I’ve spent 2 years trying to find a hair stylist / salon that I trust after SO many horror stories from terrible dye jobs, hair cuts, etc. Hannah Ransom is THAT girl. Not only is she just a cool person, but she always does me right. Copper is such a tough color and she nails it every time :)

Kaique Vieira highlighted, custom toned, and cut my hair. He listened to what I was saying provided great advice based on my personal coloring and it turned out stunning. The haircut was also gorgeous. My hair has never felt healthier! Definitely will go back and highly recommend!

I am very satisfied with both my results and the service that was provided! The salon is beautiful and very clean! I have been getting my hair done by Janelle Guillen for over 4 years and she is amazing! She’s the only hair stylist that I trust to do my hair. I started going to her when she worked in LA and now I fly out to NYC because she’s that good! 10/10, the best in the game!

I booked an appointment with Hannah and it was one of the best haircuts I’ve gotten in my life. She did a beautiful job. You know it’s a good haircut when you have to do minimal styling in the morning and it looks fantastic. I’m looking forward to booking her again in the future.

I did my k-tips extensions with Janelle for the first time as I just moved in NYC and I am so so grateful I’ve found her !!! Her work is just PERFECT, as I am a model I really need discret bonds, very natural look to be able to flip my hair from one side to the other and to do all kind of hair style . And omg I’m really so impressed about how tiny and discret she had made the bonds for me!!! 🙏🏼 I had such a nice moment with her, she was super patiente and attentive to how I feel with the placement, to make sure that I was satisfied for me to go out perfectly happy of my prestation!! 🙏🏼 I am super happy and I can say that I have found my hair stylist in town!!

Mykel is a true artist! She is incredibly skilled and always knows exactly what will work best for my hair, whether I'm going for a subtle change or a complete transformation. I trust her completely with my hair, and I always leave feeling confident and happy with the results. What really sets Mykel apart though, is her positive and calming aura. Hair Throne is hands down the best salon I’ve ever been to & I’ve been a client of theirs for 4 years! Every stylist there is incredibly sweet, caring, and helpful. I can’t say enough great things about Alyssa and her assistant! From the moment I walk in, I’m always greeted with such warmth and kindness. Alyssa is incredibly talented and always takes the time to understand exactly what I want, while also offering expert advice. She prioritizes my hair looking amazing, while making sure it stays healthy and intact, which I really appreciate. My experience with Bianca (so talented) at this salon has been wonderful. From the check in process to the yummy lattes LOL. But truthfully, Bianca goes over and beyond to not only understand and Listen to your hair needs, but knows how to customize your hair wishes to YOU and that goes unnoticed. She is a perfectionist at what she does and I appreciate it. Thank you Bianca and HairThrone team for making me feel beautiful for these last few years.

Mykel is truly one of the most talented hairstylist. She knows her craft and is thoughtful with everything she does. Mykel quite literally never disappoints, and is the only person I want to cut my hair for the rest of time. Couldn’t recommend her enough!

Got turned away for my haircut today due to it being too "edgy". While I understand that, when they brought in another stylist to try and reschedule me, it felt so rude, and so condescending...like "oh you should have known better, sweetie" kind of way...they were trying to make me reschedule to a day that I had already said I was fully booked, and when i was saying that i could probably swing the reschedule during a certain window of time, the stylist said to me "I can't until "x" time, i just like, can't double book a haircut"...which....obviously, I KNOW THAT???? i dont know... the energy between those two stylists were weird...it didn't feel genuine when the first girl tried to pawn me off to begin with, it just seemed like she didn't want to be working, or like i felt already off with her. Probably wont reschedule, probably WON't be back.

Mykel at HairThrone is a magician! I stopped dying my hair after COVID given the upkeep, but as a natural brunette my hair always gets brassy. I usually opt for a gloss and trim every few months to bring it back to life. Prior to Mykel I had gone to another hair salon in the city for these services, and not only did the gloss not last as long, but I ended up looking like Lord Farquaad (yes, the guy from Shrek) after a routine trim. Leave it to Mykel — she fixed my botched hair cut without cutting any length AND gave me a fabulous shine. I left HairThrone feeling like easy, breezy, beautiful cover girl. Thank you, Mykel!!

