I felt that Iris did a really good job cutting my hair. We went over my Pinterest ideas and it was executed carefully and amazingly. It’s been several days and I still love it. The confidence I have gained from this service has really improved my life. Thank you for listening and helping me look the way I imagined myself looking.

My stylist for years, totally with an old school Portland vibe. I go to Iris and she's always sure you feel like her top priority. I've never had a bad haircut and my hair is a little challenging (long, fine 3A textured hair and an undercut, so it's easy to have it lay wrong ). Fellow neurodivergents who get anxious about making small talk while being held captive in a chair: Iris is awesome at asking compelling questions to make you think, but she's also the stylist I've had the best long, comfortable silences with. She also always asks before she does something/if something feels ok. Overall, I love this gem and my hair looks great. Every other stylist I've interacted with is awesome as well and I wouldn't be mad if they had to take over my appointment, Iris is just my only experience!

Ginger was so amazing. She understood exactly what I was asking for and made it happen! The communication was great, the vibe was super fun, and it was a great time. If you have curly/wavy hair I absolutely recommend getting your hair done here. *chefs kiss*

I live Kimmy and her salon. I’ve been going for years and I love every cut and color. And the salon is so cute and quirky. And vegan! Highly recommend!

Was looking for a local hairstylist for a couple haircuts and went in as walk-in at about 3:30 and the stylist, Iris, was very nice and my mom’s hair looked great but, when I got home and got a better look in the mirror, mine was lopsided and noticeably shorter on one side. I had to go somewhere else to get it fixed so, it was kind of disappointing.

Some of the most cool and chillax salons in the area! Everyone here is so friendly and welcoming, and are so eager to actually help with you get the best hair you want! In particular, Iris is an amazing stylist and such a nice person! Would highly recommend this awesome shop!

Amy did an amazing job with my wavy hair. She cut it dry to see how the layers would fall with my curl pattern and it ended up being one of my favorite haircuts I’ve had so far. 10/10 do recommend

Ginger is a live saver!! her short cuts, fringe and layers cannot be beat. my sister gets their hair done by Ginger, and i had a lil hair disaster that prompted me to call Hairodactyl. Ginger gave me a chemical cut that flatters the damaged texture to where it looks entirely intentional. she took her time with dry cutting so that we found a length and cut i was comfortable with, which was absolutely stellar. she also went VERY out of her way to get a bondage treatment for me to try to repair the texture. we made a plan to play with different cuts and colors on the blond as it grows out so i can get back to virgin hair (at which point i will most likely let Ginger go to town with fashion colors!!). i cannot emphasize how much confidence and assurance i got from Ginger after a hair nightmare. 1000000% would recommend this salon for funky, custom cuts and creative colors, with all the knowledge and attention that comes with bleaching and maintenance. Ginger was fabulous! First hairdresser I've had post-pandemic. Previously, I had gone feral, and was cutting my own hair. This time, I tried to give myself a pixie cut. It did not turn out well. Happily, a Hairodactyl appointment was readily available. The whole shop has a very inviting, welcoming vibe. Ginger was so kind! She explained everything she was doing and why, and cleaned up my disaster into a really awesome cut!

I found this gem a few months ago, and I am so glad I did. Now, our whole family goes here for our hair needs. My 4 year old absolutely loves both stylists we've seen, Kimmy and Ginger, and they're both very gentle with her. She asks to see them when she wants a haircut. Prices are incredibly fair. Greta, the shop pup and door greeter is also very cute and friendly.

I was looking for a new place to get my hairs done. The last salon I went to was...a vibe I wasn't into. However I had been eyeing this place for a while and was happy to get an appt. Amy was incredible. She was warm and had some great ideas on what I should do with my unruly hair. Once we're done, a literal weight felt lifted off me and I've had many compliments. Plus for requiring masks (I am immunocompromised a lot) and being queer-friendly. I think I found my place. Thank you Amy!

Iris cut my hair and I haven’t been this happy with a haircut in YEARS. My hair was pretty damaged and I went in a little worried because the last time my hair was cut wasn’t a great experience. Iris listened to my concerns and really took time to cut my hair and style it. I came home, looked in the mirror, and this is EXACTLY what I wanted. What’s funny is that I forgot to show the example pics of what I was looking for but Iris rolled with my terrible explanation of what I wanted and gave me an amazing haircut. Will definitely be coming back to see if we can get my hair fully healthy again :)

Omg y’all, 5 stars. I picked Hairodactyl initially because of the name, then because it’s vegan, but as I am leaving the salon, I have so many other reasons why you should go. 1-Online scheduling was actually fully functional, unlike most other places that offer it. 2- Amy was not only a fantastic stylist (cut and vivid color AWESOMENESS), but she was so sweet and really aware of my needs. As an autistic person, I am not the biggest fan of the sensory aspect of salon trips. We didn’t even discuss that part, I just mentioned in conversation that I am autistic, and without a word or any weirdness, Amy did her best to make sure I was comfortable with all the stuff and things. 3- I have been looking for somewhere to get my hair done for a while, and am baffled by how difficult other salons have made the process of scheduling, or have been told that I can’t have what I want (changing red to blue). Amy was relaxed, welcoming, and easy to work with. She made everything so comfortable and enjoyable. 4- HAIR IS AWESOME. I drove from Hillsboro to this location, and will gladly continue to do so.

The folks at Hairodactyl are always great. I work with Amy who is friendly, helpful, and gives me good hair care tips! The business is LGBT+ owned and you can absolutely tell! I love supporting fellow queer folks when I can, so even if they were just okay I would recommend them for that reason alone, but they're genuinely really good at hair care so there's two big reasons to go!

This was the first time I’ve had anything done to my hair by anyone, besides myself, in decades. Iris was wonderful! She listened to all my concerns and fears about having someone cut my hair, and she made me feel extremely comfortable. The cut turned out wonderfully, and I am so excited to try my new products! I will be back!! Can not recommend more!!!
