Lauren was awesome!! I came in with my hair having box red and brown dye even though I’m a natural blonde and she got me back to what I wanted and made me feel great! She is so sweet and did an amazing job on my hair!

A huge thank you to the patient and helpful hairdresser (and her just as amazing manager) for fixing my hair today. You guys not only went above and beyond to restore my hair color but you also gave me a break on cost and a free treatment as if to make up for another salon’s mistakes. You guys were incredible and generous and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

I was recommended to Salome for textured hair and I have no idea why. From the moment I walked in, I felt like she didn’t want to do my hair. All I asked for was the ultimate blow out which includes a wash and a shampoo. She asked “when’s the last time you detangled it?” Ummm isn’t that what I’m paying you to do?! Then she proceeds to say she can’t do it. Complete waste of time. If you are AA please go to Samantha. I don’t know how Salome is considered a stylist if she can’t do the basics.

This salon’s front desk is awful. It never fails that they don’t answer the phone and when they do, it’s with attitude. They talk to you as if you’re the problem. No wonder JCP is losing business. Do better.

"I recently visited this hair salon and had the pleasure of having Darling as my hairstylist. The salon had a comfortable and clean atmosphere which immediately made me feel welcome. Darlene was very friendly and attentive, she listened to what I wanted and offered her professional advice. The end result was amazing! My hair looked and felt fantastic, and I received so many compliments from friends and family. I am very pleased with the service I received at this salon and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great hairstyling experience. I have been highlighting my hair for the past 12 years and have NEVER found someone to actually do what the picture looks like.. UNTIL NOW! Darlene Villasana is where it’s at!! My mom has been going to JCP Salon for years now and I was ALWAYS skeptical. Welp.. mom gifted me a salon appointment &&& I am so THANKFUL she did or I would have never found Darlene!! Not only did she give me EXACTLY what the picture looked like but she talked me through it all and guided me in the right direction to grow out my hair as it takes so much to keep up BLONDE HAIR! Now let me tell you I’m a natural BRUNETTE who want to be PLATINUM BLONDE… which DOESN’T come easy and definitely NOT in one sitting! It takes time, patients, management, product and most of all consistency! She has literally done what no other stylist could do in the past 12 years of coloring my hair! Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything and I’ll see you in 2 weeks for my conditioning treatments!!

I have been using Sylvia since 1998. She now does my daughter's hair. 17 years for my daughter. I have followed Sylvia all over Austin. She really seems happy working at the salon. Maybe tossing in some discounts on products would be AWESOME. I always spend $300+ when I color my hair. I have awful hair. And will never trust our hair to anyone else.

I just got my hair done recently by Darlene Villasana and heard she left jcpenney to go to Ulta, just next door. Glad she's staying in the area! She does a great job on my hair!

Salome was so great!! I am so happy with how she took care of my curls and revived them. She knew what I wanted before I even knew what I wanted. Will definitely make myself a regular.

Wish I could rate 0 stars! Don't waste your time. Your stylist will arrive 20 minutes after your scheduled appointment and will literally take walk ins BEFORE taking care of actual scheduled appointments. No apologies or anything. I used to love it here but now it is soo unprofessional, would never recommend this place to anyone again and definitely wouldn't recommend making an actual appointment

been seeing gloria for several years here and she's fantastic! i always get compliments on my haircuts. very outgoing, kind, and passionate about what she does. she's also done foilyage for a family member of mine and we all love the results. great stylist!

Back at the beginning of the year, I arrived at the salon as a walk-in customer. The stars were aligned for me, for that day I met forever stylist, Darlene Villasana! I sat in her chair, embarrassed to show her the mess of colors in my hair (dyed at home by myself). I shared with her my goal and she immediately came up with a solution to correct my hair and reach my color over several visits, as to not damage my hair. I felt at ease, knowing I was in good hands! So right then and there, my relationship began with the most awesome stylist at the salon! We've spent hours together...she always made sure I was comfortable, going above and beyond, always explaining to me the hair process, offering me snacks, a nail file when I broke my nail and most importantly....her friendship! We hit it off immediately (we LOVE cats!) She has the most positive, upbeat attitude! At the end of my appointments, I always feel beautiful and happy! Darlene truly cares for her customers. :) I would highly recommend her to everyone!

Darlene did an amazing job with my hair! I showed her a picture of a pixie cut I wanted and she did it exactly how the picture showed. She was very accommodating and answered all my questions about my hair. I will most definitely be coming back to her in the near future!

Made a last minute appointment here to fit in my schedule, and was very happy walking out. I’ve been to big fancy salons deeper in Austin before and paid well over $100 for a hair cut and some styling. The cost is much more affordable here (halved what I’m used to), and I got the same quality experience if not better. Although I didn’t make a good impression showing up 14 minutes late to my appointment, the hair stylist still took me in and did a fantastic job. I’ve always been unsure of what styles I want for my hair, or what would look best, but this stylist sat me down and was able to interpret my “I would like my split ends cut and face framed please?” Into exactly what I never even knew I needed. I had the pleasure of having Darlene V., a master hairstylist, as my stylist today (and believe me, she’ll be seeing me again). She not only gave me insight to what cuts best suit my hair, what everyday things I’m doing that are damaging my hair, but also personally walked me to go get the products I liked that she had used. Darlene was very personable and her skill in styling is top notch. She’s a no BS kind of person and was very clear and honest with everything she said. I highly recommend her if you might be struggling to find that final look for yourself, or if you’re just as clueless with hair as I am.

Very impressive place, friendly environment. I walked in "lost" with my current hair style. Darlene one of the stylists welcomed me and fit me into her schedule helping me and took extra time to make sure I was comfortable, satisfied and confident with my new look before I left. I was not pressured to buy extra items or charged for extra services I paid for what I was promised and I I will definitely will be going back here. She went above and beyond thank you Darlene!

Where should I begin... I've never had a stylist like the one I was so blessed to meet that day and her names Darlene. OMG what a wonderful women! She not only corrected and saved my hair from years of mistakes i've done to it but she had such a presence that seemed like I was visiting a good friend. We're cracking jokes talking about life and what in the heck did I do to my hair.!?. Darlene has so much knowledge and she's so genuine that you know she's not lying to you she tells the truth and oh boy is she blunt which I appreciate I don't have tome for BS these days. I highly highly recommend Darlene to be your new stylist because she'll be mine forever! Thank you Darlene for taking care of me and only making sure I leave the salon 100% satisfied.

I have been going to JC Penney for my haircuts for over 11 years and always had great service. I live in Dallas and drive in to get my hair cut and visit my family. I made an appointment and Darlene was the one that was in today - SHE IS FANTASTIC! I showed Darlene a picture and she cut it just like it - rather even better. I love it. I will use Darlene going forward.
