Alex was incredible! He helped me figure out exactly what I wanted, then executed perfectly. He was so warm, kind, gentle, and knowledgeable. The salon was great too! Really nice atmosphere. Would highly recommend the salon and definitely will book with Alex again!

Nice salon with friendly staff! Siena was awesome and helped me pick a new hairstyle. They listened to what I was looking for and gave me advice and ideas, too. They were also very friendly and funny. I'll definitely be back when I need a haircut again.

I had an haircut yesterday with Alex and had a wonderful experience.Staff was very welcoming and Alex did exactly what I asked and was looking for.he was very attentive and kind. I will be returning soon for sure .

It’s my first time here. Donated my locks after growing it for 3 years. They were extremely supportive and took great care of me and I got a solid haircut to boot! No wait, people were very pleasant and welcoming, and a clean environment. 5⭐️

I always go to Siena at Ingmar James, and they nail it every time! They're great at collaborating with me to figure out the right style/color and they also just rule as a person. The rest of the staff is awesome and friendly.

Just stopped by for my second haircut with Jean, and both haircuts have been fantastic. I'm trying to grow my hair out and Jean has been a huge support--exactly the help I needed. Amazing staff, chill atmosphere.

So lucky to have found this salon in the neighborhood after a few not-so-great appointments elsewhere. Jean literally saved my hair from a botched dark brown dye on my natural blonde hair and brought me to a PERFECT ashy balayage in 3 sessions without damaging my hair. Everyone in the salon is super friendly and the vibes are low-key enough that I can read a book peacefully or just relax during my appointment. Super accommodating with hours & scheduling and great prices for the quality of work. Will be coming here as long as I live in the area!!

I went to get balayage highlights for my first time and Matthew did such an amazing job! I have very dark hair so was worried the highlights won’t show too well. Matthew was very detailed and patient with his work, slowly painting each section and checking to see if they needed more time or heat. He also kindly answered any questions I had. In the end he beautifully styled my hair with a curling iron. I came out with stunning soft beach curls with blonde highlights that framed my face. He truly went above and beyond! I am so happy with the outcome and received many compliments. I’ve already recommend this place to a friend of mine and can’t recommend it enough if you are reading this review!

First time at a salon , my very first experience was amazing! My stylist Gemma was very attentive to my needs and knew what I want and how I wanted it . She was very friendly , funny and professional! Made me feel glamorous ! I highly recommend this salon and Gemma the overall vibe was welcoming.

WIlliam and Garret are always so friendly, warm and inviting to this fun and friendly LGBTQIA+ establishment on Broadway Ave. in the East Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago. Having lived just down the street pre-pandemic, I would come here often to see my girl, Jean. She cuts hair fantastically and you can tell that she loves what she does and she loves her clients. She is realistic (which all stylists have to be) but stylish, knows trends and is super fun. She is an expert with how to work with different textures and volumes...she also knows how to fade well. Being Indian by descent, Jean knows how to work with volume. I highly recommend her to anyone, especially to Middle Eastern, Central and South Asian men and women since I can personally vouch for this.

I'm always able to find street parking right in front. My stylist, Siena, is always on time. The cut is perfect and there is a great product selection. 10/10 will visit again.

Got a haircut from Yvette, and I loved the outcome! I just moved here recently so it was my first time. I got many inches off, and she blew dried my hair and gave me some tips on how to add volume since my hair is very straight. Definitely will come back! Very nice service and people.

I booked an appointment online for haircut and color and meant to book it with Jackie or Yvette because both of those stylists were recommended for curly hair. When it came to the day of the appointment I felt like I might as well just keep the person that I booked with so that I don’t mess up her day. Jean was the person I booked with and she was wonderful! I’m so happy with the cut she did and for the color too! My hair came out great and I’m so grateful to have found this place, right in my neighborhood! Jean was excellent and I like her quiet way! The salon has a cool vibe. Love the exposed brick and the friendly atmosphere!

I have had my hair cut and colored by Kat for about 5 years before moving out of Illinois. She is great! My naturally dark hair had seen a lot of colors during that time - brown, red and blonde. I've had bobs, long layers, curtain bangs etc. Kat did amazing for every look. If you are looking for a color transformation or even just great stylist - she should be your go to! She is also really nice and fun to talk to which is a plus when you are spending hours at the salon.

Wanted to go for a sassy, drastic cut, since my hair has been really fragile and falling out due to a medical issue. Decided to go with a french bob with some shorter bangs. Jackie knew exactly what I needed and executed the vision flawlessly. My hair feels ten times thicker now and I have gotten so many compliments since I got the chop just a few days ago. She has a long wait to get in to see her, but she is worth that wait. And she’s also just a deeply kind person with a great sense of humor and an upbeat attitude that makes you feel so comfortable and confident. So grateful to her and Ingmar James! I feel like a supermodel now.

Was banned from the salon for an unknown reason and could not get my deposit on another service. I had to cancel my transformation color appointment because of an emergency. I canceled 48 hours in advance and I was penalized for a family emergency! I have gone to their salon twice and two stylists with Kat in particular, did not know how to cut my 3C hair. It cannot be cut wet. She attempted..and couldn’t. So she straightened it. Barely gave me a style, very few layers. She was the one that wrote a “note” on me and until they speak with her, I cannot return for any service. They never called her. I never got a call back. I have always been kind and courteous to the stylists, however, I did notice that I do not fit the aesthetic socio-economically or racially. I paid the $100 deposit in cash, had to return home to get it, and it was a bit awkward. I am a mixed race woman. I spoke with my mother about this. Their demeanor toward me was either extremely racist or classist. Terrible customer service. They write “notes” on you. I can’t imagine why. Rudest “customer service” ever. They made me feel like I 100% do not belong. So sad. 😔
