Been going here all my life and every single time I have been, I have received a fantastic haircut! The customer service is also fantastic, Fior will treat you well, have an great chat with you, and then give you a superb cut!! 5/5 stars for the best barber in New York!

Horrible service, called in to check prices and was mistreated over the phone. The receptionist assumed I was a customer that called previously. Said she had no time to talk at all and I could discover prices only after cut. Would not recommend

Receptionist was rude and hung up on me. I was calling for prices of hair cuts and all she could tell me was the cuts were between $55-165 dollars. Do not waste your time here.

I left this salon in tears, and cried for another week. Avoid it. I was trying to grow my hair after a catastrophe that left it badly broken. I was already mentally down, but I needed the tips to be even. I specifically asked her to cut as little as possible and not touch the awful layers. She didn't listen and did the opposite and cut off everything I had grown in 5 long months. She left me with a dated 90s style that I hated. So that was $50 that made my depression worse. Bonus: the whole time she tried to sell me her awful homemade juice!

I haven’t had my hair cut since before the pandemic, and my hair became an unmanageable nightmare. Jaico hair salon was the FIRST place I went when I stepped back outside. The owner always does a great job with the cut, and has helpful tips for managing my hair. This will always be my favorite spot. Never disappoints!

Although we arrived without an appointment, the owner made room for us. Having been there previously, the owner knew us and even our names. It was a tricky haircut, coming from mid-waist to just above shoulders, resulting in a tasteful and smart look. Out of respect for the owner, we will make an appointment next time.

Few years ago I walked into Jaico Hair Salon (owner’s name is Fior) and never went to another salon after that. Fior is a perfectionist when it comes to hair and while her English may not be perfect (thus a negative review on her hanging up on someone likely because she didn’t hear or understand), she is professional and more importantly exceptional in what she does. Her hair salon does not look overdone or super fancy but I have had her do some complicated hairdos for weddings and other functions, and she impresses each time. She is the best hair stylist I have ever encountered which is why I felt compelled to write this review.

Fior is the best in the city. It takes a long time before I trust anyone to cut, style, or color my hair and I trust her completely. I have been to the high end salons and have not been pleased. I have NEVER been let down by Fior at Jaico. It is incredibly affordable, especially for the quality you are getting. She will go out of her way to fit you in when you want to come in. The salon is unassuming, but do not let that deter you.

I called to inquire about Balayage pricing and if they had a stylist familiar with that technique. The lady seemed to not understand what I was saying. So I repeated myself, then she hung up on me. About 2 hrs later I get a call back from a different person. She says " Hi, you called Jaico to find out about Balayage". I said "Yes, but the women I spoke with hung up the phone on me. Therefore, I am no longer interested. I found another salon." She answers. "Okay, I am fine with that and hangs up." Bad experience before I stepped foot in there. So glad I called first !

This salon is a hidden gem. Owner managed and operated. Highly skilled, honest, and hard working. If you want to support a real entrepreneur come here. I’ve been to many places in the neighborhood and Jaico is the best. Going on my second year as her customer. I am very happy to have found this 🌸

Best salon I’ve been to in all of Manhattan. I’ve tried bumble and bumble, drybar, shaggy, really tons of places that other Upper East siders tell me they go to. This is the best one - the workers are downright lovely and so good at what they do (for a much better price than its topnotch competitors). Fior is a badass and will get whatever you need done in a timely fashion and leave you with hair that doesn’t just look great for the night, but is healthy and beautiful for months before you need to go back. I’ve recommended to all my friends and will swear by this place. Love!!!
