I loved Michelle & I actually followed a previous stylist from this salon to where she is now. Michelle is great, I only trusted her after my girl left & I don’t trust anyone lol it gives a small town salon feel, maybe caters to older clientele mostly now

I was a customer at this salon for about 10 years. The original woman I saw left (cannot recall her name but I liked her ) and then started seeing Michelle who is just awesome. I moved out of the DC area (but before that would travel from DC to Laurel because I loved the service here) but then came back to the area last year. Despite being a client for so long, the owner proceeded to tell me that they didn't have the bandwidth for me to come back. This was VERY disappointing after being a customer for so long. I truly miss Michelle doing my hair, she is magical with cut and color.

Michelle is great very friendly . Had a hard time finding someone who can cut natural curly hair. If you have it she is the one. A little pricey but worth it. The owner could be a lot more personable and friendly.

This place is run by is an extremely unfriendly, dispassionate proprietor whose services fall far short of the prices she charges and the attitude she carries. I can’t recommend enough that you avoid this shop. So far as I can tell, she doesn’t want your business anyway.

Doreen really takes care of her clients... a true professional, she's very friendly, and is especially careful to make sure the covid safety protocols are followed. She's also a wonderfully creative artist and has beautiful items for sale in her salon. Love to go there!

I like this little salon. It's a bit difficult to find, even though the address is Main Street in Old Town Laurel--you have to go around the back of the buildings, and you can't see any part of Hey, Red! from the street. There's coffee and tea, and the stylists talk with you a bit before doing anything to assess your hair type and needs, what you're looking for in terms of style, functionality and maintenance, etc. Prices seemed about average to me--in the $60 range for a haircut and styling.

I'm a model and a performer, so I don't trust my hair to just anyone. Doreen has created a high end, world class, salon that maintains a hometown feel. After months of being disappointed everywhere I turned, I finally found Hey Red! In less than a year she has made my heat, chlorine, and styling damaged hair healthy and vibrant again. Doreen is a professional who truly knows both the art and the science of her craft. I won't go anywhere else.
