My son saw Ms. TJ for his first haircut last week and it was a fabulous experience. She's a true pro and knows exactly how to make kids comfortable in her salon. I'd highly recommend any parents trust her with their children's hair. We'll definitely be back!

Love that an original member from Salon Red Kids in Decatur started this place...to think I have not known about it for a full year. TJ and Tiffany had cut my son’s hair at Salon Red. He loved it there. We have had a hard time finding a place that both kids loved and got good cuts at. Just was referred to TJ and Hairlarious Decatur, and we were so impressed tonight, especially the fact that my daughter decided to let her cut her hair. She has been really difficult and has thrown up from being so upset with getting her hair done. I have been trying to just cut her bangs myself. Tonight she just decided she was interested, and TJ made her feel special, and she loved it. Excited to keep on coming with the kids to this cute place. Also excited to spread the word and get TJ really busy.

Ms. TJ is absolutely wonderful! We took our son to Hairlarious Haircuts last week for his very first haircut and she did such a great job! She knew of all the tricks to keep him entertained and it worked like a charm. There were lots of smiles all around and no tears -- definitely a success!

We’ve seen Ms. TJ only a couple times and had a great experience each time! My daughter still talks about wanting to sit in the red fire truck lol. I especially liked how the bangs were cut perfectly, even when they grew out they were still very even. Unfortunately we’ve moved away but hope to see her again next time we’re in town!

My kids (4 & 7) used to hate getting their hair cut. They would fuss and cry as they sat in the hairdressers chair, as if they were at the doctor getting shots! A friend of mine referred us to Ms. TJ and Hairlarious Haircuts and we haven’t looked back - with the entire experience catered to their individual preferences, my kids love seeing Ms. TJ and getting their hair cut! They choose their own shows to watch on their personal tv screen and sit STILL in the fire truck chair while Ms. TJ works her magic. When they see Ms TJ, my kids feel like real VIPs, they get the best haircuts, and they beg me to go back soon! I highly recommend Ms. TJ and Hairlarious Haircuts.

Our first hair cut for our almost 3 year old and it was the best experience I could have hoped for. Ms. TJ was wonderful and engaging and knew exactly how to put Charlie at ease. She is already excited to get her next haircut! Ms. TJ went above and beyond with treats and glitter and I am SO thankful we found her!

TJ was incredible. My two year old didn’t cry for the first time ever getting his haircut with TJ!! She paused and was patient with him when he started getting nervous. She had lots of fun toys to distract and entertain him. She made a haircut a fun experience for everyone involved, and the cut is precious. I finally feel like I don’t have to dread going to get my son’s haircut! And I know that my son will have a positive experience in her care. It is worth every penny!

Hands down the only person who cuts my son’s hair well! Ms TJ has been cutting my son’s hair for over 5 years and she does an exceptional job every single time. Over the years she has adjusted appointment lengths to fit our needs based on the type of cut needed. Highly recommend!

***Edited- I read some threads on a local Facebook group and other patrons we're also confused about the pricing discrepancy on the website vs what's actually charged. I'm sorry that I made the assumption that I was scammed, I just honestly couldn't figure out another explanation for it. It looks as if the website has been updated with the full cost listed next to the name of the cut but another cost is listed after the description so it is still pretty confusing. Knowing what I know now, it was a fine haircut but really high prices.*** I'm happy with my son's hair cut and Ms. TJ has a good set up in her suite. It was a good experience up until we were about to leave when Ms. TJ said that my 5 y/o's 20 minute haircut was $40, that I had only been charged for half the haircut upon booking and i owed her $20. I was taken aback and said that that was not how I remembered it, that I had been charged $25 for the whole haircut. She insisted that I owe her $20 and told me to venmo her. I was flustered because I had both my kids with me so I just paid her. One I got home I looked at my email receipt from the booking and reviewed her website and it was clear she scammed me. I had mentioned during the haircut that we were visiting from out of town so she clearly didn't have much regard for us since we wouldn't be a repeat customer. She has not returned my call and did not respond to my message on venmo asking for my money back. It felt lousy to be taken advantage of especially because it seems like she is held in high regard within the community. If you're planning to go for just one haircut, have your wits about you.

