I highly recommend Huei Salon. I have been a client for years and often get compliments on my hair. I always give credit to Kelly and Rick for having good hair, cut and color. I’ve recommended Huei to co-workers, neighbors and friends and everyone who has come to Huei loves how their hair looks and feels. Even my husband gets his hair cut at Huei. The salon is peaceful and the focus is 100% on your hair and having a good experience. Also, Aveda products really create beautiful healthy hair that looks and smells amazing! My hair shines like moonlight after every visit with Kelly. Her scissors are magic! I love how well she knows the Aveda products and shows me how to use them so I can enjoy styling my hair at home, too. I have been going to aveda salons for 3 years and I found this salon recently. I received a hair trim and hair color. Kelley did an amazing job in getting the color just right. She also gave me very helpful tips in how to take care of color hair. She was so friendly and kind! I definitely recommend Huei!

On June 29, 2023 I visited the Aveda Hair Salon at 5343 Sunset Blvd in Lexington SC. My reason for the visit was an all-over heavy highlight and a haircut. I was VERY specific when I made the appointment and in person with the owner. I showed the salon owner a picture of myself with the exact color and cut I wanted (ash blonde). Additionally, I stressed that I wanted no more than 3-inches cut off strait with no angles or face framing. The owner spoke in broken English but when asked, confirmed that she fully understood what I asked for. The only people in the salon was the salon owner/hair stylist, her husband/co-owner, and myself. When the job was done 2-hours later I knew something was wrong because after a lifetime of getting my hair fully highlighted and cut, I know it takes at least 3.5-hours or longer for the process. As the salon owner I trusted that she knew what she was doing so it was shocking when half way through the cut she asked if I wanted a “U” shape which is the complete opposite of what I asked for! The first thing I did was put my glasses on and saw my haircut was angled, uneven, and was noticeably crooked. It was far shorter than we had agreed on and at least 6-inches had been cut off. Equally alarming, the color was COMPLETELY wrong and nothing like the picture of myself I had shown her. My immediate thoughts were; the level of incompetence is disturbing and strongly questioned if she had done this intentionally. When I expressed my concerns the owner became so hostile so I took out my cellphone and started recording the encounter. As I was still seated, the salon owner noticeably became more agitated and frustrated. She began getting closer to my face as she was waving scissors around. She then repeated several times for me to “just leave!” and then she hit me! I was so shocked that I had been hit, I went over to her husband who was just a few feet away and had witnessed the event. I approached the husband stating “you saw what happened” and he replied “no comment”. After leaving the salon I was so shaken over the assault and battery that I involved the police. I cannot stress to anyone considering using this salon to stay clear. It was only after reviewing the photos/video that I realized how dirty her tools/comb was. Additionally, the salon was only moderately clean at best and the owner becomes violent when someone expresses dissatisfaction.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST experience I've ever had at any salon! The owner of the salon BUTCHERED my hair. I trusted the hair salon owner, that was my first mistake. She barely spoke English. This cut is SO bad I don't think this was done by accident! The uncleanliness alone should have had me walking out the door but I didn't want to make the owner uncomfortable. My hair is ruined and I'm absolutely disgusted and horrified. This woman should not be cutting hair! Everything went so wrong.

First I went I was a walk-in.Mr Rick gave me a haircut. I love the cut, he was very professional & nice. So 6weeksl later I made an appointment with Ms Kelly ( Mr Rick’s wife), I got a hair cut & highlights. Ms Kelly was awesome.she took her time& was very professional & nice. I Have found myself a new hair salon that I will be going to all the time! Already made my next appt. Love Love My Hair.

My son had his first men's haircut and she was so patient and helpful in making his hair perfect for the start of the school year. So I got full blonde highlights done with a cut. I paid $230+...I have cried 4 times since because my hair is ruined and very yellow and even though he trimmed my hair it's still very very damaged. I'm having to go and get it fixed. They're very nice and very sweet BUT terrible at coloring and cutting. Save your money and hair.

Mrs. Chen is so talented! All I had to do was show her a picture of what I wanted and she replicated it perfectly!! The cut I requested was not easy and she really took her time to do it right. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone.

This place is not the cheapest and not super expensive either (15$ for a haircut). Do yourself a favor and pay a little extra for a haircut, your family will thank you for it. The atmosphere is very relaxed and it is family owned.
