hair. Try their Cibu hair products, it's made by The Hair Cuttery and they are fabulous!

This was my first stop in my search for a new barber in Virginia. I never went back. After I tried to tell the barber lady how to cut my sons hair in the middle of the haircut. She rudely cut me off and told me that she had been cutting hair for over 10 years and that she knew what she was doing. After she was done with my sons hair she asked if I was ready n I told her I would pass. I got my son used to giving the tip money himself at our old barber in Maryland so I didn’t want to disturb that even though she didn’t deserve a dime, we gave her $3. It was still a very bad haircut. My old barber had been cutting my hair for 20 years and my sons haircut since his first one and not once was I ever unhappy. I’m still looking for a good barbershop in the centreville area. If you think about going here, I don’t recommend it.