Ms TJ is amazing! My toddler used to cry getting his haircut at other places but when he gets to sit in Ms TJs fire truck and get his haircut with her there are no tears! Couldn’t recommend her more! She is not the cheapest kids haircut in the area but we have tried others and I will gladly pay more for the quality of the cut and the experience for my child.

Ms. TJ worked wonders with my son’s hair. She makes kids feel comfortable in the space and he now looks forward to all his haircuts. Would totally recommend going to Hairlarious Haircuts.

Ms. TJ is a wonderful person! We took our young son for his first haircut and she made it an experience that we all enjoyed! She was so thoughtful in how she was interacting with him and made the hair cut so much fun for him that he is excited to go back again! He also left feeling so good about himself and his “big boy haircut.”

Ms. TJ was beyond wonderful for my daughter's first haircut! She has EVERYTHING - toys, cartoons, treats, a fire truck seat, and a bubbly disposition. My daughter absolutely loved it and we will definitely return. Thanks, Ms. TJ!

TJ gave a great haircut but as others have said, the pricing is not transparent. Her website lists the price for a first-time haircut as $23, which we paid in full ahead of time. But then she said we had a balance of $17 AFTER the haircut. I called to clarify later and she said that both the website and the text we received said we were only paying 50% ahead of time, but that’s not true. I even started the booking process for a new appt to double check, and it says clearly that you are providing “full pre-payment.” $45 for an 18 minute appt with a 20 month old is not appropriate when I thought I was paying half of that. Also the 50% claim makes no sense if we paid $23 ahead of time and the balance was $17…? Customers, confirm the price before your appointment! TJ, we’d love to return but please update your website and automatic texts for future customers.

Friendly but not upfront about pricing. The salon is difficult to get into, especially whenever her phone isn't working. Could be cleaner. Overall 3/5 experience.

My son had a wonderful experience with Miss TJ. I am choosing to leave this review after an unresolved issue regarding the cost. I had prepaid for a two year old haircut and then at the appointment she told me I owed 25 more making it a $45 haircut for a 2 year old. When I got home, I reviewed the pricing on the website and cannot figure out why I was charged so much. I tried to resolve the issue by emailing and texting TJ but did not receive a response. The haircut experience itself was positive, but I would recommend confirming the price before starting even if you pre-pay

TJ was the best kids hair stylist I’ve ever met. My son has sensory processing disorder and has an awful time getting his hair cut. I was shocked when he not only sat for her but also laughed. When we left my daughter said “ I want to get my hair cut there.” We will definitely be back !

Ms. TJ made our son’s first haircut a smooth and fun experience and was so thoughtful to make him as comfortable as possible during the whole process. Not to mention the cut looks adorable. We highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Our almost year and a half loved his experience at Hilarious Haircuts. The appointment time started on time with no wait. We loved how kid friendly the space was. Free parking with easy to find parking was really nice. We will definitely be returning.

Brought my 20 month old for his first haircut today and had the best experience! Ms. TJ did a great job with his hair and he had fun! She has little stuffed animals and music makers to keep them occupied, in addition to TVs for them to watch their favorite show. We will definitely be back.

Brought my almost two year old to TJ today and it turned out to be such a fun experience. My son loved it,! TJ has it all - great chair to distract the kids, she moves as they move, entertains through and through and.... a great haircut. Can't recommend enough - easy parking as well.

First time customer with TJ and we will be back for future cuts! The setup is super friendly for kids, we got the exact cut we wanted, and our son got some fun red color in his hair. Our years long search for a great kid’s cut is over.

Misleading and dishonest pricing. You book and get charged for service then asked to pay again. Disappointed in communication and won’t return.
