I've been seeing Miss Darcy at this salon since 2019. Since then I moved and now live and work 40 minutes away but I will be forever faithful to her 😊 The services I receive here are hair shape-up/cut/color and brows. I love that she doesn't scalp me the way some have done in the past. She knows my face and makes sure to keep it natural and to not leave me looking surprised (as you can see I'm VERY picky about these caterpillars on my face 😹). I recently got married and she helped me choose the perfect color to help hide my grays and to color match my extensions I needed for my updo. This turned out absolutely beautiful! This location is easy to get to and park at. The other ladies that work here are all very friendly too and the vibe of the shop is nice and homey!! I highly recommend Hair Design 49!!

Jessica is a master at styling and is also really fun to talk to! :) Last time I was there I asked for a “gypsy shag” which is basically a lot of short layers -it looks a lot like a style from the 80s, so cute! I have a really fine, thin, curly hair and she was able to make it look gorgeous; she also spent a lot of time on the cut, did not feel rushed at all. Highly recommend Jessica, she’s also very responsive to texts.

Salon 49 is fantastic! I always have a good experience, and I trust Darcy completely with my hair. I always feel like a million dollars when I leave! Highly recommend!

Jerilyn cut my hair four times. The first time she asked me how I normally get it cut. I told her buzz the back and sides with a #4 and scissor cut the top. The first two haircuts were the best I have ever had and had people complementing me on it. The last two haircuts she took it upon herself to buzz my whole head with a #3 and then took a comb/razor thing and got it even shorter. Keep in mind my hair is thinning out. After she finished the last haircut she couldn’t get the front to do anything because it was so short she told me “do your magic on it”. After I got home I had realized that she done the same exact thing she did the last time so I sent her a text and asked her why she did it. All I wanted from her was a reason of why she buzzed my whole head like that and all she would say is that she would go back to doing it the original way the next time. I always gave her a $14 tip so I am still confused why she did me that way. With this being said I still didn’t give the place a real low rating because it is really nice and the people working in their are nice as well.

Mery did such a fantastic job on my hair! She is very through with her color! I went last minute as my normal stylist cancelled on me last minute due to illness. I called and Heidi found someone for me that could do my hair that day! Everyone is super nice in the salon, and knowledgeable! I highly suggest this salon for your hair needs!!

Went here for the first time a few months ago after moving into the area and my haircut was not what had asked for, especially for the high price. Was more of an older lady's cut and did not have the layers that I had asked for. Cut and reshaped my hair after got home, which helped a little but not up to par since I'm not a stylist. Decided to wait 6 months or so to grow out and try another place.

Great place for a great haircut!! Darcy has always been extremely nice and does an excellent job cutting my hair. She is very accomidating with her sched ule :) I have seen her doing other client's hair and she does great! She listens to how you want your hair done and even gives suggestions when you want to try something new with your "do." :)

I recently moved here from outside of Philadelphia Pa. I loved my salon and was reluctant to start over...but I had no choice, my roots were..well let’s just say it had been a little while. I walked into a few salons around my house (Rivergate-Steele Creek area.) I was put off by the Aveda salon. (I felt they were a touch arrogant..and honestly for no reason I could see . I lived in NYC, they really weren’t anything special, but they seemed to think so.) I called Hair Design 49 Hair Salon because they used Redkin-(honestly for no better reason but my stylist from home did, and because the salon's website depicted a friendly yet modern salon.) My experience surpassed my expectations. The stylist-Jessica was incredibly knowledgeable of the products. She must have spent over 30 minutes with me just going over what we could do, making sure I was getting what I wanted and educating me on my options..not in a commission sort of way-it was just her passion. She didn’t even have other clients scheduled in-between me (unheard of on the east coast.) My hair came out better than I had imagined! She weaved the colors beautifully! The cut was exactly what I had asked for! Obviously the product is the most important however on a side note-the atmosphere was delightful. It was like Stealing Magnolias meets New York Chic.
