Found Hare studio through an online video and my friend and I decided to try a new place, and they did not disappoint. The stylists are very precise and meticulous especially with the haircuts and will make sure that the hair looks even. Additionally when bringing a reference photo for haircuts and/or coloring, they are very spot on. Overall pleasant experience with friendly staff, calm atmosphere, and would definitely come again 💇‍♀️💆‍♀️💁‍♀️

I had a hair appointment with Effie for a single hair color process as well as a haircut. It was such an amazing experience. During the hair coloring process, Effie was accompanied by another stylist and both paid attention to detail. Literally not a strand of hair missed. The color was exactly what I wanted. I usually struggle with my past stylist having my hair dyed 2 colors, but this time it was even all throughout. As for the cut, I had a previous butchered wolf cut that was grown out. Effie was able to Blend out the choppy layers and make my hair look so healthy and even again. She even made sure my curtain bangs weren’t too heavy and went back to make them lighter. It is really everything I could’ve ask for. Will be back :)) 🫶🏻

One day I woke up and randomly decided to dye my hair for the first time. I was researching for places to do it, and Hare Studio popped up! I excitedly called, and had all of my questions kindly answered. Luckily, Eiffie had a spot open that day and took me in while the idea was still fresh. She’s really cool, knowledgeable, and professional. We went over color options, and decided a silver/purple-ish color, that would eventually fade into an almost golden-blonde color. To be honest, I’m digging it. I feel like…myself, crazily as that sounds. Thanks Eiffie and Hare Studio. Keep killing it!

Came in to get a blow out. The guy that assigned to me must have been a helper or something. Felt like it was his first blowout. They had a nerve to ask for a tip. Felt I should have been paid for my wasted time. Would not recommend.

My first time going to Hare Studio was amazing!! I cannot express how much care they put into your hair. My stylist was Effie, and she is such a great stylist! She helped me understand how to style my new haircut that I was new to getting and did phenomenal on what I envisioned for my haircut, she doesn’t fail to disappoint! As well the treatment that goes into my hair is great, coming with a hair wash making me leave feeling refreshed. I have already gone back 3 times and I come back from all of my appointments amazed! This place is definitely going to be my go to for haircuts!

Emily is such a talented hair colorist! She goes above and beyond to make sure you are happy with the color and walks you through every step of the way. I’ve gone to less expensive salons in the past but came back unhappy with a color not expected or an uneven, patchy bleach application. Emily is a lifesaver and you are paying for quality service and color! Thank you, Emily!!!

I wanted to wait a little after I got a balayage to comment so that I can see how the hair looks after a couple of washes. I have to say I'm very impressed with the salon. Humphrey knew exactly what I wanted and took their time to make sure the result turned out well. I asked for an ash brown balayage and showed him a picture. He did such a good job bleaching and coloring my hair, It still feels healthy and not at all damaged. At first when I saw my hair I wasn't sure because my hair ranges from brown to grey-ish and and lighter but it actually gives my hair great dimension, and really does create that "ash" look. Humphrey recommended washing with purple shamoo twice week, which I have been doing. The whole process took about 4 hours (my hair was pretty long and also very thick), and the results come out AMAZING!!!( I Love it !) They were all very professional, but if they don't speak to you, I imagine it's because they aren't completely comfortable speaking English. But it's also somewhat cultural, and it varies by hairstylist. That being said they were very kind and did their best to explain the process, plus the results looked great. If you live in manhattan or lower east side , Hare Studio is the best place for your hair !

Effie gave me an amazing haircut. Went from long hair to bob after years and it was a big change. But, I am so happy with how my hair turned out, love it even more after washing. Effie listened to me and gave me exactly what I wanted. Also, their shampoo chair has to be the most comfortable one I have ever sat in. The hair wash itself was a great experience. Will definitely go back.

