Hotel ZaZa Austin Downtown

I’ve been to the Hotel ZaZa here in town and in Dallas. This location is downtown in the heart of everything. The suites are fun, cute, and the entire property isn’t too large. The boutique feel while being in a downtown high rise is special. You can always enjoy some lunch in the cafe, poolside next to the rooftop” pool. If you and your boo wanna get away, I highly recommend this property. The theme rooms seem to change over the years. Two suites I used to stay in don’t seem to be here anymore (rockstar suite and fetish suite). I might be confusing these rooms with the Dallas property. But hey you know what happens at ZaZa stays at ZaZa. Perfect place for a a few nights if he knows how to treat you right!!! Don’t book a night during a huge football game in town though, that was rough.

Zaza really rolled out the red carpet from start to finish. We were in town for a girls weekend, the hotel was incredible but the people were what MADE the stay. From check in to check out it was everything we wanted and more. The hotel has a shuttle (a denali) which will take you where ever you want within a 3 mile radius. The guys who drive the shuttle were the BEST!! So much fun and never seemed like it was a problem dropping us off and picking us up. Stay here, it will not disappoint.

Mia and Matt - at the front desk - provided the best service! Easy check-in! Mia provided excellent information details about the hotel and gave me information about area. Matt gave me full details about their shuttle service. They were genuine!

Pablo was amazing! Love him! Merry Christmas happy new year. Feliz año nuevo. Feliz navidad. Hotel zaza is the best. Try the dark chocolate espresso martini. Super yummy. Good food. Nice staff. Words can’t describe how amazing Pablo is. So thankful for him.

Spent time in group therapy for my first time on Monday night with my family. The ambiance is amazing along with the music. Our server was Jackson and he did an amazing job on recommending wine to pair with our good. Overall the experience was 10/10. Also manager Dakota make an appearance at our table to make sure everything was up to par. Will be back!

This is the place to go! Jackson is the best!!! If you have the chance to have a drink made by him, take it. He makes the experience as well. Not my first time to Austin, but the best time! This is a preference based location and if you inform the team of what you like to drink, they will find the best thing for you. Great team effort. Quality experience.

Great location and rooms that live up to the standard we’ve come to expect from the Zaza brand in Houston. However we had a less than spectacular experience over NYE. We planned on staying two nights but because we were redeeming ZIP points we had to reserve one room with points and another night separately with our credit card. This meant that after our first night we had to check out then check back in to retain our room. Other major hotel brands (Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt) make it much easier to redeem points / rewards nights. Additionally, we had booked a hotel special for NYE that included drinks and food in one of the ballrooms. However despite being obviously 21+ my husband and I were told we couldn’t attend the NYE celebration without IDs (which we had left in our room) We’re currently 39 and 40 - so we could order drinks at the hotel bar without IDs but couldn’t get into the NYE party without an ID. In summary, common sense doesn’t seem to be very common at the Austin Hotel Zaza. Also did not appreciate the 12th floor reeking of weed as we came back to our room. The hallway reeked and the smell was definitely permeating our room.

Hotel Zaza is a beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of downtown - easy walking distance to many things to see and do in Austin. The rooms are spacious with attractive decor, large bathrooms with great showers. The beds are super comfy. The pool area is lovely and peaceful. We enjoyed getting meals and drinks outside while sitting poolside, but also in the restaurant/bar area which is also well designed and decorated. The best part of our experience was the service. The staff at the restaurant accommodated all requests and were incredibly friendly. Aaliyah at the front desk was so pleasant, informative and attentive, addressing all of our needs. Of course be prepared to spend a bit :), but we found it worth it.

The Zaza property in Dallas is always great and this Austin stay was similar. Special shoutout to Aaliyah at the front desk and to the super friendly valets! The rooms are large, as are the bathrooms and showers. Great location if you’re in Austin and I would stay here again.

There is no other place like the Group Therapy experience at Hotel Zaza. Every interaction from servers to managers is full of top tier service. Dakota has made every one of our 30+ family dinners memorable and elevated. He’s truly fantastic.

UPDATE: Got a call from the hotel manager who apologized for my experience & comped some mini-bar charges as a show of good faith. I appreciate the gesture & updated my review to 3 stars. Regret to say that I was disappointed with my experience at Hotel Zaza. While the room was clean & bed was comfortable, service was cold and unwelcoming. I am not sure if I was greeted with a smile by a staff member at any point during my stay, & frequently got the sense that staff members felt annoyed or burdened by minor requests. Valet was visibly frustrated when I asked him to keep my car out as I checked in & dropped off my bag. Front desk met me with a brusque "no" when I called down to see if they happened to have a phone charger (which many hotels of this caliber would). Cleaning staff member looked at me in perplexity when I asked how to access the stairwell & inquired why I would want to take the stairs. Front desk attendant was cold when activating my room key for an extra hour despite granting me a late check-out. Ultimately, every interaction with staff members felt like a business transaction - formal, stiff, and uninviting. At this price point, I would expect more an effort to make guests feel comfortable. Not to mention, I had an unpleasant interaction with another guest who made no effort to control his dog as it sniffed me, poked its head between my legs, pawed at me, & barked on the elevator; he completely ignored me as we got off the elevator. Overall conveyed an air pretentiousness.

