I’ve been coming to Salon Musa to get my hair cut for the last 4 years. For one of those years, I lived in San Francisco, and still waited to save my haircuts for when I visited NYC. I have thick, coarse Asian hair and Bushi is the only person who I can count on to cut it well. He is also always a delight to chat with and gives the best recs on Japanese food in the city.

I had an amazing experience at Hair Salon MUSA! Bushi did an incredible job with my hair treatment and blowout. The service was top-notch—professional, attentive, and so, so good. I left the salon feeling super happy with the results and will definitely be back soon. Highly recommend!

Abby is a sweetheart first of all and I have had the pleasure of her working on me twice now. this time she did highlights and blonding on my hair and ordered seamlessly matching Ktip extensions which I’ve never tried. She is so meticulous with her work and placement and gave me the best blending style & cut!

My wife and I have both been getting our hair cut by Bushi for some twenty years now. He is just the best at what he does and unfailingly gives us both an excellent cut and style every time. He is especially expert at working with Asian hair but is truly adept with all types of hair. He has decades of experience and is an incomparable technician but also a very talented stylist-- and just overall lovely human being! You can bring him reference photos of how you’d like to look, and he is expert at crafting a cut that both speaks to your style but is also maximally flattering for you based on your proportions and shape. The location is in a very charming part of Soho, and the salon is a well-curated, comfortable, warm and friendly environment.

Loved my experience at Musa. Abby is great, she listened to what I was looking for and gave me her expert opinion on the haircut and toner best suited for my face shape, hair condition, and skin tone. She knew exactly where she wanted to place the foils for my partial highlights as soon as I sat in her chair and it gave major hair upgrades. She’s got great taste!

Absolutely phenomenal, stellar work! I get compliments on my haircut all the time. I can't imagine going anywhere else. Update: I moved away but I miss Bushi and Kyle already! My last balayage and cut are growing out beautifully even months later - they're just that skilled! Go see them, you'll be glad you did.

Got a haircut with Rebecca, she was very professional at suggesting, and explaining how the haircut will be, she is very good at layering and handling mid-part hairstyles. Overall, I am very satisfied with my haircut, and looking forward to coming back next time😊😊 The place is super nice and staff is super polite, which leaves comforting post-feelings

Great hair salon and very affordable. Both Bushi and Rebecca are very skilled. I have not tried the hair coloring but it's pretty well known their hair colorists are legit. Went and again , they do such a good job giving you the cut you want. Highly recommend.

This is my second time with Rebecca. Had gotten so many compliments on my cut the first time that I decided to come back. Asked for bangs, which she agreed would look good for my face shape. She simply flipped some strands over my face and cut in a line over my eyes. The result is very short, uneven, choppy, and blunt bangs. The bangs don't even cover my entire forehead. I paid $93 (including tip). Rebecca does an amazing job with layers and simple trims, but I think $90 is very overpriced for those services.
