The new IGK space on the Upper West Side is absolutely stunning. The entire experience feels elevated—exactly what you’d expect from the brand. Marc is hands-down the best hairstylist; my hair has never looked better. Highly recommend a visit!

You know how some people are serial daters? That was me with hairstylists…until i met Marc Ballance. Marc is like a wizard stylist. I trust him with my hair…and my life. Every cut is perfect, each blowout has me feeling like a supermodel. But even better than the results is how much fun i have when I’m in the chair. He’s so personable, and i feel like I’ve known him for years. Highly recommend booking him

I went to Ariel and Ola and they are both AMAZING!!! HIGHLY recommend Ariel for hair color!! She has done an unreal job every time I have gone to her and I love that she listens to what you want and also tells you what will work / not work with hair. Ola gave me an amazing hair cut and did an incredible job. A few days after my hair cut I was even stopped by a woman to tell me how perfectly even my hair was !!

Marc is one of the most talented hairdressers I know! He not only takes amazing care of you from the moment you step into the salon, but he takes the time to consult before every cut me makes. He makes sure that whatever style you want to go for fits your facial shape and is very thorough in the way he cuts as well. I could go even more in depth but I think you should just go and find out for yourself!! Getting a cut and style by him is a whole experience and even though my last cut has been a while ago, it still looks amazing so they last a long time as well! 11/10

My experience with Marc was wonderful. He completely listened to what I was trying to accomplish and gave me an incredible cut. Unlike so many salons trying to push you into the trending style, he understood that I was looking to achieve something different and was honest about what we could accomplish given some necessary time to grow in hair. The results were amazing and he was so kind and not pretentious. Will definitely be back.

BOOK IT! Do yourself a favor a book with Marc Ballance @marc_ballace at IGK Salon. I got a cut and style/blowout. He’s a magician and he apparently comes from a family lineage of Hair Stylists—which is no surprise. The perfect balance between giving you the look you want and gently suggesting the look you never knew you needed—that’s why his last name is BALLANCE. IGK products only enhanced the look by giving my fine, thin, stick straight hair volume. Pure magic.

Not only is Marc incredibly talented, but he also has an eye for detail and a remarkable ability to understand exactly what you’re envisioning—even when you struggle to describe it yourself! He listened carefully, offered expert advice, and then worked his magic to deliver the best haircut I’ve ever had. Beyond that, Marc left me with a style that perfectly suited my face shape and lifestyle, truly offering a thoughtful and personalized experience. In addition to his immense talent, what really sets Marc apart is his genuine care for his clients. I can’t recommend him highly enough!

It has been an absolute pleasure and privilege being able to sit in Marc’s chair at IGK. I have never in my life had a better experience getting my hair cut and styled. I am one of the most hesitant people to get my hair cut, because like a lot of others, I’m very attached to it, specifically the length of it after I had an awful cut a few years prior with a different stylist. Marc not only gave me a very in depth consult, but took the time to understand exactly what it was that I wanted, and absolutely delivered on that. Last, but certainly not least, and quite possibly most important- he has the most warm, welcoming spirit and his banter is 10/10 (I used to be the type who just wanted to quietly get my hair done without talking during the appt, but that changed with him.) I went in for a haircut and came out with an AMAZING cut and an even more AMAZING friend. Don’t wait any longer to sit in his chair at IGK and get the hair of your dreams.

When I first started going to IGK, my hair was a mess and I didn’t know what to do with it. The team has not only transformed my hair, they have fully transformed me! My confidence level is at an all time high and I’m entirely grateful. I’ve gotten extensions, cuts, color correction, trims, blowouts - you name it and it’s all been worth every dollar. I can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you team Torres and Kristin !!

Super fun salon, all the stylists have a great sense for style and invest their energy in creating the right look with you. Stephanie Brown and Liz Rim have been my go-to for years and years and they treat every session like a special occasion. Love these ladies and all of their assistants!

Took me a while to write this review, but it's good for places to reflect and use feedback to improve. I went about 3-4 times to one stylist who probably gave me one of the best haircuts/styling I've ever had. I think she is very talented at her craft. Sadly, I would never return to this salon. Two times, she left in the middle of my cut and went to look at jewelry. Someone came in to sell jewelry the last two times I was there and both times, she left me (mid-cut/no explanation) and spent several minutes talking to the woman who brought in the jewelry. For about $300 a cut, a paying customer who also traveled to get there (or any customer for that matter), should not be left in the middle of cut while the stylist shops and chats with other employees about jewelry. I am still so taken aback by this behavior. The vibe there is a little gimmicky-the place needs to realize that not all their customers are 20-something instagrammers who do kissy face for the camera. Unless, that is who they cater to and want.

Stephanie always does a great job highlighting my hair. Just as important, I’m greeted with a friendly smile, the salon runs on time, and her assistant is warm, friendly, and talented.
