I literally walk in and ask Doug to do whatever he wants - that's how much I trust his expertise, and he has never let me down. Thank you for keeping my hair healthy, even with all the crazy colors I've done over the years <3

I spent a lot of time looking for a safe, comfortable place for my kid to get their hair cut. From the first phone call to now, several haircuts in, the salon and especially Sara has been absolutely phenomenal. My kid has felt supported and empowered through the whole process and left feeling positively euphoric over their hair cut. This salon is at the absolute upper range of my budget and pushes out sometimes, but it’s worth every penny to be able to know my kid can be completely comfortable here. Thank you, from the bottom of this mama’s heart.

I'm too nice with reviews. I was being nice for their last "weekend" person, Jeremy- who had issues and would tell me about how he couldn't pay rent on time etc. Meanwhile, he was destroying my hair and would do whatever he wanted to...his signature color in the back (occipital area) and I think that's all he really had. After he left, they didn't alert me and I called to make an appointment..again my bad but I felt bad for him and I would give Jeremy a lot in tip. They told me he wasn't there so they put me with their replacement weekend person. She's nice but just not what I want. I pay a lot of money for my hair and give a lot for tip so I need to move on. My advice would be to be careful if your booking and they pass you to their weekend person...I think it's super rude and I'm not coming back. I'm sick of it and my hair sucks.

I've been going here for 6 years and never had a bad haircut neither a bad time. April really knows what she is doing and the vibe at this place is always chill & friendly. Enjoy going every time.

Today was my first time visiting this salon. I had an AMAZING experience with Kelly and received an awesome haircut and color. The salon is small but feels extremely homey. I will gladly return for years to come!

Both Sara and Jeremy cut my hair over the course of about 18months while I lived in Atlanta. They both are great in quality and professionalism, and the whole salon is very friendly and welcoming. Both were able to recommend products, carrying much of the Devines line. Doug was excellent at handling reschedules for the team, and their reservation/confirmation system is convenient and easy to use. Jeremy was able to provide great recommendations for finding a new salon when I had to move away. J. Sherman Salon and the stylists are a great asset to Atlanta, and specifically Virginia-Highlands. I plan to be back.

Friendly, cute & clean studio with a cool vibe. Best salon I've been to in GA. Sarah was awesome, skilled & very gentle. I showed her pics of the cut I wanted and she delivered. Would definitely recommend.

Awesome local salon with super personalized service and friendly staff! Sara is my stylist and I've worked with her for a year now. She does amazing cuts and color. The business is very friendly to all! Sara works with textured hair and also does wonderful gender-affirming cuts. The entire staff is super wholesome! This is a wonderful local place to get your hair done 💯

No one can cut my hair now except April. When she goes on vacation, I'd rather suffer through a few weeks of lookin' rough than take my chances anywhere else. Best hair stylist in Atlanta.

Doug & his team are great! They really listen and consult before jumping to conclusions about what you want. Best non-brassy blonde I've had in years. Working up the nerve to get some wild color, which he's a master at! Totally recommend any of the stylists here.

Fantastic. Sarah and April were welcoming and wonderful! My hair looks better than it's looked in years. I have long Asian hair, and I was looking for more personality and body. Sarah looked at the pictures I brought in and recreated exactly what I was looking for. I feel awesome and can't wait to try out new styles with my new cut. I'll be back for sure.

I've been going to Doug since he opened his business years ago and he is always able to achieve my hair goals. He will also be realistic with you if your goals might not be achievable and will provide alternative solutions whenever possible. AND he always makes sure you know how to provide perfect aftercare for your hair. Sarah and April are also super friendly and very knowledgeable and fun to chat with. You'll feel like you're visiting your friends when you go get your hair done. :)
