They messed up my hair. I wanted long face framing bangs and they gave me a blunt dora cut. Maybe it’s because they didn’t know how to cut long straight asian hair but, Jesus, they need to get better hair dressers. They should be skilled enough to cuts bangs if they are going to charge $120 for it. Also, I set up an appointment 2 weeks prior to the date and I made sure to show up 5min earlier and the hair dresser did not show up until 20min later. Very unprofessional. I still tipped and was polite to them because it was courteous to do so, but I will not be going back to them.

Very talented stylists, all have different specialties which means there’s something for everyone. The website is super easy to book your own appointments, and it’s great that you can adjust and reschedule through the text line! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back!

I've had 4 great haircuts here from different talented stylists. I started coming here when I walked by the one time and through the window I could see someone with an enviable haircut. Plus being able to make an appointment online is always desirable. My most recent appointment was with Alyssa. It's like she could read my mind and knew exactly what I wanted. A month later and I'm still getting compliments.

Hi Hawthorn Salon My husband will no longer be visiting your salon due to disappointing experiences with Alyssa. Despite clear instructions, she consistently cuts his hair incorrectly, resulting in uneven and inconsistent styles and to go further the last time he had 2 patches in the back of his head . We appreciate quality service, but unfortunately, Alyssa hasn't met our expectations. We hope you'll address this issue to improve customer satisfaction.

Unfortunately cannot recommend. This is an overpriced Supercuts. Don’t waste your money. Bad hair color - they incorrectly mixed my color and it’s taken 3-4 months to undo this mess. No real stylists cutting hair at this salon. Junior people.

I’ve been going back to my home state for the past four years get my hair done and felt it was time to find someone here in Jax. Tish made my very long, wavy, dry hair look absolutely beautiful! She gave me the perfect cut and long layers I was looking for.

Had the best experience getting my hair cut and styled with Morgan J at Hawthorn! She did an amazing job and made sure that I was taken care of every step of the way:) Definitely recommend if you are looking for a good stylist in JAX!!

I give this salon a 10 out of 10!!! The girls are very welcoming and make you feel so pretty ! This was my first time here , I booked with Christina. She was amazing with making sure what suit me and meeting my desired color .The diversity at this salon is outstanding , from Vivid colors to low cuts to blonde , you name it they can do it ! definitely will be back .

I’ve been coming to see Ginny for almost a year now and I wish I could give her 10 stars! I’ve struggled to find a stylist that can work with my curl and cut proper bangs for my face shape. Ginny is a master at both. I’m so glad I found her and Hawthorn Salon. I love this neighborhood salon!

Unfortunately today I received the worst haircut I’ve ever received. Before leaving normally they show me the back but not today. I should have asked I suppose, but by that point it the damage was already done. I’m not sure how this is blended layers, and again I never leave bad reviews but I feel like this one might help with extra training when it comes to technique in blended layers…

I love Hawthorn! Morgan always makes my hair the perfect color AND she understands my haircut ideas each time!! Highly recommended. A year later edit- Morgan is still THE BEST! I was nervous to try bangs, she talked it through with me, and patiently cut them little by little until they were perfect. I’m so happy.

I've gone here off and on for years and loved both stylists I had (my first stylist left and I got lucky picking my next stylist). I needed a cut in a pinch and my girl wasn't available. I naturally thought "it's Hawthorne, whoever I get will do a great job" - I was wrong. I told the girl exactly what I wanted and walked out with a wolf cut. Apparently, that type of cut is her thing so that's what she decided to do. It was one of the most hideous cuts I'd ever gotten. My 17 y/o was like "what did they do to you?!" For months, I had to wear clips in my hair and wait for it to grow out. The salon offered to have me come back with another stylist but I opted for a refund.

This place is amazing as a whole but major shoutout to Abby who is a straight up hair wizard! This girl took my crispy and zapped hair with years of DIY bleach & dye and totally transformed it into a stunning warm hot chocolate kind of brown that’s so much closer to my natural color. I left the salon feeling so confident, so beautiful, and with the healthiest hair I’ve ever had in my life. I seriously can’t thank Abby and all of the folks who work here enough for their flexibility, communication, and overall amazing work. The teamwork to make sure I left with the perfect result was awesome, and everyone was so nice. The service was amazing, my hair feels so healthy and rejuvenated. I seriously went home and cried happy tears because it was such a major change and I just feel so PRETTY! Thank you so much to Abby!

