Do not waste your time booking here. If you are myself looking to support black women in business go somewhere else where you are appreciated and valued. I originally booked an appointment through the booking site (which they charge a 50% deposit upfront) I had no problem with a deposit I was just excited to support, I had an emergency come up a few days prior to and needed to reschedule however through the site it wasn’t an option to reschedule so I cancelled so my card would not be charged (I cancelled 3 days prior to). As I stated I had an emergency come up and I was originally going to just dispute the deposit however I decided to give the salon a chance instead of just going through banks I called into the salon and explained the situation and asked if I could get a new appointment to save my deposit at first the OWNER just says no then I proceeds to say I can dispute it as I will not overpay for a service, then she says she didn’t see any appointments for the day I had cancelled, I had to screenshot her the canceled appointment (clearly issues with her booking site and you would think she would see that), then her next lie was I wasn’t charged the deposit. I told her I was and I could prove that . She said if I could prove that I was charged she would honor it this one time and I was ok with that I sent her yet another screenshot in which she claims she didn’t get the money she needed to check but would reach out to me the next day. As you can guess I never got a answer. Looking at her responses to previous bad reviews you can see the rude attitude she already has it’s pathetic that as a owner you care to not make things right however my bank has disputed the charge regardless. Save yourself time this owner is extremely rude and ignores any mistakes she can fix. UPDATE: As you can see I had to come to google for a simple response .. let this be yet another reason you don’t book. Owner stated she would reach back out but only responded under a review pathetic and unprofessional case rested!

I like this hair salon. Maurice was my hairdresser and he was welcoming and very friendly. I will make this my regular salon. I was very pleased. They also have a barber, so I will be bringing my brother as well. Thanks, Maurice!

My experience was very good, i got some cornrows trusted her to freestyle and it came out beautifully. I normally would not let anyone do my hair been that way my whole life , so I took a chance . My stylist was amazing (Korinne) she took her time the atmosphere was awesome , also I love the salon and how it’s just enough not to much . Definitely will be back .

Service: Quickset w/bob cut, discounted price $125 Style was unwearable. I was told by the stylist that the most of what you see here was normal and done on purpose. Little accountability for the how it came out. The stylist covered the unwearable portions and took pictures for marketing. Also, had my real hair cut by mistake. Disappointed in the way the issue was handled and lack of concern for hair health. My edges were completely bonded down unnecessarily with quickset protectant and Got-2-B glued. Disappointed that the stylist didn't proactively try to fix it, acknowledge it as their error, or honestly even say "sorry". I really try to support local businesses and stylists so it's disappointing all around. I contacted the stylist immediately once I got home and realized how unwearable the style was. They offered me to come back in but maintained that the back and one of the sides looked that way on purpose.. The stylist added more to the back at my request and removed the excess cap from the back at my request. Not sure why I needed to request that? All of these photos were immediately following the initial appointment. I am disappointed that this is the salons idea of good work but more disappointed in the responses that came after and how I was treated, much of which isn't detailed here.

Wow the review below is so disheartening.. sorry the person was treated like that… that is not how a quick weave should look.. based on the details you’ve shared… and to see the owner of this shop being fanatical about dismissing her responsibility in this situation is really telling.. if you can’t guarantee everyone who occupies your salon space can assure hair health for every client that enters your establishment, why even own a shop? … I bet she insures she gets that booth rent every month.. hmm thanks for the tip Mari. Marice McDowell is a beast when it comes to hair. He is very professional. Not only can he slay weave but he makes sure your real hair is healthy and that for me is a plus.

I have been going to Shanae for several years! I can always count on her to be available to save the day and get my hair together. She has done my blowouts, color, sew-in, quick weave, ponytails, trims, and whatever else I want to try. She’s my go-to girl!

I went in a little nervous, not myself and mid length hair. I was reassured and wonderfully taken care of. Shanae was very sweet, and amazingly artistic. She really did such a wonderful surprise. I put full confidence in her and her work and she did not disappoint at all. I highly recommend her and her services. I will be going back for a color soon as well.

Shanae gave me a crochet style that I loved, it was my first time trying crochet hair. I’ve gone back for another crochet style by Shanae, she is the best and my new stylist. I definitely recommend Hair & Beyond.

Shanae was amazing! When I walked in, she was ready for me. She didn’t even finish eating as she wanted to get started on my hair. It’s a cute shop, nicely decorated and clean, although I believe they were still making some renovations. Shanae scrubbed the hell out of my scalp and it’s never felt cleaner. My haircut was exactly what I asked for, cute, precise and manageable. I’ve gotten lots of compliments on it. I plan to visit her every few weeks. I searched a long time for a good shop. I think I’ve finally found it.

The receptionist was very polite and friendly she made me feel comfortable...and offered me a water. My stylist was Shanae the owner..and she was very attentive to my hair care needs..she was very creative with the style she chose for me. I will recommend this salon to everyone and I will be back again..thanks Shanae and hair and beyond.

Top quality experience.I have lived in NC for several months and could not fine someone to do my hair like I was use to having it done in NYC. Walk in the salon and Shanae knew just what I was looking for. I felt amazing and looked amazing walking out. My mom liked mine so much she made an appointment the very next day. Luckily she was able to squeeze her in and do a fantastic job on her hair as well. It's just a great feeling to know that we are in good hands when we are there. We are forever grateful to have meet you.
