I had a fantastic experience at Holy Misfits! I got a low-maintenance balayage and haircut, and both turned out amazing. The color is beautifully blended and natural, perfect for easy upkeep. The cut adds just the right amount of movement and is super easy to style. Mary was very friendly and professional—I’ll definitely be back!

Mary is the sweetest EVER!! Her studio is stunning and she is so sweet and welcoming! I was able to show inspo pics of what I was looking for and she was able to recreate exactly what I was envisioning. Genuinely my favorite hair stylist I’ve ever been to! Whenever I go to see MJ, I always have some idea in my head of what I want and I always leave her salon feeling like $$$$. She absolutely kills it every time and it's always better than I pictured. I would recommend MJ to anyone!

Mary is amazing!!! I had such a fantastic experience with her for a balayage and haircut. She’s kind, caring, thoughtful, and so easy to talk to! Everything about my experience is worthy of 5 stars. First, the cut and color are so beautiful. I have thick hair that doesn’t like to lift or be toned. She did a great job with color placement and toning. She’s really an artist! Mary was also so easy to talk to! She had a great energy and made me feel so at ease during the whole process. I will definitely be coming back next time I need my hair done. She really knows what she’s doing and I’m so glad I decided to trust her with my hair!

Every time I’ve found myself in need of a true transformation, sprinkled with love, joy, understanding and a bit of mystery, I have been met with it all and more. I was referred to Mary to help fix a botched hair style. Not only did she fix it beautifully, she also provided a light activation session for me! It’s very rare to meet someone that does hair AND energy work/healing. During the light activation session, I felt very relaxed and comfortable. During the process there were times I was sitting & times I was standing. After the session, I was gifted with a morning and evening activation spray that I am completely addicted to, and is now included in my daily routine. A month later, I came in for a hair trim and gloss with an aura cleansing and was able to catch Mary up on the events after my light activation. It’s amazing how life shifts you to align with your truth & higher self to operate in away that’s for your highest good during this human experience! She also is amazing with color and helped me transform my thin, damaged, over-processed hair into thick, healthy blonde balayage. Mary Joy is THE goddess of lived in color in Austin! Not only does she provide the most amazing color transformations and haircuts, but she has the magic touch of a wizard bringing in the most love and light to her clients! I was seeking a change after a breakup and Mary MORE THAN delivered! She gave me the cut and color of my dreams and helped me to release energetic cords to my ex. Where do I start?!?! I first came here in Jan of 2020 after a really bad balayage job @ a local Austin Salon. Mary fixed my hair marvelously. I wasn’t sure how she was going to take the chunky looking dye out of my hair and make it look blended, but she did it! I loved our conversation and learning that Mary is also an energy healer, as I am one too. It’s so nice to finally find a person that I can connect with & receive healing & hair services from at the same time!! Plus who heals the healer?!?! It’s very rare to find a hairstylist that also incorporates energy work with hair, there is an energy exchange when we allow our hair to be done. I’m so grateful that Mary is aware of this and practices this in her services! The best place to get your hair done, and your aura cleansed all at the same time! Now let me fast forward 3 years later, and I took her life activation session and my oh my. That course vibrated unnecessary people out of my life and vibrated necessary opportunities into it!
