As one of Liz’s first clients, I can safely say you’re in good hands. Living far away, it was so good visit the salon on a recent trip to New York. It’s a beautiful, bright, spotless space - living up to Liz’s high standards and attention to detail. For my recent wedding day I wouldn’t have trusted anyone else with my hair. Liz prepped me on how to prepare my hair in the lead up, which products to use, and styled it perfectly on the day. Liz’s magic is she truly cares about her clients - you’ll always leave the salon feeling heard AND with beautiful hair!

Liz is amazing! I learned of her through friends and although I don’t get my hair colored she has helped me grow my hair out to be super healthy full and shiny. She is a master with keratin and saved my wedding by helping me with an emergency keratin just before the big day! Liz is the best 😘😘😘

My favorite salon in the city; not only is it a beautiful space, but everyone is so kind and talented. Personally, I’ve been going to Liz for 4+ years now and am absolutely devoted to the artistry and care she has for every client. People are shocked when I mention I get highlights because the end result has a “your hair but better” effortless look to it. Given how intimate the space is, you get to see the work of other stylists as well. I’ve seen incredible hair transformations and have only seen happy clients when I’m in the salon. I recommend Hairwell to all of my friends.

Taryn is my favorite person on this planet!! Not only is she hilarious, she does the most beautiful blonde I’ve truly ever seen. I have never gotten more compliments on my hair than after Taryn started doing it! HIGHLY recommend her and will be seeing her always and forever.

COVID Update: this is the safest experience you could ask for. Temp checks for everyone, masks work the entire time, and you're in a private room. Liz takes zero risks here. The space is clean, beautiful and comfortable. I've been seeing Liz since our Chicago days (5+ years i believe)- my family even jokes i moved to NY for her. When I first came to Liz, she did an amazing color correction when I desperately needed it. If you're naturally brunette and want blonde stop looking for new stylists, stop trying at home solutions, go see Liz. I trust her completely and always just let her do what she does best. With other stylists, my hair got dry and brittle after appointments, my color didnt last long at all, the outcome wasnt exactly what i was looking for, and they used didnt use the most modern techniques for the color. With liz i never have any of these problems in the slightest. Besides being highly skilled and having a great eye, Liz is friendly and makes you feel comfortable. She is honest and committed to her work, I highly recommend.

I got an awesome haircut from Hairwell! Liz took the time and explained to me why my hair was better to be scissor cut (I had always gone to a barber who would try to rush me out). I could tell the stylist paid close attention to detail. I’d highly recommend anyone looking to get a professional cut

Liz is a master at her craft! I initially connected with her after seeing how gorgeous my colleague's hair was and demanding for her stylist's info. Liz completely overhauled my color and tone from a brassy blonde to a cool shade that is always spot on. She meticulously addresses exactly what you need at each appointment and I always leave feeling like my best self (and blonde!) A must visit to see the fabulous Liz H! I've been going to Liz for almost three years and she has helped me get my hair in such healthy shape. I also trusted her on my first blonde highlights this year, which she did an incredible job on and I'm still getting compliments on weeks and weeks and weeks later. Def give Hairwell a visit as Liz is incredible! The space is bright, beautiful and clean and I felt super comfortable there.

I have been coming to Liz for almost 4 years now and have never been happier with my hair! Liz was my first true, long term colorist and stylist and I truly believe without her I would not have hair on my head. She saved my hair. Liz has continuously given me a stunning blonde head of hair and always has just the right opinions and ideas when I want a little change up and she always nails my cut! I have been going to Liz for a few years now and she is the best of the best. My hair has completely transformed from where it started. Liz has done everything from balayage, full/partial highlights, hair cuts to treatments with my hair. She absolutely know's what she is doing and the results always turn out amazing. I also appreciate that she puts hair health and longer term care first whenever doing any kind of color. On top of getting my hair done I always feel like I am learning at appointments. Liz has given me so many tips that has truly made a difference from making color last, product recommendations, styling tutorials, hair washing tricks, ponytail damage control, etc. Liz is also just a really nice, honest and fun person. We always end up chatting the whole time and have gotten to know each other over the years. Highly recommend Liz!

Liz Howell has been cutting and coloring my hair for 2 years and is my SAVING GRACE! It took me YEARS to find a stylist who could cover my grey roots without making my hair much darker then my natural color. Liz takes the time to listen to what you want and makes it happen. She is extremely knowledgeable and I fully trust her to guide me in the right direction on all my hair decisions. Most recently my husband left the barber he had been seeing for 8+ years to have his hair cut by Liz exclusively. Lastly, she is very responsive and accommodating to scheduling appointments around busy work/life schedules.

Liz Howell is my stylist and color genius. We met while living in Chicago and at a time when I had spent years going from one bad colorist to the next. I finally gave up and began coloring my hair from a box at home (the horror, I know)! I had read good reviews about Liz. Having nothing to lose I scheduled a consultation. I told her exactly what I was looking to accomplish. She was honest and told me that it would take an entire day in the chair and a great toll on my hair to get what I wanted. She encouraged me to allow getting from A to B to be a process, and that together, we'd get there. Away we went. When I moved to NYC, I flew to Chicago every other month to get my hair cut/colored by Liz. That's how good she is. Liz, thank you for your commitment to your craft. Thank you for listening to your clients; for being honest and patient; and for moving to New York! Covid Update: Liz is taking every precautionary measure to ensure a safe experience. Liz is a master of keratin! My hair has never looked so smooth and felt so silky! I am a lady of a certain age and she has covered my grays, giving me color that lasts and looks amazingly natural as it grows, as well as a chic cut that updated my look. I felt very safe as the space is for one client at a time in your own room. Large windows in the brand new place also made me feel Covid safe. Highly recommend!

Liz is my blonde savior!!! When I moved to NYC three years ago I had a tragic orange head from a different colorist. Liz made me a color correction appointment and saved my blonde. I have been going to her for three years now and would never let anyone else touch my hair. Not only is she a color and cut genius, but she has brought my hair back to life. She has recommended me the best hair routine and products and my hair is the healthiest and blondest it has ever been. She is also the sweetest and has become a close friend to me. Liz is the BEST! She absolutely transformed my hair! Prior to Liz I had terrible breakage, I was wearing clip ins every single day to try and cover the amount of damage done to my hair. My hair has come so far and I owe it all to this woman! My hair is thicker, fuller and most importantly HEALTHY. I never wear extensions anymore and most importantly I still got to be BLONDE. I’ve had so many other stylists sacrifice the integrity of my hair in order to make a profit but with Liz she worked WITH me to bring my hair back to life. Liz is truly a blonde genius! I went blonde over 12 years ago and I’m extremely picky when it comes to my blonde shade/tone. I’ve been to a countless amount of salons abs can honestly say Liz is the best I’ve been to. She nails the perfect shade every time, all while keeping my hair extremely healthy.
