If you’re starting locs or need retwist go down the street to NY Master Fader. Not sure about the females in there but “Pharaoh” will just take your money.He doesn’t care about the craft or how you look.

Valerie never styled my hair. She never touched my hair. Her assistant did the washing and blowing drying. She blamed me for the styling not being done because the detangling took too long. Yet she had time and never assisted the person in moving faster. She was eating, yapping, and. watching videos. She had a terrible attitude and was not treating me nice. (Most people wet my hair to detangle it fast. I told the assistant and she never did that.) Then changes the price of the service from the time I reserved the slot to the time I went to the salon from 75 to 95. Then cut my time by 15 minutes all on the sly and not telling me. Never in 30 years of getting my hair done has a stylist ever allowed me to walk out the door with my hair not being done (It was raining too.) Terrible customer service. Won't be back.

It is always an amazing experience when Maxine takes care of you. My hair is healthier and grows quickly when I'm consistent with my visits.

It was nice, but I went on a non busy day. Was in and out service was great and quick...I spent $15 on a small bottle of product that didn't work...it dried out my hair horribly. Other than that...I'll be back.

She is a great stylist, but she does overbook. I’ve experienced that for myself by showing up on time but not getting serviced on time. I was willing to look over it and even travel from NC to sit in her seat! After my last experience, I will not even consider that as an option. I made an appointment to get my hair done over the holidays while in town, unfortunately I was in a really bad car accident the night before on my way to VA. I called and left messages to make arrangements, but since I was unable to cancel my appointment within 48, her policy required her to still charge me the $45 for missing my appointment. So no, I don’t think she really cares about her clients out side of them paying. I understand business is business, but she lacks customer service and has professional expectations from client that are not reciprocated. I guess if your a local regular it wouldn’t matter though.

I have a head full of locks needing retwist/color and they took me with one day notice- and altered their protocol to fit me in/ my sister is getting married Sun and I’m scheduled for Fri. And the prices are fantastic. I spoke with Lindvee and it was a great conversation. She answered every question I had and I’m traveling from NC- so as far as unprofessionalism..? Maybe..but it’s bcuz the will bend the rules to help you get the job done! Bougie places dont
