I visited this salon just before Christmas for a blow dry, trim, and glycolic treatment. The stylist was friendly and did a great job washing my hair, but there were a few issues during the service. I asked for a glycolic treatment, and I told her this before she started washing but I still had to remind her to apply it. I didn't realize it hadn't been applied until another client brought it up. She added it on top of the conditioner she already put in my hair while we were under the steamer. From what I know, strengthening treatments are typically applied before conditioner, and not on top of it, to maximize their effectiveness, so I'm not sure if it was done correctly. Additionally, I felt that the stylist lacked confidence in her skills, which made me nervous when she was applying heat to my hair. The blow dry itself was fine in the end, but my roots were still puffy at first. Fortunately, a senior stylist stepped in to help and showed her how to properly blow dry my hair. A few other things: I was charged for a bra-strap length blow dry, even though my hair is shorter than that; and the stylist was getting her hair done in between doing my hair and I had to wait for her to finish her hair before she started on my mine, not sure if that is customary here but I thought it was strange and unprofessional. While the staff was kind and salon was clean, I didn't receive the level of attention and care I'm used to at other salons, so I won’t be returning.

I’ve experienced Huetiful Atlanta so I’m already in love with the brand and grateful for the opportunity to afford the experience in my lifetime. I was a youngin when Huetiful first started and couldn’t wait to grow up and be able to afford going to Huetiful! But fast forward to my FIRST Huetiful Chicago experience! Monique solidified Huetiful’s place in my heart! She gave me a silk press that took me back to my mom’s kitchen but without the hot comb FRESH off the stove! Monique recreated that childhood warm nostalgic memory for me💜 It looks like and feels like Monique gave extra TLC to each hair strand from the wash to the press! I look forward to my next appointment with Monique!💜

I received a curly cut from Stylist Monique at the end of June. I love my natural haircut, she was very personable, knowledgeable, and encouraged me to ask questions and answered all inquiries I had related to my hair. She took her time during my big chop and it came out lovely.

Monique did a phenomenal job fixing a bad hair cut my mom received from another stylist. On short notice, she was able to fit my mom into her packed weekend schedule. She took the time to understand the improvements my mom wanted to see and provided her with some guidance around how best to style her hair. Thank you Monique!

CUSTOMERS BEWARE!! If I could rate this salon a 0 I would. 4 weeks ago I made an appointment for knotless braids. I received a confirmation for the appointment for $250. 2 days before my appointment I get a reminder about my appointment and the price increased to $350. I called the number on their site got a hold of owner, Ken, he said he’d honor the price I scheduled for. Day of my appointment a10:58am I get a text from Damia saying she is sick and needs to reschedule. My appointment was at 11am. Ken the owner said he was aware she was vomiting all morning. I understand things happen, however why was I informed at 10:58am? You weren’t going to make the appointment and Damia or the owner didn’t think to let me know before having me drive an hour to the appointment. I go to Jamaica tomorrow and this establishment put me in a bind due to their unprofessionalism. If you wish to avoid the drama with stylist avoid this place. This is my second bad experience with them, I should have learned my lesson the first time.

I had high hopes in Rachel coming in here but I was unfortunately left disappointed. I came in asking to get my roots touched up. I had been getting my hair highlighted in NYC but I wanted my roots done before graduation and to get more highlights. Instead of the blond highlights I asked for , I was left with this reddish brown hue. While I don’t think it looks terrible, it’s not what I asked for and I paid quite a bit for a result I’m unfortunately very disappointed in. Not only that, but she barely actually touched my roots. Going to have to pay for someone else to get it corrected.

I have been coming to Heautiful for more than a year and a half and the services were great. I returned to get a new color and had some adverse outcomes (another stylist). However, the owner Kenneth and hair colorist Rachel helped address the issue and restored my confidence in hair coloring styles. I admire their approach and assessment to providing a resolution to correct a problem. I am happy to say that it was a better choice for an outcome and will be returning to Heautiful for more hair styling and treatments.

I met with Rachel O today to get color treated for the first time. Initially, I was very nervous as I had never done this before. However, she made me feel more at ease when describing the process. I will definitely be coming back for maintenance and maybe even more color!

