My wife got a Peekaboo haircut and color today and she hasn't been this happy in years. Or kids have always loved going there and they've always been THE best place around for your hairstyling needs. Highly recommended.

I debated on whether or not I wanted to say something or not. I went to get my hair cut here, I just moved to Shawano not that long ago. I called to get a hair cut. Kristina cut my hair. Thought she was VERY nice, she RUINED my hair. I went in wanting something different. I showed her 3-4 pictures of length inspiration. All medium length cuts to which were all pretty close to the same length. I told her how I had lost all my confidence after having my daughter, how my hair has always been like a security blanket to me. I have only trimmed 2-4inches of it once a year for the last 10 year or so. My hair was all the way down to my butt. I knew I was asking for a huge cut… I told her it was too long to manage, needed something a little easier on me to manage, but still be able to get it up into that mom bun, when I’m feeling lazy, that was VERY important. I needed more of convenience. She asked if I wanted to donate my hair. I said if there was enough sure. She sectioned off my hair into pony tails to donate. She cut the initial cut, it was an okay length. She cut off about 20 inches to donate. She then washed my hair, of course I knew she needed to even it out so she had to cut more, this i figured would be more of like 1/2 inch to 1 inch since she cut so much off. She started cutting and when she got to the front I was PANICKING. She CHOPPED my hair. No disregard to what i said, didn’t care of the inspo photos, she just cut to basically the length she wanted. I can’t even get it all up in a pony tail anymore let alone a bun, I have to straighten it everyday or i look like a poodle, there’s no styling to be done to it, it looks TERRIBLE. Even the cut is awful. It’s SO choppy, the layers are bad, and ITS STILL NOT EVEN. She obviously could tell I was upset, and I said many times “ that’s so short, that’s shorter than i expected, etc.” she kept cutting. She told me “ good thing it’s just hair. And it grows back.” It’s not JUST hair to all of us, and the rough time I’ve been going thru and the lack of confidence she made it 10x worse by ruining my hair. I’m SO upset. I called the next day to talk to the manager. I think I spoke to the owner. She was apologetic, but offered me a facial and a style in condolences for what happened. I didn’t go… I don’t know what a facial and a style does to fix the hair that was taken … the terrible job her employee did to my hair. She should have offered to fix my hair, you can’t glue mine back on, but you definitely can add length with extensions and that would have been the RIGHT thing to offer. I realize they’re very expensive…. But maybe the stylist should have been more careful with something that wasn’t “just hair” to me, and to a LOT of people it’s not just hair. So I will never go back here, and I will never say good things about it. I’m completely devastated about how I look, and it made my hair way more inconvenient than it ever was. So Island Tropics, thanks for ruining my hair.

Wow!!!! Magnificent Megan is what she should be named! My daughter and I got our hair washed, highlighted and styled!!! What talent she is gifted with. She also is truly an asset to this business. So many services this business has to offer. God bless her and the owner of this business. Y'all... I am telling you Christina did a phenomenal job on my hair! She did my little girl's hair a few weeks ago and did an excellent job with that as well!! I asked for a hair color to get rid of my highlights and she suggested a different method and I am absolutely amazed with the results. It's exactly what I wanted!
