Katherine is absolutely incredible, I don’t trust another soul with my hair. She is not just an absolute genius with scissors, she’s also invested in teaching her clients about their hair. I learn something every time I see her and walk away with a haircut that lasts for 6+ months!

I literally can’t find the words to express how transformative my appointment with Katherine was. She is more than a hair stylist, and more than an artist - she is a true craftsman. For the first time in my life, I enjoyed a hair salon appointment. I have never liked my hair, its texture, colour, etc, and I never knew what to do with it. I have dreaded every hair appointment I have ever made and I would always leave disappointed - either because I had not given the stylist enough information (because I was clueless) or because the stylist didn’t listen to my ideas, and/or respect them. I spent over two hours with Katherine and it was a complete joy. I left feeling happy and confident, and more importantly, excited. Excited to finally have good hair. I will never go anywhere else. Thank you Katherine.

I LOVED my experience with Katherine!! I went to her for a free consult and appreciated her honesty about what she could do to achieve the look I wanted without damaging it. I am SO, SO HAPPY I decided to get my hair done with her. She was so welcoming and very knowledgeable about hair (she gave me a number of tips to help achieve/maintain healthier hair!). There were even small details she had considered (such as touching up the rest of my hair because I wanted a sharp contrast between light and dark), and I truly appreciate the time, care, and thoughtfulness she had for me throughout my experience with her. The results EXCEEDED my expectations, and I genuinely could not wipe the grin on my face as she finished styling my hair!! I cannot recommend Katherine enough and am so happy with my new look :,)!

Amazing experience! Would give more stars if I could! My first time meeting Katherine was so fun and welcoming. It felt like I was with someone I have known for years. The one on one setting was not awkward at all and she was extremely sweet and inclusive to my boyfriend who tagged along. My hair feels so healthy and she gave helpful tips throughout the appointment. My boyfriend was having a blast and he wasn’t even getting his hair done! Can’t wait to come back and get my hair done again, highly recommend!

For the record, this is the first review I’ve ever written for a business that wasn’t owned by a family member! I’m new to California and have been living in the area for about 5 months. In that time, I’ve gone to 4 hair colorists. I don’t know if it was the hard water, the colorists, the products or a combination of all of the above, but my hair went from shiny and healthy to what looked like a cross between a calico cat and a haystack. I’ve never had dry hair or spotty color in my life and was at a loss for how to get it fixed. Enter Katherine! I found Katherine after searching online. She had the most reviews and they were all 5 stars! Now I know why. Like the other reviewers have stated, Katherine is knowledgeable, personable and talented, but she’s also passionate and curious about hair, which is why she can diagnose the root of your hair issues (pun intended). It took 3 hours of removing build-up and applying the right combination of warm color tones, but Katherine restored my hair to its rich, healthy, shiny, glorious self! I already booked 2 more appointments.

Katherine color-corrected my very long hair that I had been dying black for years. And wow does it finally look natural again, and now my hair matches my skin tone and I feel pretty again. She is so knowledgeable and answered all kinds of questions that no other stylist has ever talked to me about or helped with. I felt empowered after my appointment with her. I will fly across the country to have her take care of my hair. I’m serious!!!

Katherine is by far the most knowledgeable and skilled person who has ever cut my hair. She takes the time to listen to your concerns and answer any and all questions you may have. She is very attentive to the details of your hair and its history. She knows and explains hair science down to the molecular level which is why her techniques and products are exceptionally good. I ended up buying some of them and after a few months my hair is already the healthiest its ever been, and the haircuts she gives are really phenomenal. She gave me exactly what I asked for which was long layers and they turned out great and still look great after 5 months. She even taught me how to best curl my hair. Her work is 100% worth every penny, because during appointments you not only get amazing hair, you get years of professional knowledge and personalized hair care advice. She is also just a lovely person and really kind! I would recommend her to anyone.

I had the best haircut ever! Katherine gave me the haircut I feel like I've always been searching for but never could get quite right. She really listened to what I wanted and gave me such pretty gradual layers. On top of the beautiful haircut she gave me such useful hair care advice and samples! The whole experience was very personalized and enjoyable. Overall, she is such a lovely and friendly person. I highly recommend!

I had the most amazing experience with Katherine yesterday. From the moment we began our consultation, I knew I was in excellent hands. She thoughtfully considered my hair goals and helped me come up with a plan for a beautiful cut and the best highlights I have ever had. Her skill with color is remarkable. Her hard water treatment was total game changer for me. So grateful I found this woman! 10/10 recommend for anyone who seeks expert care and styling combined with education and patience. Also very grateful for the healthy snacks and sparkling water :)

I’m late writing this review (sorry Katherine), but almost three months later and I’m still impressed with my cut. I would say she’s the most professional and skilled individual that has touched my hair. Katherine is a really great communicator and she will work with you to achieve your hair goals. The one thing that impressed me the most about her was how she seeks to teach her clients about proper hair care. I’m kinda obsessed with hair care, so she really reminded me of the the YouTubers I watch; she really knows her stuff! When you go here you’re not just getting a great haircut, you’ll learn how to best treat your hair and love it! I look forward to getting my next cut and would totally recommend to anyone.

