🚨attention young aspiring stylists🚨 This is not the place you want your first full service salon experience to be as a new cosmo. Owner has a reputation for exploiting young stylists to have manager responsibilities with NO pay. I will share my experience, and after I decided to leave i had tenured and previous stylists contact me confirming that owner has done to me what she's done to other young people in the past. Commission based pay ONLY, with 60/40 split for new hires. Owner does not stick to prices posted on her website. She makes up a price for each customer. This is very anxiety inducing, because each time you check out a client you are scrambling to find out what to charge and hoping the customer doesnt get mad because they are DEFINITELY being overcharged. Owner does not keep track of inventory, and most of the time you are on your own as far as formulating. Tenured stylist try to help, but there are very few of them and schedule doesn't always line up for them to be there to help you. Some times there will not be a color in stock so you're stalling while owner goes to the store to buy the color with your client sitting in the chair. Very stressful. Its not all bad. Owner generally is very nice and tries to "work" with you on scheduling and pay. But really is breadcrumbing so you stay. I was promised a management role with pay. I carried out many responsibilities such as addressing issues with irate customers, responding to negative reviews, creating an inventory system through excel, creating advertisements and helped with marketing strategies, and managing the front desk and checking customers out for other stylists. Everything was ok until the hairstylist kept offering me their different services like coloring and the Brazilian blow out, and kept showing me pics on his Facebook and wanted me to add him so I could look at his work portfolio. I felt on the spot and I added him, but to also continue the hair relationship. But that night, he messaged me to ask me out for drinks. I thanked him for the haircut and the invite, he then deleted the messages and unfriended me. I live right down the street from the salon and my sister in law and I had our hair coloring scheduled for the near future. I was very happy with the salon’s services, but I will NOT be returning, just so some weirdo can be hitting on me, when all I wanted was my hair done.

First time. Very accommodating post hip surgery. Went in for a haircut initially, but then switched to a Brazilian blowout. Best I’ve ever had. Great job. Super professional from beginning to end. Everyone weighed in on my “ new look”. Felt energized and rejuvenated after months of health struggles. Very much appreciated. My new GO TO SALON!

I recently went to Image Makers to get my hair cut. I normally do the chain hair cutting places but the stylist that cut my hair the way I liked left and when I tried someone else, it was not what I wanted. I get a normal 1.5 fade with finger length on top. The stylist at Image Makers new exactly what I asked for cut it to perfection. The staff is friendly and welcoming!!

I WOULD RATE ZERO STARS IF I HAD THAT OPTION!! I cannot warn you enough about this place but want anyone who seeks services here BE AWARE! 1. If you are blonde and want to stay blonde don’t go to this place for your high lights! Our daughter recently had her hair highlighted and cut for a special event—Prom, her service was done by Xuan and 1st she left 1.5 inch roots 2nd did a terrible highlight throughout , very blocky and not well blended. She called and was told to return to the salon so she went back to get it smudged/ fixed… Now to the next bad experience and 3rd issue: the smudging with Alandra Elizondo left her roots a brassy orange color that she was not happy with. She left with a bottle of purple shampoo that she had to pay extra for. Why would we need to purchase product if the hair is done correctly in the first place we shouldn’t need this! 4 the owner refused to refund any money and or nor did anything to make it right! She was charged over $300 for terrible results. BTW the website pricing states highlights start at $145. She was charged $50 for a teeny tiny trim that took less than 5 minutes and was trimmed with dry hair and was also charged extra for toner… somehow her services ended up over $300. If your staff makes a mistake you should do what it takes to fix it even if that means doing it yourself and or offering a refund I understand that hair prices are what they are but the customer walking out spending over $400 and hating the results is not right and not good business. Perhaps I should look into whether this place and its staff are properly licensed?? This experience has brought my daughter to tears and what should have been a fun experience turned into a nightmare! NEVER GO HERE FOR CUT OR COLOR! We certainly will never return! We see the owner/ manager replies to 5 star ratings, I wonder if I will get a reply to this

Friendly owner and staff. They truly care about their customers being happy with their work. When I didn’t end up liking the new color I wanted to try they fit me in as soon as they could to make sure I was happy with the results :)

Truly a quality salon. When you walk in the door, you will see beautiful Sandra’s smiling face greeting all of her customers. Sandra is always more than helpful with her scheduling and very happy to lend a complement and a helping hand with appointment making. Ashley has been coloring, highlighting, and cutting my hair for almost 10 years now. She is very accommodating with her schedule, does a fantastic job, and ALWAYS gives exactly what you ask for,. She knows what is in trending and will give helpful suggestions to anyone who wants them without being pushy. Her cuts grow out nicely, and she is a true professional in every way- It’s always comforting to sit in her chair and relax, knowing you will leave with exactly what you ask for. Chi the hairstylist did an awesome job! My daughter was very happy, 100% would recommend! Very profesional and courteous as well.

