Adanus is the first stylist in a very long time that has given me the exact cut I was looking for. She is such a positive person with amazing energy. I always feel like a million bucks when I walk out of her salon. I highly recommend if you are looking for a new place.

I have been seeing Adanus for YEARS and I love her! She was at a different salon before but after moving back to area after being gone for 4 years, I found her at Hue and I am so thankful! I love telling her the idea of what I want to do and then watching her bring that to life in my hair. She is so comfortable to chat with and always supports me even when I want to do something a little funky. The salon itself is also GORGEOUS. I love what they have done with this space. It is so inviting. I will back again soon. Thank you!

I have had Karen at Hue Salon twice and she is absolutely fabulous. She is so patient with my long hair that can take anywhere from 2.5 to 3 hours and did a fabulous job on the cut, highlights, blow dry and styling! Karen gave me the perfect combination of what I wanted and gentle suggestions. While I didn’t have Adanus she was super friendly to chat with and looked like she was doing a good job on her client! I definitely recommend and can’t wait to go back!

I have been going to Karen at Hue Salon now for a year and I appreciate the care she gives me when doing my hair. Karen listens to how I like my hair to look and does a great job at styling my hair. I would definitely recommend anyone to go to Hue Salon. In fact, I recommended a friend to see Karen and she loves having her hair done there also!

I have no idea how this place has more than a single star. I couldn’t make an appointment with my usual hairdresser until the end of November and was in need of a few partial highlights. This place had great reviews, and I made an appointment easily online. When I arrived, I waited a few minutes and then sat with Karen who proceeded to tell me how horrible my hair looked and how I’d need FULL highlights (which is also more money). I showed her pictures and explained several times what I was looking for and then she became frustrated and brought the owner over. The owner, also incredibly rude, laughed at my hair and AGAIN was adamant about full highlights. She made several other accusations which I won’t even repeat because they were insane. To be clear, my hair would’ve been perfectly fine without the highlights and was far from the condition they were insinuating. This has to be one of the most unprofessional businesses I’ve ever been to in my life. Save your hair and go LITERALLY anywhere else in Virginia Beach.

Karen was wonderful! I haven’t had a haircut in over 5 years and was worried about what might look good or wouldn’t look good. She helped me try a few styles until I found one that made me (and my girlfriend) happy. Super pleased and will be coming back

This is my favorite salon! Took me 5 years to find a place in Virginia beach that I trusted with my hair! Everyone is always so friendly and the services are above and beyond! Highly recommend!

Went two times. I gave my formula for a color match. The first time it was too bright and I was told it would take time to match. So I walked out with something I didn’t want but thought it was reasonable to expect it to take time to get it right. Asked for a Demi permanent since I will be out to sea for a while and wanted it to fade without showing the new growth so easily. Asked for a strawberry red, showed the old formula again, said I didn’t want to change it too much from the last time, walked out with a brown red. Asked about bleaching it and was told it’s not a good idea but I am clearly unhappy with it. Was told I wouldn’t be charged for it and, “I’m trying to work with you here,” and then was charged $169 for it. 2/2 times leaving with a color I wasn’t happy with. Definitely won’t be going back. I’m a natural blonde and being in hair regulations is very important to me. Will be washing this excessively to hopefully get it to fade faster. Not impressed for paying lots of money for something I didn’t want… TWICE.

Definitely recommend this salon - they were able to fit me in for a haircut at the last minute before an unexpected trip out of town; the stylist was wonderful and welcoming, and the salon itself is adorable!

I went in with previously splotchy, box dyed hair thinking there was no hope. When I got there my stylist sat me down and told me that she could do it. And omg she did. She was so nice and understanding the whole time. I walked out feeling better than ever with a beautiful balayage!

SUPERB!!. So, I've had some pretty awful experiences with attempting to achieve my natural hair color. Apparently going from a warm color to cool is pretty difficult, but Adanus made it happen! It was definitely a "Trust the process", but Adanus took her time, did not perform any shortcuts (which is what I've experienced) and worked her magic!! I am in love with my color and could not be more pleased. I wanted to get rid of all that warm/brassy looking color, go towards my natural ash brown, with highlights to welcome my incoming silver... and I got exactly what I wanted. Thank you Adanus!!! ❤️

Went for my first haircut in a long time. Karen was so great and patient because I have haircut anxiety from previously bad experiences. She took her time, asked lots of questions to make sure she was doing what I wanted, and was overall just a fantastic stylist. I actually came back in later that same day to get my sons first haircut, which was also great. Highly recommend for those who may experience stress or anxiety while getting a new look.

Karen is AMAZING 💕🩷💕🩷 I am the WORLDS most critical when it comes to my blonde (highlights & balayage)...and she slays EVERY TIME. She isnt just a stylist who can only do color either, your cut will be perf and she always takes the time to make sure she understands exactly what youre looking for🤌🤌🤌!! Highly Recommend!!! Xoxo! Came in for a highlight/cut. Adanus listened to what I wanted and I didn’t even show pictures - turned out perfectly. She has 30+ years experience doing hair, and it shows in her work! Will definitely be back :)

I paid $160. For my roots to be colored and my eyebrows to be messed up. I didn't rate my experience a 1 star because they took me as a walk-in. After I got home, I couldn't help but notice I still had grey hairs. The place just wasn't my vibe. I felt like I had inconvenienced them.

I spent years growing my hair out so I was nervous to get it cut, but Karen really listened to me, took her time, and made sure I felt comfortable. She gave me exactly what I asked for and my husband said it was the best haircut I ever had !

Had a great early evening at Hue. As a first time visitor I was nervous and hopeful! I love my cut and color. My daughter also got an amazing cut. Karen and Adonus are wonderful. They are patient and very sweet. I plan to hopefully try many different cuts and colors in the future with them. It's so hard now a days to find the right person and connect. They made that seem effortless. My daughter felt like her ideas were heard and wonderfully used in the perfect cut for her.

Karen is amazing! She basically performed a miracle on my hair! I came in with damaged, bleached hair and three layers of color and grown out roots. I asked for her to blend my natural gray into the rest of my hair and I left with beautiful blended highlights that were even better than I thought possible! I cannot recommend Hue enough! They were super accommodating for my schedule and I am so thankful!

My wife went to this location. She got a perm and a specialized hair style. Everything looks great, however from what was supposed to be $160 total came out being over $270. The stylist did not inform my wife about the extra fee until she paid and I mentioned why the extra. She did apologize, but she did not inform my wife about being charged extra for her time or volume of hair.

I had an amazing experience at this salon. Adanus took care of me. She was able to accommodate me into her busy schedule last minute. The color highlights are holding up well. I love the cut too!!! Well worth the visit. Highly recommend.

Adanus is incredibly talented, professional, and kind. She has done texturizing hair cuts for the past year and on two occasions, some vibrant colors.