We came in to celebrate an anniversary and had a wonderful experience. Priscilla was very attentive and was always there to take of whatever we needed. She recommend some options from the menu that we would definitely come back in to get! Don’t hesitate to come try this place. Great food, atmosphere and staff!

We went to NY Bash 2024 and it was a cheap set up with cheap food. No one passed out champagne at midnight or cared if we had any. The band continued playing songs with the “N” word in them. Just a horrible over priced experience. Don’t waste your money, there are better places you can go to than this place.

I love this hotel. We stayed in the oriental suite and it was the most luxurious experience. Group Therapy is also one of my favorite restaurant and bars in the entire city. Not only are the lamb lollipops a must have but the bartenders are the most knowledgeable and friendly in all of Austin. Demetrius is my fave and he always customizes something amazing according to my tastes since I hate ordering off the menu. Thank you Zaza!!

I am a local from Austin, Texas born and raised now, I have been around some rude individual's in my life, but not this rude and racist from a supervisor while I had a new born in my hands I will be discontinuing my membership because of a mr.kasey not only that but they had the nerve to lie and say i need a room key to enter the building which I have already been in 4 times before without one in order to get a room you have to go through the front door or make a reservation online, in-person, or over phone would be great to see non racist people if anyone can help me contact the owner of the company a MR.Charles Givens I would be grateful

This hotel is in a great location downtown and has all the amenities and services you'd expect from a high-end hotel and the staff are great, but the rooms, although lovely, are designed more for style than function. My biggest complaint is the bathroom lighting - the single light in the ceiling above the sink shines down on the top of your head, which has the same effect visually as holding a flashlight under your chin. It's impossible to see yourself clearly enough to put on makeup or style your hair. The soap and bath products are a chemical soup that, while vegan friendly, contain a host of petrochemical-based ingredients I try to avoid putting on my skin. Most luxury hotels now offer organic skincare products. Instead of a closet, the room has a small armoire with insufficient hanging space for dress-length clothes and the room has no dresser, so I've spent the last three days living out of my suitcase. The only bed coverings are a sheet and heavy down comforter, even though it was 80 degrees the day we arrived. We had to chill the room to the temperature of a ski chalet in order to sleep comfortably. I've begun wondering if the people who designed this place ever actually travel.

Super stylish hotel with lots of great add-ons for guests. The decor is really cool. The young guys at the bell desk who drive you around the city are super friendly and are a real credit to the hotel, unfortunately the rest of the staff are very ordinary.

If you’re disabled and protected by the ADA, avoid this hotel. I had a lovely breakfast but have had fraud on my accounts during a work transition and move from VA to TX. I was rudely kicked out by the hotel manager who identified herself as the top dog, but she’s not. I did not get her name because the female concierge on duty would not give me her name. Her name is Olympia. She said to me over the phone that she chose not to give me her name at this time. 10 in the morning? I will say she was very sure of herself and that I admired. I have spondylolysis Grade 3 at my L1 S five and non-acute bipolar one. As I was leaving the motel, I’ll slip up on that is fine - Olympia the concierge, who not identify herself made a comment that, to wit: “ Sir, your back hurts because the manager was mean to you?“ Yikes. This is the most upset I’ve seen a hotel over a $28 tab since the titanic went down. If you are disabled, avoid this establishment. The saying was keep Austin weird. Now the new saying for me is keep Austin: KIND

Expensive and worth every penny. The bed was the most comfortable one I’ve ever slept in so we felt great the next day. Love the quirky artwork. The Austin location is close to many clubs and restaurants not to mention Zilker park. Definitely returning soon.

I’ve had a great visit every time I’ve come to ZaZa in Austin. Most of the times I stay at hotels I’m kind of stuck doing nothing after 7 if I don’t head out to the city, but it seems like ZaZa is always putting on some sort of event every time I go. I’ll never forget the experience of roasting marshmallows while watching the sun set on downtown Austin.

My experience with this hotel was absolutely fantastic. When I arrived at valet the team of Chris and Max were very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. The check in with Jacob was great. He was very helpful and accommodated all of my special requests. The room was very spacious and bed sleeps extremely comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying at Hotel ZaZa Austin.

The Hotel Zaza Austin Downtown exceeded my expectations, thanks to the outstanding service from Osama and André, who went above and beyond to make my stay memorable, and Jacob, who ensured I had a room with a stunning view. Special shoutout to him, he is a legend! Their attention to detail and warm hospitality made my visit truly exceptional. I will definitely stay there again when I come back to Austin TX!