If you want a personalized experience, don’t come here, you will just be another person and they will rush you through the whole process. I used to do my hair at this place during 2021/ 2022 and loved it. My hairstylist used to be Jill. I stopped going due to their bad business practices. Apparently the hair stylist was under the impression I did not like her work or something like that, which she never really communicated to me. I loved her work, what I didn’t like is that this place does not provide a personalized experience. It’s very impersonal/ rushed. Makes you feel like you’re just another number. They would literally sit a random girl while my purse was still on the station so that she could get a haircut while my hair was cooking/ dying. This happened several times, I did not give a well deserved tip on those occasions because you should at least let the client know what to expect. I’m thinking this is why the hairstylist thought I didn’t like her work. Something along the lines of “hey, just so you know, we typically take clients in between while your hair is dying so I just wanted you to be aware of that” would have sufficed in setting the right expectations. Unfortunately, they lacked good communication skills. How would you feel if you were doing your hair with your guard down trying to enjoy and relax and then you look back at the station you were sitting at and a random person is sitting on your assigned chair getting a haircut? Mind you, your purse is still there. No warning, no nothing. Then, they would send an assistant to check on my hair while the main hairstylist was still trying to do other haircuts. Couple of times I could tell my hair was fried due to it being left there for too long since the main hair stylist was still busy with another client. I guess the first time this happened I thought it was a one off, then it happened again and again and I noticed a pattern. Then one time, they scheduled me with a different girl that I did not request. The front desk girl said they made a mistake. Had my hair done with the other girl, told them to schedule the next appointment with Jill. They did, but did not write down to include blow dry so guess what? I had to leave with my hair wet. They said they didn’t have time and couldn’t do it but I still had to pay full price. This was unacceptable. There are tons of great hair salons in Jax. Don’t let yourself be fooled by the trendy atmosphere. Go to a salon where they make you feel like you are valued and not just one more client. I pay for the service AND the experience. If you ask me, I’d rather go to a salon where the hair stylist attention is on YOU and you ONLY. Not taking clients in between. Trust me on this. You don’t want to be rushed and on top of that expected to tip well for a not so good customer experience. You have to understand that some salons (this one being one them) take too many people and don’t really care if your hair gets fried, they just try to fit as many customers as possible to make more money.

Chelsea exceeded my expectations! She was not only quick (I hate hair appointments that take longer than they need to be) and friendly but also incredibly skilled with my hair. I loved the products she used—they worked wonders! Can't wait for my next appointment with her!

I have been going to Hawthorn Salon for probably around 5 years now and I will not go to another salon or hairdresser! Not only are the owners the kindest and most generous people you will meet, the staff are all amazing at what they do! Taylor always rocks and is a fabulous hair dresser. She always manages to nail exactly what I had in mind for my cut and style. If you want a salon that makes you feel comfortable, taken care of, and has the coolest vibes in town, go to Hawthorn! You won't be disappointed.

Great place for a haircut, and the stylist Zoey Lund is awesome she takes care of what you need and does it clean and quick. I would recommend this place if you are undecided on a hairstyle

I recommend this place to all my friends and I’ve never had a bad experience or bad haircut. Everyone is wonderful. I’ve been to Alyssa and most recently with Christina and they are incredible!! Immediately I could tell I was in good hands. Scheduling is easy and flexible, communication is reliable and friendly. I feel very lucky to have found this place. Definitely try this place out

I started going to see Abby last September at the recommendation of my daughter. Abby is absolutely phenomenal! She listens, gives style suggestions--and not once have I ever walked out with a hairstyle I did not like. The salon itself is conveniently located in Five Points, has a great vibe to it. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The salon offers a nice selection of hair products to suit your particular needs and offers easy online booking. I love Hawthorne!

Went here a few weeks ago for a haircut and will never go back. I had the most awkward haircut experience I've ever received, and it was not worth the $80 I spent just for a haircut, and on top of that, I hate the way she cut it. My stylist never talked to me except for when I told her what I wanted. The salon itself is really nice, just not the experience I received.

I highly recommend Hawthorn Salon! I've had my hair cut there a few times by different hairstylists, and they've always done a great job and are also very friendly. I have long, thick, and curly hair, so it's not the easiest to work with, and I'm always impressed with my haircut when they're finished. They also cut my fiancees' hair regularly, and they always do a great job with hers, too.

I want to start off saying how much I love this salon- it's friendly and all of the staff have been phenomenal. I feel very calm and at home when I come in, and I've been swearing by this salon since September 21'! Started off coming in just for curtain bangs and layers, then had hiccups with my hair not holding color/and miscommunication about what to expect with my hair and my stylist Zoey worked with me until we got what I had wanted and we found a routine that really worked for me. Kudos to the team and Zoey for answering all my questions! I still swear by this salon and would (and do!) recommend them to everyone I can!!

Abby is so AMAZING! I have been going to her for three years now and she does an incredible job every single time. Not only does she slay my hair, but she is also an incredibly kind and wonderful person. She has the most uplifting and kind energy. I always look forward to getting my hair done, because I know it’s going to look amazing and it feels like I’m chatting with a friend the second I sit down in the chair. In addition to Abby, all of the other staff is also fantastic. It is such a professional and kind environment. I was so glad I found Abby- she is the first hair stylist I’ve had who I never doubt will make my hair look stunning and also have me leaving feeling uplifted and validated. Thank you Abby and Hawthorne- y’all are the best!

I have been to Hawthorne Salon twice and both times I've gone, the service has been above and beyond! The atmosphere of the salon is so welcoming and the staff are always so friendly. I've had my hair cut by both Val and Tish, and they both did an incredible job cutting and styling my hair! I'm always super nervous to get my hair cut, but my experience with them has been lovely. They are also super helpful and knowledgeable about the products they use, and are great at recommending products suited for my hair type! Hands down the best hair salon in Jacksonville Florida!
