I have gone to see gabby several times now and she is absolutely amazing! I trust her completely with my hair, she always does beyond an amazing job, and luckily she has always gotten my hair how I wanted in one session. I always feel safe in her chair and I love the fun girl talks we have whenever I come in. The whole salon has a warm welcoming vibe to it! If you’re thinking of booking here you 100% should! 💜

I'm not sure even remotely how to start this off. The confidence, comfort, and relief that here has given me in my hair cut feels beautiful and therapeutic in itself. I have never felt so at ease, heard, and welcome in a salon. And respected, I genuinely was not anxious for the first time in a long time about my hair cut. I have had too many bad experiences with cuts and realized that alternative hair salons are the solution and here specifically had incredible reviews. Gabby was thorough about addressing realistically the issues with my hair, asked me what I wanted to avoid, walked me through the process and bit by bit talked to me through it explaining what she was doing and why it would work. She took my disheveled unkempt rat nest of hair and turned it into what I actually was aiming for while framing it more to my face. She was skillful and very thoughtful in every decision. The quality and attentiveness from the stylists here is unlike anywhere else I've been and is what hair salons should be striving for. They opened my eyes up that I have been going to the wrong places for far too long and I'm so happy I almost cried looking at my hair because I was in such disbelief at how well it had come out. 100% my go to salon from now on for anything and everything. Thank you so much Gabby for giving me back the comfort of being able to look in the mirror again and smile more. Miracle workers 100%

I cannot recommend Heavy Metal Hair Salon enough! I had an amazing service with Juls and highly suggest you see her for your hair needs! Juls spent a great deal of attention to what I wanted, where I was at with my hair and explained the whole process so well. I love that she checked in with me about length for my cut, and what I was most looking for mixed in with what my routine is like. She’s very personable and so fun to be around, it really felt like spending time with a friend and helped me where I’m normally anxious at appointments. Thank you again Juls!

I’ve been going to Heavy Metal for a few years now, more specifically, seeing Nina! I’m a young mom and in today’s world that leaves me with little extra time and not always a ton of extra $$$. This means choosing where to spend both my time and money is a pretty big deal for me. So the fact I return on a regular basis says a lot. My appointments at Heavy Metal are truly something I look forward to and leave me feeling better than I have in years. My cuts and color are always on point, Ninas knowledge and advice leaves me confident in her always, the music is 🤘🏽, and vibes are comfortable and chill. While I’ve only ever worked with Nina I’ve gotten to watch other stylists and can say the team here is a solid and an incredibly talented group. Everyone has always been friendly and positive, and you can’t go wrong coming here.

Solid place that my stylist landed at. She seems to enjoy working there and I enjoy going! Good vibe, easy to contact, text reminders, and knowledgeable stylists. They do accept credit cards but bring cash to tip.

Huge thanks to Gabby for helping me on my hair journey! Prior to my appointment, I had been growing my hair for a while to give myself as many options as possible for when it finally came time to get a cut. Gabby and I went through all of my inspo photos and she helped me pick out the things that I liked from various haircuts and had a ton of insight around what would work best with my hair type and volume. I had a ton of fun and she made sure to check in with how the cut was going along the way. She recommended types of hair products and what they could help me accomplish with my hair. Afterwards, we did a color consultation and she talked me through a ton of things since it was the first time that I was getting my hair colored. Later, when I came back for the color appointment, Gabby made sure that I understood the whole coloring process, she helped explain how the various colors would behave as time went on, and she made sure that I understood the best way to take care of my hair in order to make the color last as long and age as gracefully as possible. I'm excited to keep working with Gabby and Heavy Metal Hair Salon as I continue to figure out what I want to experiment with next.

