From the moment you enter James Griffith Salon you are greeted by lovely, smiling and helpful people. I have been exceedingly fortunate to be a client of Michelle, first in Venice and now at Clark Road for the last 21 years! Awesome cuts and brilliant coloring skills!! Michelle trains the girls and guys and they are all wonderful. Watch the clients leaving the shop and all you can say is “Wow”!!!

My stylist is Stephanie and she is absolutely fantastic. She cuts my hair exactly how I like it, is very knowledgeable, personable, and knows what she is doing. The salon is clean and professional. I can't recommend it, and Stephanie, enough! You won't be disappointed.

I called in the morning and got a same day appointment for 4pm with Whitney. Whitney was absolutely fantastic! She did an awesome job capturing my vision for my haircut and was extremely friendly and personable! Thrilled to say I have officially found my forever stylist with Whitney! Looking forward to my next appointment.

I made a last minute haircut appointment with Jena. This was my first time at JGS Sarasota. Jena did a wonderful job, exceeding what I asked for in a haircut and she gave me a great blowout. I have thick curly hair so I am sometimes unhappy with my blowouts, but she did an amazing job. Jena was super friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back for routine haircuts and blowouts!

My daughter had her hair cut here. I called the day before and they had plenty of times available. Samantha was her stylist and she did a great job. Very pleased with the cut!

2 hours agoNEW I went there twice, looking for the rose color hair that is seen in the first photo. Both times, I walked out with my hair, looking nothing like what I asked for. If it can't be done, then I should be told beforehand. I spent over 200.00 ( both times), and it did not even come close to what I asked for. I am very disappointed. I do not recommend this place or their Venice salon as well Service: Hair coloring

Met Stephanie where I work one night and I knew right away she was a hairdresser. Her hair was perfect! Booked an appointment the next week and I had no idea what I was in for. Sam was her assistant and she shampooed me. This was the best shampoo experience I've ever had. Full on head massage! I sat down with Stephanie for a simple cut and blow out and was blown away! Many compliments on my hair! I'll be back for sure!!

WOW, Thank you Cody for saving my daughters hair. Saturday we went to a different salon and paid $300 to have her hair look like a Galaxy with Black, Blue and Purple. It was a disaster. Cody is a Master at his work and I will continue to trust his talent. Another shout out-He was fully booked and stayed after hours to do her hair so she can get school pictures done next week. I appreciate his work and recommend to anyone wanting vivid colors to go see CODY

I have been going to this salon since February 2021..Yesterday I walked in..after reading sign on door that "STRONGLY ENCOURAGED wearing face mask as Covid precaution.. Today in Sarasota we have surpassed numbers (Delta Variant)of infection and hospitalizations since start of pandemic.. I needed to leave without getting service. Yesterday neither receptionist, staff nor customers were wearing masks..I am a hospital nurse..I am a caregiver for a vulnerable adult (family member) I can not think of any model of practice where this is ok.. indoors, no social distancing, ? You are giving close personal care. No Staff or customer assurance of vaccination status?.. I know this review is uncomfortable..but perhaps you should notify clients that restrictions are totally lifted and to enter at your own risk.. You were doing great through July...? As a business BEST PRACTICES always wins!

I have used this salon for the past 7 or 8 years. in the past year during the pandemic two of my operators left and I had to choose another operator. After a few months with a new operator I received a phone call today from a receptionist or possibly a manager saying that this new operator feels that she is not a good fit for me and she recommends that I transfer to another operator. I cancelled the two appointments that I had previously scheduled.

My whole family has been going to this salon for 5+ years and have had no issue. I started going there for a highlight and every time I’ve gone either they’ve lost my appointment or had to cancel on me.

Noisy and not a very relaxing environment. Not totally crazy about the haircut either. We talked about how my hair is not suited for a Bob, and what do I get??

Been going here for a while. I really like the place they have good clean safe procedures and everybody knows how to cut hair and color it. Nice front desk stuff.
