This place is awesome, clean rooms and good communication. My masseuse was excellent at tailoring my session to fit my specific needs and I walked away feeling like a new man with a new back.

This place is hands down the best place to get a message in Austin. I just was looking for a place to get a massage after work as I am not from Texas. I stumbled across this place and I am so happy that I did. Gigi was great and gave me the best massage I think I have ever had. She payed special attention to target areas that needed to be rubbed out and took her time with the massage. She also stayed late to finish my massage even though my half hour didn’t end until after the business closing hours. The plus for me is that the rooms are clean and comfortable !! Most definitely a very good experience and I will be returning whenever I am in Austin.

I think this place is under new management it’s certainly not the same place that I’ve visited so many times. The previous owners knew me when I came in and they were great. This time they acted more like a chiropractor the lady was texting on her phone while massaging me and I didn’t get my full hour. They even raised the prices. They don’t use hot rocks anymore. It wasn’t a pleasant experience I won’t be returning.

Respectful and friendly staff, great price, clean and well taken care of. I read some of the other reviews and can't say I came across a single issue. An amazing experience that I will not only go back to but will make sure to recommend to others. I have been suffering with a tight back after some rather hard days at work. After the massage I feel 10 years younger.

I am updating my 5 star review from before. I had a great massage from Helen a few months back but today got a sub par massage today from Lisa. It would have been ok (she said she was tired) but when I went to pay and I tipped 30% she forced me to tip higher saying she did a good job and wanted 50%. I really want to support a local place but this was shocking and I usually come once or twice a month but now ill never go back. I gave the higher tip cause I didn't want to argue and just wanted to leave, but I felt hassled to empty my wallet from the employee for not a great service. There was no one else available to talk to about this, I hope this can go to management and make things right

I'm going to give a 1 star review of this place, but it should be a 0 star. This is really just to let people know what kind of place this is. This place is the kind of place that we've all heard about, that's right...the happy ending type massage. Unbeknownst to me, I scheduled this appointment and asked for a male therapist. I'm a male and usually the male massage therapists are stronger and able to get into the muscles. Upon my arrival and placement into a room, the young girl came in and told me the male was busy but that she was very strong. Massage started and so did the inappropriateness. She asked me several times why I 'came to this place'. I found that weird. I told her it was close (in my neighborhood) and I had been wanting to try it out. She told me there were many massage places, and again asked why I came there? I'm guessing she was looking for a clue that I was there for a happy ending. Needless to say, as I am gay man, the happy ending did not happen and I got up off the table. She asked me if I was going to pay with a credit card or cash. When I told her credit, she went, got the machine and came back into the room and asked me how much I wanted to tip. When I told her, she said it was too low and that she was going to charge my credit card $100. I quickly told her 'no you not!'. She took and ran my credit card and then disappeared in the building somewhere, never saw her again. Never saw how much she charged my card, never signed, nada. I checked my account after leaving and she had charged me over $90 and I'm assuming a credit card fee. I am disputing the charge. I had not seen the other reviews that talk about them asking for a higher tip. I certainly have not seen one mentioning a happy ending....but if you want that, good on you, no judgement but I did not go here looking for this and certainly not from a woman!

My friend paid for an hour massage and gave a big tip. The lady kept asking for a tip before even starting then gave me a 45 minute massage. I do not know how to reply. However that's a lie. My birthday is not the end of May. Another lady offered to make it right. However I don't trust her especially after the comment made. My friend tipped $15 off a 1 hour massage. The lady rushed off and said she had to go help another client who demanded two hands

Normally my experience was not really bad but they referred me to a place that was horrible and she said she would discount my next spa Treatment.When I called back they were so nasty and only wanted to give me the tip back because the lady just took it and did not give me my change. The attitude of who I spoke with was horrible and she wouldn’t give me her name just don’t trust it if they say they will make up for a bad treatment

This place is not just in a good area but it’s well inviting. It’s clean and a great price. The people are so friendly and knows what they are doing. I have only been here twice but will keep going just for the friendly atmosphere. Thank you all.

Very comfortable feeling. My shoulders have been uncomfortable and often hurt. After a deep tissue massage, I felt much more relaxed after the treatment. The price is reasonable, the store environment is clean and tidy, and the staff has a good attitude. I will continue to patronize next time!

Awesome massage! Didn’t catch her name (was booked for 4pm 8/1, want her to get credit) but she gave a thorough full body massage which included hot stones towards the end, worked out my knots, and gave me an hour plus 5 minutes. I will def go back soon.

I am leaving this review because I don't want anyone else to experience what happened to me, and I hope the therapists at New Relax will learn and do better. After paying and leaving a tip for my massage, the therapist demanded that I tip more, then showed me a clipboard with other customers names and personal information, showing what they had tipped. It is extremely unprofessional to demand a bigger tip, no matter how much the tip amount is. Massages are not cheap, and to demand that your customers tip more because other customers might have tipped a certain amount, does not take into consideration the financial status of your customers. Some customers may be able to tip more because they have/make more money, and they are financially able to do so. In this case I tipped 17% which is what I felt was a fair amount for the massage I received. I am not someone who skimps on tips, I always tip at restaurants, hair salons, etc. My understanding is that massage therapists, unlike restaurant workers, do not make minimum wage or less per hour and do not live on tips the way restaurant workers do, so I generally do not tip as much percentage wise for a massage compared to a restaurant. I hope New Relax pays their massage therapists a fair living wage, so that the responsibility does not fall on customers like me to tip more than I am comfortable tipping. It is also not professional and a major violation of privacy to show a customer other customers personal information (name, phone, email were some of the things I saw on the clipboard). There was another therapist, who I believe is the owner/manager, who witnessed this entire exchange and didn't say a word. This experience made me VERY uncomfortable. Massages are supposed to be physically and mentally relaxing, and this left me feeling very tense and not relaxed in the slightest. My husband and I have been coming here semi-regularly for over a year now and sadly will not be returning.

I decided to try New Relax because it is near my house. I have no idea why the ratings are as high as they are. I asked for a focus on my neck and shoulders, but that didn't happen. It's clear when a massage therapist has an understanding of how muscles connect to each other and how to identify/fix problem spots/knots. This massage therapist didn't seem to know what she was doing... There was a paper towel covering the face cradle when I arrived, which wasn't particularly comfortable... And when I saw the suggested tips (beginning with 35% I believe), I was shocked. I don't know if I've ever seen suggested tips that high anywhere. I will never go back to this place. Even if it is cheap, it wasn't worth the money I paid. I have no idea how it has good reviews...

I was complaining about a back problem I was having and a friend told me to get a massage. I have never had one and I thought why not. It happens that New Relax was near where I work so I went and was met by a pleasant looking massage therapist. I believe her name was Lina. She took me into a comfortable and clean room and after I was ready, she came in and gave me my first massage. She worked on my sore back and got the stress out and then gave me a great relaxing massage. It was so comforting I fell asleep for a part of it. I didn't want to leave. I will definitely come back, and the cost was well worth it.

The worst massage received on Oct 24th. The lady who massaged me was doing weird techniques and not massage techniques. Her hands were dry and rusty and really hurt my skin. On top of that I paid her tip but she didn’t give me the right change back and told me she had no more bills to pay me back resulting in her taking $2 extra dollars. I will never go back here nor do I recommend anyone go here.

Good price for a couples massage. It was a nice variety of techniques with good pressure. Very easy to schedule which is a huge plus!