~Natural Dark Brown Hair bleaching~ The people here are really amazing super kind and welcoming, but I was just super disappointed with what they did to my hair. I've been here before for my haircuts and loved it, but for the first time in my life I decided to bleach my hair and trusted them to do it The first session, my hair was bleached three times. It ruined my hair texture and left it really yellow. I understood that may be the case, but I felt like their expertise should've told them to split it up into more sessions I was told I could come back in 3-4 weeks for another session. I scheduled my appointment and they rejected me and then told me I had to wait 8-10 weeks. It's heartbreaking because I was left with this ugly hair color for months, and then they wouldn't even fix it. They charged me a lot to ruin my hair, basically. I'm now going to a different well rated hair salon known for their blonding. Because of what the salon did to my hair, no salon is willing to bleach my hair again. Only do bleach washes, and it'll take at least 3 to get it blonde enough to even color. so now it'll be months before I can get to my desired blonde or even get to color my hair because it was so damaged. I love the people, and I'm sure they're great at coloring, and I love their haircuts, but I can't come back again. It left me with hair I've been super sad and insecure about for months. I recommend them for certain things, but definitely not for bleaching dark hair. EDIT: P.S: I've literally NEVER colored my hair before. My hair has been natural for years. I was born with dark hair, never changed it. Unfortunate the salon owner wants to blame me for their inability to bleach hair and charged me $500 for it. Instead of bleaching my hair 3 times in one session, they should've been honest and done one or two to at least keep the health of my hair, even if it didn't get as light as possible the first time. But they didn't do that. They bleached it 3 times, refused to fix it, and blamed me for their mistakes. It's sad to be blamed for their mistakes? Im not trying to shade their business. I'm just sharing my honest experience in the hopes that maybe they learn for the next person.

I had over bleached, very damaged blond hair. I wanted some lowlights and a darker blond gloss to take the whole thing down to a more natural color. I did a consultation with Gabby, who spent a lot of time discussing and making me feel comfortable. She put some color on, which looked great but faded because of my porosity resulting from damage. I went back, and she did an awesome job with a redo, applying color that worked better and looks great. Gabby is extremely knowledgeable and I highly recommend her and the salon. Although they specialize in vivid color, they are also great at color services for clients looking for a very natural look, as I was. Definitely recommend!

I have been coming to see Nina for over a year now and I am SO happy that she is my stylist! She gets so creative with my colors and nails my "Joan Jett era" cut every time. I truly feel like a rockstar when I leave, and now I'm ready for summer! The salon itself is also such a great atmosphere. It's always fun to chat with the other stylists. Can't recommend HMHS enough!

Juls (killerkutz) was so lovely, I came in for a big change, taking my long straight hair into a shaggy wolf cut, and she was absolutely awesome at explaining each step before she made the cut to ease my anxiety because I told her I had a bad haircut experience before! I really appreciated her keeping me involved and informed in transforming my hair! Would highly recommend her.

I was here for the first time today and I saw Jamie for a haircut, I came in with below shoulder length, straight, hair and it was all the same length. I wanted a “wolf cut” like layers, shag, wispy pieces - total change up. I’m always nervous to get my hair done somewhere new but this was such a great experience! Jamie asked a lot of questions to make sure she understood what I was looking for and she nailed it! I was actually able to sit back and relax and just let her do her thing! I’ll definitely go back again in the future, I’m so happy!

Went to Juls to do a pink ombre. She made my hair look and feel fantastic. She was super communicative, felt like she really worked with me to bring my vision to life. Price was beyond reasonable, highly recommend her if you want vivids!

I recently went to Gabby for a haircut and I’m not exaggerating when I say I’m already excited to go back. I haven’t had a haircut I’ve loved this much maybe ever. She looked at my reference pictures and we talked about a game plan before she jumped in and worked her magic. She made sure to talk to me throughout the process to explain what she was doing and she made it so easy for me to ask for little tweaks as we went if I wanted them. If I were to make a complaint, it would be that I love my hair TOO much. I can’t stop looking at myself in the mirror and my curls have never looked or felt better. I will absolutely be back!

I've been going to HMHS for over a year now + I can't speak enough about how happy I am each time I work with Juls! Every hair cut and color is a great experience and I always look forward to my next appointment. Just got my haircut with Gabby and soon I’ll be doing my color. I’m very very happy with this haircut 💇‍♀️ I’m almost never truly happy with a haircut because it’s usually very little change to what it was when I walked in or if I go short it’s almost Never what I want. Gabby was not afraid to go at it and give me a fabulous shag haircut really love it can’t wait to get my hair colored if there was a way to give her a 10 star I would. i recently had an appointment with jamie to get a cut and consultation for a dye job done. first of all, i did arrive quite a bit early, and she had another cut to get done while i waited. i was offered a drink in the meantime and was very comfortable in their waiting spot. i will say i was super nervous about going to get my hair done professionally, as every time i've gone for a professional cut/dye i've left disappointed and felt like i would be getting made fun of for cutting my own hair. that all being said, she made me feel super comfortable, completely understood my concerns and gave me exactly what i asked for. i've never been so happy leaving a stylist and the price point was extremely fair and left me very satisfied! i'm very excited to go back for the dye job and will be happy to update this once that is also completed!