I came in late in the day to get a blowout and curls today for my graduation tomorrow. I asked my stylist Emily for tight curls so that they would last me for tomorrow (they open at 11am and my graduation is before then so I had to come the day before). First the stylists don’t apply any heat protectant to my hair while blowdrying it so I definitely got some heat damage from that. I ask for heat protectant when the curling iron comes out but I don’t even think the stylist heard me and she applied some oil which I’m hoping was heat protectant but I'm not sure since she didn't acknowledge my request. She starts to curl my hair and I notice they’re pretty loose. I wanted to trust the process so I didn't say anything. I asked for tighter curls in the front which she did but they’re barely any tighter. When she finishes and is about to apply hairspray I ask if she can go back and curl some pieces in the front because they’re really loose, some even looked straight. She seems kinda annoyed by this but again I asked for tight curls from the start. She starts pulling out pieces to curl again and they're straight as if she didn't curl anything. She also applies a ton of hairspray in between curls. It's starting to look better but there are still lots of loose curls left but at that point I gave up. When she finishes she asks if that's better and I say yes I wanted tighter curls so that they can last me until tomorrow. She then says that my hair is going to be really sticky tomorrow and seems to act as if it's my fault. I say I don't mind I just want curls and not straight hair for my graduation. When I get back home I immediately notice some hair has gone straight already (picture with white shirt). Only 4 hours after my appointment, all my hair is basically just straight or has a loose wave (pics with pink shirt). I also didn't do anything that would ruin the curls like lay down or tie it, I didn't even touch my hair. I bet when I wake up, all my hair is going to be straight, which is what I didn't want at all and what mentioned to my stylist several times. I am completely disappointed with the service I received today, I wish I could get a refund because now my hair is not what I wanted for my special day and it lasted me barely an hour.

Absolutely horrific experience. If it was possible this rating would be 0 stars. My stylist was disrespectful and despite claiming to be able to give me the highlights I asked for failed miserably. I showed him the reference picture multiple times and the hair he left me with did not at all match the reference picture. Not only that, he failed to lift color out of some parts of my hair despite saying he could, and only told me he may not be able to lift those colors halfway into bleaching my hair. His apprentice spilled hair color remover in my eye while trying to wipe dye that he got on my forehead. I was told that the stylist I was assigned specialized in curly hair and he did not. He was very rough while washing my hair to the point where it hurt. He trimmed only the ends of my hair despite being asked multiple times to reshape my layers, but I am grateful that he ignored those requests as I am realizing now he would have botched the layers if he had tried to cut them. After the "cut" and dye job, I asked him to keep my hair curly. He blow dried it on high heat with no protectant to the point where it was straight and then proceeded to saturate it with a product that left my hair stiff and dry. By the time I left the studio I was left with something akin to a Party City wig resting atop my hair. I had to pay $500 for this atrocity. He damaged my hair severely and it is now stiff, frizzy, and curl-less. When I got home I had to trim some parts that were dyed as he had left them so damaged that they stretched and snapped when pulled on. While I recognize that all stylists have their areas of expertise, I am extremely disappointed and furious that this hair studio assured me that they would be able to cut and color my hair according to the reference pictures and did not. The damage they did was irreversible and I will be spending my own time and money the next few months tending to this abominable creation they left me with.

I tried a new haircut today thanks to Emily’s creative vision and I totally love it! She really takes her time to understand what you’re looking for… and what you’re not looking for. Emily also did a fab job styling my hair. I definitely recommend her!!

I enjoyed the whole process throughout the 4 hours in Hare studio. My ideas for my hair were thoughtfully turned into reality by Effie and members of the Hare studio with their their techniques, patience and creativity. It’s so lucky to find a place in such a big city that I can trust my hair with.

My unique hair color is a huge part of my personal image and I have exclusively been seeing Effie as my colorist for the past year. She works literal magic with color. I initially came in with a disastrous green/brown splotchy hair color that was done at home with months of overgrowth and she was able to correct all the different bands and perfectly interpreted the fantasy color that I wanted. Every single time I step out of the salon, I get huge compliments from strangers on my color, and i don't know how but it stays perfectly vibrant for weeks.

Stopped by Hare Studio for a quick trim and some long layers. Humphrey did a wonderful job! Humphrey was detail oriented and extremely gentle. I definitely plan on returning!
