I was in LA for a concert about 2 weeks ago and had time to kill. Was feeling spontaneous and decided to get a haircut with the couple hours I had. I started googling places and all the reviews for this salon were great. I was skeptical at first from the picture of the outside but I called and Julie was able to get me in super fast. She could also quote me over the phone what her starting prices were (which I thought was too good to be true) something that a lot of salons don’t like to disclose until you’re in their chair. It was a relaxing atmosphere. The service came with shampoo and conditioner and the full haircut. Julie was so genuine and you could tell she truly loves her job. She keeps her prices affordable for the average person as myself which I appreciated so much. Please support small businesses like this salon as Julie is the owner and only stylist, it’s hard to keep busy when there’s so many other salons in LA. In the end, I came out loving my haircut and know if I’m in LA and in need of a random haircut again, I will definitely be going back.

I have been going to her since 2019 and she is the sweetest, most talented hairdresser I have ever had. She has taught me how to take care of my hair over the years and always treats me like family. She constantly has customers driving an hour away just to see her. I highly recommend her!

julie is amazing! i was looking for something local for a trim and was able to get in for a walk in. i have difficult hair and normally have bad experiences with haircuts, but julie gave me the best haircut i’ve had in years. she is incredibly experienced and affordable. 10/10 recommend, will definitely be coming back!

I called Julie to book a blow out + style while staying in Hollywood for a week. She was most helpful and shared many tips and tricks to care for my hair in the future. She will show you how to make your own leave in conditioner that will last for a long time. The price was very affordable for the area of town. She does great work and takes pride in her beautiful business. Show her some love when you are in the area!

I have visited Hair People at least once a month for the last two or three years now, and I hope to keep visiting for many years to come. I can't rave about Ms. Julie enough. Her prices are the most affordable I've found in the city without sacrificing quality. Like some other people in this town. I trust literally no one else but her. She knows what's en vogue, and she will let you know if you're about to make a terrible mistake. I know because I have suggested many horrific cuts and each time she held me by the hand, looked me in the eyes, and honestly replied, “No.” I'm so happy she saved me for myself. She cares about her customers and her community, and it shows. She’ll always share her coffee, and if you’re lucky she’ll give you literal fruit from her backyard. I don't know what I would do without her. Best part, she’s affordable!

This hair salon is a hidden gem in hollywood. it’s next to wild card gym. Prices are very reasonable and the owner Juli is the best at what she does She also was in Jimmy kimmel for many years. Hairs off to juli. the best

I love Julie! I have been visiting her for many years now. She always takes such good care of me. She's LGBTQ friendly and always makes me feel so welcome. And her ideas for what to do with my hair are always spot on. THE BEST!!!

Based on reviews, it seems to be a very good place for haircut, but it is not. Price is also expensive partially due to the location.

Julie is the best. I come regularly for cuts but this time I went for a perm, my first. She made sure what I wanted and talked me through it. I am very happy with how it turned out. I knew it’d be great because Julie wouldn’t let me get something that wouldn’t look good on me or work with my hair type. Bonus: her prices are great too.

Julie is wonderful. You can call her and book an appointment in less than a minute, she is very easy to talk to when actually getting your hair cut (and extremely interesting), and she is one of the only places in Hollywood that offers affordable prices for haircuts that isn’t some chain. I’ve never left her shop unhappy in 3 years of her cutting my hair.

I’ve been coming to Julie for my haircut for over a year now and right off the bat you can tell she honestly cares about her customers. You show her a photo of what you want done and she nails it every time! She doesn’t charge obscene amounts of money like most other barbers in LA. Julie is very friendly and easy to talk to which makes for a very enjoyable haircut experience.

Julie is without a doubt my favorite hairdresser that i’ve ever had. I don’t think i’ve ever had a bad haircut in the many years I’ve been coming to her. All she needs is a photo example and she will tell you how she plans to cut your hair or if your hair type won’t work for the specific style you’re looking for and will patiently wait for you to look up other hair styles. She is the only person in LA that I trust to take a blade to my neck and clean up any stray hairs. I appreciate her care and attention to detail and recommend her to anyone who’s in need of a haircut.

This review is long overdue - Julie is simply amazing! I have been with Julie for over two years now for haircuts and hair coloring, which are always on point. She offers great suggestions so my hair looks classic but current and is so thoughtful to check-in and make sure I'm comfortable with how the cut is going. Highly recommend Julie at Hair People!

Worst hair cut in my entire life! Only reason I went was I needed a cut and keratin treatment what I got was flat head and lost all my volume. Definitely want my money back! Over $100 for a terrible haircut. Looks like it’s hats for me until my hair grows back. Waste of money.
