Maddy is an incredible stylist!!!! I rarely know what to do with my hair but she is so skilled with her blondes! She does the perfect color on me and always leaves me feeling confident! Plus she’s so much fun to talk to! If you’re a blonde in need of a skilled stylist she’s your girl.

Today was my first time visiting this salon and it exceeded my expectations. It is absolutely gorgeous inside and is a very friendly and welcoming environment. My hairstylist, Alicia, is outstanding. She can and will meet any and all of your hair needs! Highly recommend her and this salon 😊 Will definitely be returning!

If you have curly hair, Duffy is the person to see! She did amazing with my curls. They have never looked better! She was very welcoming, warm and friendly. She talked through every step with me and stayed well within my budget. I cannot wait for my next appointment!

Expressed to the stylist that I was particular about symmetry and evenness throughout because I’ve had issues with that in the past elsewhere. She was very nice and acknowledged that. However since the appointment, I’ve noticed it isn’t symmetrical and also uneven across. Disappointing. The staff was nice and why I’m giving 2 stars.

I feel awful leaving this low of a review but hopefully it helps someone else avoid a bad haircut. Long story long, I had a technical glitch scheduling an appointment with my usual stylist (not at High Five) and the appointment I thought I booked never went through—so I was in a pinch. I have a big work conference out of town this weekend and have been trying to grow the sides of my hair out to blend in a mini mullet that I got back in May. I used to go to High Five a few years ago so I was happy to see online that they had some openings today and booked a 6pm appointment at a little after 3:30pm this afternoon. Before leaving work and heading to the salon, I looked the stylist up on instagram and realized that they only have pictures of women’s hair, bobs and longer—no men’s cuts, and no naturally curly hair pics. I called to see if I could cancel, gave my reasoning, and was told that I would be charged a 50% fee for canceling with less than 24 hours notice (even though I had only booked an hour and a half earlier). I was reassured that I was in good hands with the stylist, and not wanting to throw away $30, I relented and came in for the cut. The stylist was super sweet and I have no doubt that they are great at what they do when they’re doing the kind of hair they like to do—which from their instagram is clearly not my kind of hair. And what I got was not what I asked for. I said several times that I needed to keep my hair longer on the sides because of this work trip. I haven’t had a cut since May because I was trying to grow the sides out specifically for this work trip. I showed a pic of the cut from back in May that I was I was in love with and said “I want this… but not that short on the sides.” Somehow I ended up with a skin fade—I thought they were just cleaning up around the top of my ears and before I could say anything they were taking the clippers to my temple without a guard on. If I weren’t going on a very important work trip this weekend it wouldn’t be a big deal but I needed this cut to look more professional and I said several times throughout the cut that I didn’t want the sides too short—at this point you’d have to get a razor and shave it to get any shorter. On top of that, I now have to make an appointment at a barber shop (I guess?) and spend more money to try to blend my beard into this fade because it is so short that it looks like my beard doesn’t connect to my hair. I’m beyond frustrated and I don’t know how to make this look better by Saturday. Unfortunately, because of this, that will be my last haircut at High Five for good. No customer should be pressured to get a cut from a stylist they aren’t comfortable with because of your cancelation policy—especially on an appointment that was made that same day. I literally ran for the door after I paid because I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. I’m not mad at the stylist and still tipped 20% (though I do wish they would have actually listened to me 🤷‍♂️). I am, however, *furious* with the salon for this—hence the review. • Green shirt was my reference photo from May “I want this… but not that short on the sides.” ($35 + tip) • Gray shirt is today’s cut from High Five ($60 + tip + whatever I have to do to try to fix this before Saturday.)

I had my 1st Deva Cut appointment today with Kelly, and I can honestly say it was worth the money and time. This is the best hair cut I've ever had, hands down. She took the time to explain everything, down to products, and how to take care of my curls. I will definitely recommend her to any person with textured hair.

This is such an awesome, welcoming, and fun salon. I always leave feeling so beautiful and in love with my hair. I’ve struggled to find good, talented, curly stylists but Anna is absolutely amazing and nails it every single time. My hair has never been so stunning and healthy and I get compliments after every visit. It’s so worth the drive from Dayton. Thank you!! 🤎

High Five is the place to go if you not only want to feel amazing after your appointment but also want a great atmosphere while getting your service done!! I love this salon—and the haircuts I get from Abbey here! I'm a middle-aged man who typically hated getting his hair cut—and that was because I never got the haircut I actually wanted each time I left the barber chair or felt too awkward talking, as a man, about how I want to look and feel. That changed when I started seeing Abbey, who immediately took the time to understand my hair, my head, and, most important, how our haircuts are deeply connected to how we feel about ourselves as we move about this life. She has given me the best haircuts I've had in my life—and this has genuinely boosted my self-esteem and confidence. Each time she finishes, I love how I look—and book my next appointment with her. On top of all that, Abbey is very charming and personable. I love our conversations—and not just about my hair—and know that I'm always more than just a head of hair for her to wash, cut, and style. I genuinely look forward to my visits, typically enjoying the wonderful offerings of Findlay Market before or after my appointment. A high five to Abbey, and a high five to the High Five salon.

I went to this salon for four years, and they were always amazing. I recommended my friend here because I absolutely loved Rachel who used to work here. They called my friend before her appointment and said Rachel wasn’t available, so they agreed to get her in with another stylist. Despite my friend only doing lowlights, they charged her over $400! Haven’t been back since because there’s no way on earth lowlights cost $400. Disappointed bc I used to love this salon, but I’m not going to support ripping off customers, especially a young college student whom clearly doesn’t have that kind of money, and the stylist didn’t communicate this at all. Her booking price was like $160.

Incredible service, incredible results. I have 2a, fine hair. My boyfriend has very thick and curly hair. They were able to perfectly capture what we wanted, without us having to be at there all day. I’m so impressed by their versatility and the talent of their staff.

She is so talented, and honestly, getting a chance to chit chat with her is always such a treat. The entire staff is delightful and kind, and the overall vibe of the salon is just unmatched. Got my bangs trimmed and styled by Natalie and loved it! Nothing too fancy this time, but she was so lovely to talk to during the appointment and my hair looks so good now. The whole salon has a really nice vibe, clean and vibrant! My new go to salon.

Had my razor cut by Abbey, who specializes in this type of cut. It was the first time I’d met her, and I couldn’t be more pleased. She took the time to find out what I wanted, looked at my referenced pics, and went over my hair history. I ended up with a high end style exactly how I wanted. When Abbey finished my cut, she went over style instructions in detail. Abbey is cheerful and polite, very pleasant to be around. Thank you so much!