Katherine has been cutting my hair for over 7 years! Getting a hair cut has really just turned into hanging out with a friend, laughing, and catching up on life. I’ve referred her to everyone I know- I know she’s top notch at styling and coloring, but also because she’s a just a great human. Katherine excels at business and cares about people and community. 7 years is just the beginning!

Since March of 2020 I've been growing out my hair because of the pandemic and came in to see Katherine this last March because it finally felt like time to go back to normal with short hair. We had a great conversation and she gave me the tools and the confidence to not only get back to normal...but exceed it. My hair is still long and with her help it is glorious! I've found so much new love and joy in my naturally curly hair and it's given me a new chance to express myself in a way I never knew existed. Never thought I would get to this point but I wish I would have gotten to it sooner because I can't imagine NOT being a proud long haired king anymore. Thanks Katherine!!!

I had a wonderful experience with Katherine. My hair is incredibly damaged so I scheduled a consultation for extensions. Katherine was so thoughtful, caring, knowledgeable, and above all honest. She dedicated 2 hours to me and we discussed vitamins, diet, and how to get my hair back to healthy. She identified a plan for hair growth and also found an immediate solution for my hair.

I’ve been going to Kat for over a year now. She’s seriously the best!! We have tons of fun during our appointments and shes super nice and kind. She teaches me a lot about my hair too. She’s super understanding about timeframe and can quickly communicate when things change on either side <3 so long as I’m in Santa Barbara I will be going to her :)

Kat has been cutting my hair for 13 years, I couldnt go anywhere else! She knows hair! Im one of those people who doesn’t know what i want with my hair, but am picky at same time.. Kat knows exactly what to do with it and it always looks amazing, the best part is unlike most hair cuts, her cuts are like fine wine, they age and become better, no need to come back every month, my hair ends up looking better 1-3 months after its cut, she is masterful at layering and texturing my hair so that its really grows into itself. Kat has been the captain to a journey of Mullets that i decided to embark upon over the past year and a half.. which is funny cause she was at first appalled by the idea of cutting my lushes locks off in trade for a mullet.. but now she will admit that it changed her game and now she loves mullets. We have gone from an 80’s mullet to a shorter mullet to now an undercut mullet and every interation gets compliments, saying it is one of the best mullets they have seen.. again this goes back to the layering and Kats ability to transition from different lengths while also dealing with the natural lay of my hair and my catlicks.. Not only is Kat a hair master but shes quite funny! Always a good time sitting in her chair! She also has great advise on how to care for your hair and what products are great for specific hair types.

I went into IV Hair Co seriously depressed about my hair. I've lost a lot of hair due to some health issues and I thought I couldn't wear it down at all anymore. For over a year I'd been wearing it pulled up in a clip because it was the only way to hide how thin and damaged it was. Not only did Katherine get my hair healthy and vibrant enough to wear down, she taught me how to do it myself and gave me samples of every product she used so I could get the same results at home. No hairstylist has ever spent so much time teaching me how to style my own, unique hair. So, guess what? It's been two weeks and I WEAR IT DOWN ALL THE TIME NOW! IV Hair Co is all about "empowering you through your hair" and that's exactly how I would describe my experience with Katherine! She's the stylist I've always wanted. I can't recommend her enough! :)

I have been getting my haircut at Katherine's for about 2 years! I love the fact that every time my haircut is cut and trimmed perfectly and I don't have to wait for my hair to grow back in 1-2 weeks to look "alright"!! Growing up, I have lied to too many hairdressers that they cut my hair well, and I am glad that Katherine allows me to be an honest man with integrity because she mastered her craft with so many years of experience. She knows how to cut Asian hair well, she knows how to texture my top so it's not too heavy and leaves me a lot of room with styling. I walk in every 3 weeks with confidence, knowing that I can trust her with my hair and she will do a great job every time. I stop by every time before I go on a date, job interview, family events and so on. I love the fact that she has a formula sheet for every client, so you don't have to repeat and try to explain how you'd like your hair cut. She knows your hair better than you do trust me. Katherine's communication is fabulous. She makes sure scheduling an appointment is as easy as possible. You will get email and text reminders, super helpful for college students with busy schedules. Not to mention Katherine rocks! Going to IV Hair Company is like a monthly catch up with Katerine, I really enjoy my time there chatting with her. She takes the time to get to know her customer, gives honest and professional advice on styling. Katherine is eager to learn and grow her business. I recently got my hair dyed here, and it looks amazing!! I can tell that my stylist loves her job, and she seemed very inspired about it. She suggested that I get a very subtle layer of purple along with the black I wanted, and it really added a nice touch. The service was wonderful as well. You will be kept updated about appointments, and they're very understanding and amiable.

Cheri is the best! She is so friendly and always takes the time to listen and understand exactly what it is you want.. and executes! This is the second time she's corrected my brassy ombre ends (which keep fading due to previous treatments), turning them into an ashy brown that blended more naturally with my dark brown roots. Her in-depth knowledge of color formulas/reactions/treatment types is very apparent as she talks you through and advises what is best/least damaging to your hair before proceeding - it makes you feel so much more comfortable as she works her magic.

Have been going to Katherine for years--she's very knowledgeable and incredibly personable. Takes a lot of pride in her business. She cuts my long layered hair beautifully every time and in such a way that the grow out process looks nice even after six months. When Katherine hasn't been available, the other stylists have also done a great job.
