After getting a really bad haircut from someone who doesn't understand how to work with wavy hair, I searched yelp for a hairstylist who does. I found Ana and she's been cutting my hair ever since. For the past 13 years, she has become someone I trust implicitly with my wavy hair. Ana gets it. She knows how to enhance the natural texture and flow of my waves ensuring they fall just right every time. We've developed a rapport that makes the whole experience enjoyable. Ana is the most skilled hair stylist I've ever met. She is able to reshape a face by just looking at you. Her skills and expertise in color, allows her to make wonders: from colorful rainbows to highly skilled balayage (that other hair stylist ask me where did I get it done, because it was so good that they were curious!) If you are looking for a reliable, personable and amazing hair stylist... look no further! I've been with Ana for 13 years and I don't go anywhere else!! LOVE ANA!!!!!

Ana is a true artist when it comes to hair!! She's given me some of the most breathtaking color and fun cuts. Just look at what she did today!! There's no one else like her in any of the 5 cities I've lived in over the last 9ish years. Cannot recommend her enough!

Ana has been my hairstylist for about 10 years. She is very skilled and confident in what she does. I personally like that she has an artistic eye and will suggest what haircut or haircolor looks better on you upon request. Her tasteful choice of music playing in the background adds to the general ambiance. Her salon is conveniently located in the vibrant Mission street neighborhood and is easily accessible by BART (get off at Mission/ 16th and walk for 10 min). I have long thick, but fine hair and I color it medium brown. The haircuts I get with Ana are easy to maintain and does not require a lot of styling. I wash it and blow dry and it looks gret. I don't live in San Francisco, but continue to make time to return to Heartzilla, because Ana truly is a rare find!

10+ years ago Ana told me I had “fairy hair“. I knew I had to go to her for my hair because she saw its potential. Ana has been cutting my curly hair for over a decade and each time I am impressed by her attention to detail and how she helps get my unruly hair into better shape (literally and figuratively). She has really helped me to embrace my curly locks instead of straightening them. She has tons of experience with hair cutting and color , especially curly, and an artistic sensibility on what will work and what will not. She is also a kind person who listens carefully to any of my requests and ideas.

Ana is a hair goddess with magic color skillz. I’ve been a faithful regular going back over 15 years and I trust her to style me. Often I didn’t have a specific look in mind and let her helm the ship = to great satisfaction. The way she decides what strip or chunk of hair to get color placement - time and time again blows me away.l! Some of the best cuts and color I’ve ever been able to pull off are thanks to this talented woman. Her salon is amazing - the decor and attention to detail of the fun art installation space are a good tip as to what you can expect of your hair after time at HeartZilla.

Ana is amazing, she gave me the best haircut experience I've ever had! I hate the sensation of having my hair washed by someone else, and don't style it normally other than braiding, so I was looking for someone who wouldn't insist on washing it or heat styling it. Ana listened to what I wanted and cut with such precision and care. Heartzilla was also amazing for its calm and quiet auditory environment, I hadn't even realized how tense the noise and chaos of a typical salon made me until I went here. Highly recommend!

Ana knows hair! I have been going to her for the last 10 years and through all different phases of my life. Whether I wanted something very fun with many colors, a cheetaprint, or a shaved heart on the side of my head, Ana did it better than I ever imagined. Then, when I needed a "business" look that was still true to myself, Ana mastered that as well. If you are not quite sure what your next step in terms of hair should be, Ana is also a gret thinking partner to figure that our and make it happen. Ana is great at all types of hair: fine, curly, straight, thick, you name it. And coloring is her specialty, whether you want to go bleach blong all over or want creative colors. In summary, Ana is one of the best hair stylists in the Bay, and I cross the bridge to get my hair done at Heartzilla.

I REALLY cannot say enough about Ana (owner of Heartzilla Salon). this is not a review coming from someone gifted with fabulous hair from the get-go. I have struggled with it my thin, fine, curly hair my entire life. I have experienced drama after drama with people cutting it way too short or coloring it and then it breaking off, etc. I have never been able to grow it long which has been painful. I would say my hair is one of my 'biggest issues;'. Ana really gets it and does everything she can to protect my hair. She is super supportive and I feel completely safe with her. She colors it in ways that give my hair life, masks the thinness and blends my new grey without doing damage in any way. I really can't express how important and how valuable the trust I have in her is. Working with Ana, I have finally found peace with my hair, yay! In addition to her artistic magic, Ana is pure love! She is one of the most caring, positive, bright women I know - very rare, very special. She is the real deal:)!

I have been coming to Ana for 10+ years and every time have walked away in love with my hair! She is a master at layering. I have fine, straight hair and she somehow manages to create layers that give me volume and the appearance of fuller hair while the layers are blended beautifully. She is an artist at heart but she uses this skill, in combination with knowledge about hair, to execute on your vision and create the aesthetic you are looking for. I cannot recommend her enough!

I was on a long visit to SF dealing with family matters and already overdue for a haircut (and some relaxation) so I searched online for a salon near me and found Heartzilla and Ana. I booked an appointment and loved it! Ana is great--gave me a tight cut and I went back a couple months later while traveling again. I love Heartzilla! I wish it was closer to home (Illinois) but no matter what I'll keep coming back.

If you can dream it, Ana can do it. In my nearly decade of going to her, I've always walked away from Heartzilla feeling like I got just the hair cut and/or color I was looking for. Cuts from her keep shape forever and, as a visual artist, she plans the color so it'll grow out and look natural - even if it's a rainbow. She's so easy to work with and will coordinate with you in advance to find the right hair next step for you. Ana is delightful to spend a few hours with and I can't recommend her services enough!

You want a great haircut, style, and coloring in one stop, but don't want to pay exorbitant prices? Do not look any further. I have been going to Anna for more than a decade now, even after I moved far down south in the peninsula. The long trip and traffic there is worth it. When I first moved away, I tried other stylists and colorists, none of whom have the eye and craft of an artist that is Anna, who not only understands each client's specific needs but also has the skills to execute flawlessly. For me, I have Asian hair, want to spend zero time styling and fussing over my hair when I get up in the morning, work in a conservative profession, but also want a bit of edge in my hair style. Anna delivers on all fronts and understands my comfort zone. Most importantly, her coloring is not just beautiful the week or two afterwards, but grows out naturally for months. it is the best haircut I have ever had. I had searched high and low in this city to find a competent hairstylist that can make me look like a million bucks every single haircut I have had. Also I was never bored in my chair, the hairstylist is hilarious in addition to skilled.