I went to Huetiful and got a silk press/blowout and a haircut with Rachel Odem. She took the time to consult with me about my hair, walked me through how I can best take care of my hair and steps to healthy hair care. She asked me questions each step of the way and I loved the results in the end. Will definitely be re-booking with Rachel.

I went to Huetiful. Rachel was my stylist. $100 down the drain. Horrible flat twist out. This is fresh from the shop. I had an event to go to that night. I had to wash my hair and try to fix it up in 2hrs.

I will highly recommend the master colorist at Huetiful salon! She did such an amazing job on my hair and gave me a custom look, something that I thought was not achievable. She also gave me great tips on how to deal with the after care as well as what products to use and were to purchase them. Thank you for making me feel beautiful!

My stylist, Rachel, was absolutely amazing. I hadn't been to a hair salon in a year because I'd had a bad experience with my last stylist and was jaded with the whole natural hair salon experience. But, I wanted a new hairdo, so I booked with Rachel for a twist updo. Well, after assessing my scalp and hair condition, she recommended the glycol treatment with a blowout. I was nervous about straightening my hair because it had been over 5 years since I'd seen myself with straight hair. My fears were put at ease. Rachel worked her magic, and I was EXTREMELY satisfied. So much so that I'll be returning. She was thorough, engaging, informative, and she walked me through each step of the process, which I loved! The compliments are still coming in. I highly recommend Rachel for your natural hair needs.

Update: Damia is amazing! She is attentive, courteous and meticulous. Her styling of my hair was exactly what I wanted. So happy she has joined! —— Update: Monique is a true veteran in every sense. Her professionalism and tips on how to style and care for my hair really made me want to do better for myself with maintenance and wear my natural curls. So happy for a salon that encourages what I value! —— This is the type of business that I am most proud to support! From the owner to the stylists, they understand and promote the science of proper natural hair care. That is, surprisingly, hard to find! My daughter and I have both had services pre/post pandemic - through a few changes and staff-shortages. I am impressed with how seamlessly they've maintained a high level of professionalism and dedication. Stylist Carrie is knowledgeable, responsive and gentle! She understands what I want and finds a ways to do just that. Huetiful has proven to be about more than just a nice style! Been wanting to go "Red" for years now, but had so many fears about damaging my hair, the color fading quickly, etc. I am so glad I chose Rachel to work her magic! She was so professional & kind, answered all my questions prior to my appointment, and gave great tips on how to care for my hair and my new custom color! She took her time and literally painted my hair, and I have received sooo many compliments! I live in Wisconsin, and will certainly be driving back to Chicago for her services! Huetiful salon was phenomenal on my first visit today. The establishment was located in a well lit and secure building. Each station was pristine and the staff was friendly and seemed close nit. Ms. Rachel has a gift that is remarkable. She devised and outlined the specific needs of my thick, color treated natural hair. Kept me informed throughout the process from start to end. I had a 100% wonderful experience with erin at this shop. I chose to do the scalp sculpting which was really helpful for me to understand what is going on with my scalp. I received great tips in addition I usually go to another place to have a Brazilian blowout this is the first time I went to a black owned shop and they did a wonderful job. I’m so proud of them and addition they used a special type of blow dryer on my hair which was fantastic. I love the whole entire experience and I’m definitely going back they also have perks and discounts so yes please go here.

It's been years since I was here; I'm not in the US, but I LOVED everything about this salon while I was there! Really wish Huetiful would expand globally. Desperately NEED a hair salon like this. Please consider expanding to more locations/ countries.

Rachel does an excellent job with keeping my hair healthy and vibrant. I decided to color my hair and let Rachel decide the best color for me. My hair color turned out gorgeous and I constantly get compliments. Rachel is always on time and gets me in and out of her chair in no time. The atmosphere was nice and the building feels secure. My daughter and I saw Carrie who helped us start our loc journey. We've only had 1 appointment each, but the future seems promising as Carrie is kind and Sweet. She informed us on how to care for our hair afterwards and answered all of my questions. Carrie along with the other beauticians worked well together which was nice also. Very warm and welcoming environment. We left dry (not wet from shampooing) and without sore scalps. :)
