I have never left a hair salon more disappointed than I did today. I have also never left a hair salon looking the exact same as before I walked in. To be fair, most of my disappointment was my own fault for thinking that I could get a haircut in Chicago without it costing me a fortune. I still wish the website would have been a bit clearer in the descriptions of services. I already have another hair appointment booked at another place to try to see if I can get the cut I wanted.

I had the same hairdresser for 21 years before moving to Chicago, and I struggled for a while to find the right fit here as not all hairdressers know their way around curly hair. Absolutely hands down my favorite hairstylist. As an actor my look is constantly changing or needing to stay exactly the same. Sometimes both at the same time. communication with my hairstylist is the most important thing and Marybeth hits it out of the park every time. She’s wonderful to be around, she’s wonderful at her job, she’s a small business owning badass and i’m So thankful to have found her. Get your hair did and hair girl hair.

For a men's cut, not the best. When I got home I spent half an hour fixing up my hair because she had missed so many uneven hairs on the side. I'm really disappointed that a $50 haircut did such a shoddy job

As someone new to the city and struggling to find a hairstylist I was confident in, Marybeth was exactly what I was searching for! Not only did she help me find a cut and style that I loved, she also encouraged me to have some fun and try something new (like have the courage to dye my hair blue!). Speaking of, her color treatments are done totally professional and with great quality work. Marybeth is friendly and puts all her customers at ease. I highly suggest her and I’m glad to see her with her own salon!

I've been going to Marybeth for about six years now, and I NEVER leave disappointed! Every time I go in for a cut/color, she listens to my vision, will throw out suggestions (without being pushy for her own sake, which I've experienced elsewhere... she truly aims to give you EXACTLY what you want) and then somehow manages to make it look even better than what I imagined in the first place! Marybeth cares so much about her clients, that she will go out of her way to make sure you're comfortable, happy, and feel well taken care of - be it your first, or ninth time seeing her. I haven't felt so comfortable and confident in any other salon, or under anyone else's scissors. I won't be going anywhere else!

She always finds time for me, even though I’m not great about booking appts in advance - I’m always last minute. Plus, she doesn’t cost too much. Really appreciate her & highly recommend.

Marybeth is such an amazing hair stylist and such a wonderful person. Her salon is so quaint and homey, I felt comfortable right away. She had a great variety of tea and coffee which was much needed since I had an early morning appointment. ha ha. She actually fit me in an hour before she officially opened which I really appreciated! I left that day with a great haircut and soft and great smelling hair. She even curled my hair for no extra charge when I told her I was going to a baby shower later in the day. Marybeth is definitely the stylist to go to for all your hair care needs.

Marybeth is without a doubt the best hairstylist I’ve ever been to. She reaaalllly knows her stuff, but sincerely listens to you and what you want, as well as being sure to take care of your hair in the most healthy way possible. When I wanted to try creative color, she made it feel healthy and the cut feel great. When that got to be too much to upkeep, she took me to a gorgeous warm brown with balayage. She’s good with cuts and colors and has a great personality. I haven’t STOPPED recommending her!

One day I was on the train and saw this girl with amazing hair. I asked her where she got her hair done and I called and booked a appointment with Marybeth a hour later. She’s been cutting, coloring and doing my hair for events ever since. She listens to what I want and delivers it every single time. Always making me feel amazing and beautiful. I moved to the suburbs and make the 1+ hour drive to get my hair done bc she’s that good.

Simply put, Marybeth is doing absolutely wonderful things with Hair Girl Hair! She's truly passionate about her work and it 100% shows in the quality of each and every hair cut I receive. I recently went from a hair style with very long hair to a fairly short cut (cutting off about 6 inches) and was very nervous about how it would look. It could not look more natural and sleek! I would not trust anyone else to make a change like that. She also does a wonderful job at telling me how I can style my hair at home on my own which keeps my cut looking salon quality daily!
