It was my first time getting a cut from Kim and I think it’s the best cut I’ve ever gotten. Her attention to detail was incredible, she talked everything thru with me, and it was an all around wonderful experience. 10/10, highly recommended!

I've been getting my hair cut by Kim since 2011 and colored (glazed) since 2018 for a reason—she is the best! I love Kim for so many reasons including: I can show her a bunch of pictures and say "but like, adjust as you see fit for my face shape" and she nails it every time—I have weird cowlicks and a ton of fine hair and Kim turns that mess into a perfect bob every time; she listens in other ways, and lets you determine the level of conversation you're in the mood for; she is consistent (and consistently excellent); and her shop is so clean and fun to be in—there's always something cool to look at while she does your hair. When I call to schedule appointments, she always gets back to me in <24 hours, and when I call with an emergency (like, all of a sudden my bangs are too long), she finds a way to squeeze me in. I cannot stress enough how amazing Kim is.

I've been seeing Kim to get my hair cut every 6-8 weeks for the past three years. She is truly excellent at what she does, is very hip and artistic, and knows what is currently in style. I definitely trust her to keep my hair looking fresh. Kim is so meticulous, and really takes the time to make sure your haircut is just right -- you will not go home to find a bunch of stray long hairs around your ears! She is down to earth and easy to chat with, but also easy to not chat with, if you just want to chill and be silent. And as a queer sort of butch person, I appreciate that Kim gives me exactly the haircut I want and doesn't try to femme it up in ways I don't want, because that has happened to me many times at many salons over the years. Kim really is the best!

Kim is an amazing stylist! I booked my first appointment with out knowing much besides I wanted a major chop. She was so great about making sure I had the perfect style and did an incredible job! The cut and style were absolutely perfect and I couldn't be happier with her service.

This is the best haircut I’ve had in many, many years. Though I am tempted to keep Hair Greenpoint a secret because it is such a cool find, that wouldn’t be fair to Kim, so here it is: I have wavy, slightly curly fine hair that can look great with a good cut; proper layers, proportions, length, it can also look truly awful with a bad cut. When I contacted Kim, she asked several questions about my hair before scheduling an appointment. When I arrived she was ready for my appointment and spent some time analyzing my hair and talking to me about what I wanted before cutting - then she did exactly what I had pictured (I find this rare). In addition, the space is very unique and original, and I found Kim very pleasant and easy to talk to and also to not talk to - it was a relaxing experience. I received compliments on my hair in the following days from my husband, sister, and even my 90 year old father in law :) I will be back!

I've been going to Kim for 6+ years. I have very thick, unruly curly hair and she always takes such care to make a cut that will not only look good that month but will grow out nicely too. She's definitely an artist and craftsperson, as you can see by her glass sculptures and ceramics around the salon. She puts the same thought into shaping your cut as she does into her artwork. We've tried all kinds of looks together and I always appreciate her candor in what would work and what would fail with my ornery curls. She rocks.