After reading a few great reviews I booked an appointment online. I have been coloring my hair for many years, I know what to expect when i let my hair grow out into my natural dark brown. this place was highly deceiving. I left the place in tears First, I got a haircut by Phillip on Friday, it wasn't what i asked for but it wasn't terrible. He told me he was a color specialist/ educator with experience in fashion shows and high end salons. i decided to book him for a balayage for the next day. He did not know what he was doing. He worked on my hair from 10:15ish to 0315. I had to ask him to color correct my hair twice to the front. it was horrible. first it was brassy and uneven, he then bleached again and left it yellow. I asked him to just tone it back to a darker brown. I was in complete panic. Had I said nothing he would have let me out the salon. what professional stylist does that?? After the second time he corrected the color he blow dried my hair and When i touched my hair I had product on the top of my head. i asked him to rinse it, i did not allow hin to hair dry anymore i could not deal with the incompetence anymore. the manager seemed aware of what was happening and showed absolutely no concern, did not attempt to step in at all. it seems the salon charges per service not by level of stylist. I assumed because of the area i was paying for good quality hair stylist. I paid $80 for the haircut and $200 for the balayage. when i got home i was able to see the back of my head it was horrible. i will post pictures.

Beyond horrible customer service. I waited 45 minutes for Steph to show up when I went. I then paid extensively more than I’ve ever paid for a haircut/color. It wasn’t quite as I wanted to I went back and waited another 15 minutes and then was told I would be charged additionally to touch it up to what I wanted. Horrible service!

Go see Steph! I needed to get an “emergency” haircut back in March and I called Image Makers and they got me in same day. Steph cut my hair and did amazing. Went back to her to get balayage done and let me tell you, she never disappoints! The entire staff is super sweet and accommodating. Thank you Image Makers! Big shout out to Steph for making my experience and hair amazing!

I had such an amazing experience at Image Makers thanks to Philip! I moved to the Stone Oak area a couple of months ago and decided to give Image Makers a try. I was in HUGE need of a makeover! Philip was so attentive and professional. He listened to what I had in mind for my haircut. I wanted a dramatic change so I went really short and he suggested some side bangs and texture. He then styled my hair with beautiful beach waves and I fell in love! So so happy with the final results! Thank you Philip!!

I have gone to Stephanie twice now! The first time I got a hair cut which turned out spectacular! She did my first ever hair color in a beautiful strawberry blonde balayage. I dont know how this place has 4.6 stars. I went in for all around 1 color & a couple strands of light brown in the front, after 3 hours they start blow drying my hair & I notice my front hair is PURPLE. I'm completly shocked & ask them if this is normal, they said yes & that it would wash out in 3 washes. How am I supposed to walk out a salon with PURPLE hair?! They offer to fix it with toner, it looks PINK now, & when I go to pay after 4 hours there & PURPLE/PINK hair, they want to charge me $400. I come from Miami, FL & not even a huge metropolitan area charges me that for anything!!! I tell the lady to go over the charges & I have to tell THEM to take out unnecessary charges & I have to tell THEM that I deserve a discount for their mess up. Completly unprofessional & unknowledgable to be a salon in Stone Oak!!! (I ended up paying $270, which is still more than I have ever paid for anything).

UPDATE: I came in for a bang trim today, and they charged me $20. I have never in my adult life gone to a low-end salon, and that’s why I found it disappointing that I didn’t not receive a free bang trim after spending over $400 last week. I have never paid for a bang trim. I’m surprised they weren’t interested in fostering loyalty; even after I took the time to write a glowing review, post on Instagram and Yelp (which they asked me to). I originally thought this place was decent, but am disappointed that not only did I not get the length of bangs I asked for the first time (a fact I was willing to overlook, bc I liked them), but was charged $20 less than a week later to have it fixed. ORIGINAL POST: I went in today with v damaged, green hair. Lol Chi, my beautiful stylist, made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process! She was v warm and inviting, and seemed to genuinely care about my experience. Chi turned my three-toned, DIY hair into something I can truly feel proud about! ✨ She took her time, and it came out better than my inspiration photos! I have received several compliments since leaving today, and will definitely be returning! She also took the time to take before and after as photos, which made me feel so special! 🥰 All of the stylist were so sweet, too! 10 out of 10 would def recommend!
