I always have the best experience when visiting Taye. She’s incredibly accommodating, even when I call in at the last minute. My absolute favorite service is microlinks—they last so long, are super flexible, and blend perfectly with my natural hair. The atmosphere is always welcoming, and everyone is so lovely and professional. I’ve been coming here for four years, even though I live in New York, and I always make it a point to book an appointment whenever I fly back to Florida.

I have been going to Taye for 5 years now, and I have no desire to go anywhere else. When I came to her my hair was breaking off and damaged. She has then since used protective styling and long term care to grow and repair my heat damaged and weak hair. Her sew ins last me 2-3 months and the quality of her extensions are top tier. I put all trust into her when I want my hair done, I only bring references and inspiration for styling. My natural hair is now the longest it's been since I was a child. She offers so much versatility as far as styles go, a true artist!

1. No apology — at least be truthful & honest. I even shared where I believe I fell short & had poor judgment & decision making. 2. I stated my first appointment was fine 3. I paid with my card. (📸 proof included) 4. $300 for that style is extremely high. It should have been executed with the quality to match your price. It’s not two separate styles. It is one style and I BOOKED w. ONE stylist. 5. The hair was horrible. Absolutely horrible. You told me the hair you sell was really really good. So I trusted I’d get my monies worth. Assistant agreed hair was not good, quality hair. Pack hair from the beauty supply is better quality. For $280, I expect it to last longer than 30 days. (📸 proof included) 6. You say you have no assistants. I booked my appointment with you, Tayee. Why were you and someone else doing my hair? 7. My hair was taken out prior to my appointment. I have photos because I wanted to compare my edges before and after since they were braided so tight. Mon-Fri my classes at UTI were from 6:30am - 9:30am. As you see I am already waiting in your shop at 9:53 with my hair ready to be washed. (📸 proof included) 8. That makes no sense. Why would I request none of my hair to be out? How was I supposed to cover the track? Who even does that? 9. I did state my anxiety was at an all time high. I was going through a lot. I did not think that would be an easy conversation. I was not prepared for confrontation at that time. It weighed very heavy on me for so long, and still to this day. It affected my mental health — I did not feel good about myself nor my decision making. I can speak up for myself today. 10. These are my real feelings with facts & proof to back them up. This was my experience and my way of sharing it with you. 11. I literally called and asked you for a price you said $120. That was for full-head wash and cornrows— because YOU were unable to finish my hair within 5 hours(most likely due to too many clients at once), we agreed to only wash the front and braid it. You said that would include a discount but then charged me $120 AFTER whispering about what you would charge me with your assistant. But $120 to wash the front and 6 huge, UGLY cornrows? AFTER spending $600 at your salon 30 days prior for a high maintenance style? Where’s the quality to match. 12. One would think you’d have more empathy & compassion. My mom taught me well, too. My anxiety was high because of other things I was dealing with. Adding confronting someone who I now believe To be shady(The whispering of the price to still charge me the original price), was not my solution. Instead I took the style out and did not return — LEAVING from my first 2 appts I was not dissatisfied. Seeing my track showing after the first style, not sure why you’re saying I would request NO HAIR out. Very tacky & ghetto and that’s not what I represent. And it’s simply ILLOGICAL The inconsistencies in your response, some of which I was able to prove are false, further prove to me it would not have been an easy solution. Also, I stated I didn’t care for the way my hair and scalp were being treated…. So I didn’t really want another style/braids. Thank you for reaching back out to me. This is review is about customer service. Update: just to add some Support to me not being 100% satisfied. I most definitely complained to everyone about that price. I did my research for months before finally taking a leap of faith and getting my hair done for the first time in a new state.. your other prices were reasonable, so no, I was not expecting you to make up some something about 2 separate styles. If you want to be technical, they should have both been half off because it was HALF cornrows HALF sew in. And I booked with ONE stylist, not 2. It should not have taken all day(over 6 hours). Fulani braids is ONE STYLE — but maybe what softened the blow of the price is my mom sent me half of the $600. (📸) & Lesson learned..so now I was only concerned with maintaining the style but that was IMPOSSIBLE because of POOR EXECUTION and TRASH HAIR that YOU supplied.

I have not gotten a silk press in over two years. I am always worried about causing heat damage to my hair, but they did an amazing job with my hair. I was able to wear my silk press for two weeks, washed it, and had no damage. I also got a trim and a treatment, which was really nice.

