I highly recommend this place because Nayra does an excellent job waxing my eyebrow’s besides that she does my mother’s highlights which leaves my mother feeling glamorous after lol , I truly appreciate the service here as a client for so long I can say this is the best salon located on mermaid ! the owner is really friendly & respectful towards everyone😌

Hair for U is the Best Hair Salon in Coney Island for over 20+ years. Nayda the stylist is Awesome. She Caters to all hair types and Style. She always Welcomes you with her smiles. The owner Edwin Cosme and his wife are very Hospitable and offers great Customer Service. During the holidays they provide snacks and a Holiday toast..Love them Dearly

They damage peoples hair ! They use way to much heattt and burns the hair off . The stylist doesn’t know how to so African Americans hair but she lies so you can pay her to do it . Update : I returned to the salon 2 weeks later upon request from the owner. Both the owner & stylist refused to take accountability (as you see the comments ) they responded unprofessionally stating “ what do you want me to do now that your hair is damaged “?…. Very unprofessional. Once again I don’t recommend shopping here 🤷🏾‍♀️. I have a paper trail of documents, photos & videos of being seated & styled at this location !!

This has been the worst hair experience of my life . My natural hair has been completely ruined/damaged at this salon. My hair texture completely changed after coming here, I had to cut off 4 inches of hair due to the heat damage . . I highly don’t recommend coming here if you have natural hair (4type ) they use way to much heattt and then try to blame the customer for the damages . Prior to booking my appointment I asked if the stylist as experience with African American hair type .. she lied and said “yes.. 22 years of experience “. Even though it’s clear she doesn’t have adequate experience with different hair types and porosity types. The stylist uses ONE straightening technique for everyone’s hair (1A-4C ) This is establishment is absolutely unprofessional and provides atrocious services !! STAY FAR AWAY .

I would NOT recommend this place if you are a person of color. If you have 4C hair don’t even think about it. This salon charges OUTRAGEOUS PRICES for natural hair. They are also do not do silk presses and are very unprofessional.

Been going to this salon for about 3 years now, the hairstylist there are very good, I love from the moment I walk in they already know what I need and how to style my hair. The owners is also very nice and professional love this place I would highly recommend anyone needing to do your hair in this area to come here!