David O’Shell colored my hair today, and he was great! He’s creative, easygoing, detail-oriented, fun to talk to, and really good at figuring out what shades/tones will flatter your skin the most (I have translucent skin that isn’t really either “warm” or “cool”, it’s kind of both, but David wasn’t daunted and knew what to do). Also the lighting at his station is ✨✨✨, so it really lends itself to selfies well & At Hair Throne you always get a complimentary coffee/latté/beverage with your service, so that was a nice bonus too!

I thought a higher priced salon would give me results I wanted but that's not the case at all. My hair came out brassy and extra dry. The hair stylist knew it but also didn't say anything. (Bianca) I still tipped well but I learned a lesson.

I see Sakura for brunette balayage and she is the best of the best. In the years I've been getting my hair colored, it's never gotten brassy when she has done my hair. The upkeep is just a toner maybe every 5 months (usually if i get keratin which lightens the color), and i just see her <1x/year. well worth the money!

Do not waste your time and money coming here ! I came here based on amazing reviews and beautiful pictures. Michael was my chosen hairstylist. I wanted a beautiful honey balayage, with cooler tones as opposed to the orangey tones brunettes usually end up with. After explaining my goals to Michael, he made me feel extremely confident that he could do the job. The whole process of bleaching and toning took about 4 hours. 4 hours in which I was treated poorly with Michael making me go up and down and switching chairs as clearly the salon was overbooked. So here I was with a full head of foils being dragged around up and down flights of stairs so Michael could check my hair and wash off. Once he washed off the bleach and did the toning, to my absolute horror, my highlights were silver !!!! He had aged me 20 years and I was horrified. He said « isn’t it gorgeous?! » to which I responded « omg absolutely not I did not want silver highlights!! » He proceeded to say « you’re right let’s warm the highlights up » Another 30 minutes later, I was sick to my stomach to see absolutely no difference to the hair I came in with, the highlights were now not visible. After spending a total of 6 hours at this salon, I did not have it in me to to try to lighten up again. I was not given a discount for my hair goals not being met whatsoever. I went home $500 poorer with completely fried hair that looked the exact same as it did when I walked in. 0/10 experience!!!

Every stylist at Hairthrone just oozes with talent!! There’s nowhere else I’d trust with my hair. I particularly love to see Mykel - she’s a gem of a person and is seriously so insanely talented. If you’re looking for a colorist, look no more! She’s especially incredible at blonde/balayage and I always leave with my jaw on the floor at how good my hair looks.

I’m always happy with my how my hair turns out. An added plus is that she is incredibly sweet and kind so she makes appointments a joy. 100% recommend Mykel - you’ll get endless compliments on your hair!

So incredibly lucky to have found Mykel at Hairthrone! Not only does she achieve my dream blonde every time, but she keeps my hair healthy with no damage. Her cuts are amazing too! She really listens to what you want while keeping things realistic - which is so important to find in a hairstylist. Could not recommend her more to blonde and brunettes alike!

I have to say this review is not a reflection on the stylists at all. Hair throne is amazing and they always do such a great job. Unfortunately the receptionist is extremely rude and unprofessional. I had a 4pm appointment and i received a text at 3:40pm as i am on my way to my appointment if i can come in at 5:30pm. I explained to them i don't live in the city and cannot wait around for an hour and half especially with the short notice. The receptionist was telling me i was going to be charged when i was already at the salon waiting . I finally spoke to the stylist and she was very understanding and tried to accommodate changing my appointment to a different date without charging me due to the last minute notice. Unfortunately though, how the situation was handled put an extremely bad taste in my mouth. It is not a cheap service, and to do that to a customer is just unacceptable . Receptionist needs to be trained on how to appropriately trouble shoot situations.

If you’re thinking about booking with Bianca, I would not. She double booked my time slot and her assistant Juliana did 80% of the work - the mixing, the blow drying part, the washing, the toning, the placement of the products, the constant checking. If I wanted it to be done by Juliana I would’ve booked with Juliana. I so wish I booked with someone else. I barely talked to Bianca or saw her. At one point there were 3 people waiting on her with heads half done. I had my appointment at 1, we didn’t start til 1:40, and didn’t finish til 7 for a full highlight. At first when they blow dried it, the color was not it. She had to correct it because the toner was not mixed by her. Color ended out okay but not worth it for over $700 AND this doesn’t include a haircut. There are too many places in nyc to be treated like this. Make sure the colorist is the one actually doing the work.