I've been going to Taye for a while now, and I couldn't be happier! Not only does she work magic on my own hair, but she's also amazing with my daughter. She's patient, kind, and truly talented. Her attention to detail and ability to understand exactly what we're looking for is impressive. Plan ahead and be prepared to spend a couple of hours at the salon, as Taye is in high demand! But trust me, the wait is worth it. We've never minded the wait because we always leave feeling confident and beautiful, with stunning results.

I’m still so scarred about my experience that I haven’t gotten my hair done professionally since.. if I can find the picture proof I will add it My first time going was cool. Wash n set. She one of those that does 5 heads at a times tho Second time she charged me over $600 for a half up half down with cornrows in front, weave in back. She was obviously making up prices (1st offense) — she claimed that’s the price because it’s 2 separate hairstyles and cost of the hair The hair DID NOT LAST… it was the WORST hair I have EVER USED!!!!! It shed and tangled like CRAZY!! And when I told her assistant the assistant told ME to tell her the hair is bad (at that point I already knew I wasn’t coming back) When the assistant would braid my hair, she kept breaking my hair.. you know how when one or 2 strands get caught or tangled? She KEPT just breaking it off When I got the hairstyle, I left with my track showing… I couldn’t really tell until I had someone taller than me take a picture (I was a trade student who just moved to FL alone) … I simply ignored it even tho it bothered me, but when the boys from school and men from work started commenting I became VERY insecure … I also paid over $600 for the style, more than what I made a week. (RANDOM SideNote: my anxiety at the time was very high & when it was, confrontation wasn’t happening & unwise decisions were also made. Please have empathy) I was trying to make the style last as long as I could, so against my better judgement and advice, I went back to have my hair washed & cornrows re-done. Same thing with the assistant & the braids. Same thing with the doing multiple heads at once THIS PUT THE ICING IN THE CAKE —- BEFORE I set my appt, I asked for price this time 🥳 … she told me “$120”… which I thought was expensive but again I was trying to get my monies worth (I know, where’s the logic🤦🏾‍♀️) (Went to MULTIPLE stylist afterwards WHO agreed I was OVER OVER CHANGED and $120 - $150) would have been the cost of the entire style, w/o hair included) —- because she doesn’t focus on one person at a time, I didn’t have enough time to get my hair washed and done before work (over 5 hours given) — so she ONLY washed the front and braided the front (no more than 8-10 big cornrows) —they say she’ll discount me since I didn’t do full service ….. when I get to the register to pay I hear her “whispering” to the assistant about what she’s going to charge me, how she’s going to drop the price, 🤬 came back to me and said “$120” I really can’t wrap my head around how she’s successful with ONLY 5 star reviews because my experience wasn’t great and I’m scarred because I decided to give more than one try to be overcharged and unsatisfied and have a high maintenance hairstyle that didn’t even look good after 3 weeks because it shed so much And for the price thing, I truly believe she started making up prices because I was watching videos from my pole classes while she was doing my hair. So she probably thought I’m a dancer getting to the BAAAAG and willing to pay that ridiculous price and started making things up. Also the lady who referred me (she has Caucasian hair type & skin color) is well off. I’m sure if her daughter, who’s not much younger than myself, had a similar experience to mine, she wouldn’t pleased. Still very hurt and scarred by this experience and haven’t been in a chair since. Got my hair done to “cheer myself up” and feel pretty for the first time in a long time Photos included show all 3 styles. $900 worth of hair and styling here… what y’all think? Taye is a profesional, increíble hair stylist! She is a master at hair extensions and color. When I say I am ecstatic that I booked here... I mean it! From the moment I even called to book I was warmly greeted and provided a booking time that was extremely convenient. Listennnnn... I took my daughter here to get a blow out. Taye did an AMAZING JOB!My daughter hair wasn't in the best of shape. We had a treatment done. She took her time and made it look absolutely AMAZING!! She's very professional. The salon is so chic ,cute and CLEAN!!! Don't hesitate to go here. Her expertise and skill with hair extensions, weaving and color is unsurpassed. I always have a fantastic experience at Taye’s Salon. Not only is Taye very consistent and knowledgeable about hair in general, her shop also provides great pricing and fantastic customer service.
