Columbiana Center JC Penny, desperately needed a cut (and fix) since I had a horrible experience on a cruise getting a hair cut in June 2023. I made a same day appt online and wasn’t sure what to expect because I’ve never had my hair cut here. I saw Aliyah and she pretty much fixed me up better than before. I have long wavy hair (frizzy on humid/wet days!) Aliyah cut off several inches and now it’s much much better. Would definitely go see her again. Thanks.

I was surprised with childcare for the day, and was trying to find someone that would take me as a walk in. Aneshea, who was not even supposed to be there at the time and had a no-show client and could have gone home, stayed and took me as a walk in and gave me a fabulous cut and style.

I was traveling to Columbia for an event. I made an appointment one week in advance to have my hair done, i also called three days before, to confirm the appointment. I went to the salon for the appointment, just hours before my event, and the salon was closed due to plumbing issues. They did not call me to cancel. I had to scramble to find another salon to do my hair at the last minute. Very unprofessional! I definitely would not recommend this salon.

If I could give it a 0 I would. I will never go back to this salon. Dre is HORRIBLE and extremely unprofessional. I had a 3pm appointment to which I arrived at 2:50pm. He came up front about 3:20 to let me know he was going to fit me in. How is that when I had an appointment! I was not a walk in. I waited for an hour without even having my hair started. Still up front I left. As I was driving I decided to call and the stylist on the phone let me know that he wasn't in the salon as he had to go out and get color since he messed up someone's color. I asked to speak to the manager apparently there isn't one since she's on leave right now. Someone owes me for my wasted time and gas since I drove 30 minutes to literally sit in the lobby and not be attended to.

This store seems like it's going out of business and it's in the mall. Went to see the shoes, there really are none. Mens clothes was really limited.

After a long hiatus I returned to this salon for a rinse (color), trim, and style. Dre was professional, warm, and engaging. Most importantly, he listened to what I envisioned the end result to be and I am thrilled with the outcome!! Thank you Dre!!!

I had missed my normal salon appointment and couldn’t wait a few more months for a cut, so I made an appointment with JC Penny salon online the night before. My appointment was at 2:00 and my daughters was at 2:30, with two different stylists. We arrived a few minutes early and waited for 10 minutes at the front desk before being greeted. No big deal in the scheme of things. We sat down and waited. The stylist took my daughter back on time but had to ask someone how to cut her hair. She then went back for a wash and didn’t come back out for over 45 minutes. They did something to her hair and left her under the dryer forever. It didn’t even dry. She then got a rinse on her hair and moved to her chair for a cut. She again, had to get directions on how to cut it. It took from 2:30 until after 4pm for one trim and it didn’t turn out how she wanted!!! To make it worse, I was not even asked to come back to get my hair cut until after 3:30pm. That’s over an hour after my appointment. The girl was nice about it but seriously…. No apology or discount on my daughter. We will not be returning and we suggest you don’t waste your time there.

I tried this salon 9/16/2922. All of the staff were friendly, the salon was clean and organized. My hair stylist, Aneshia Allen, was friendly, kind, patient and very talented. They have a lot of colors to choose from, too. I will definitely be using this salon

I've been here twice and both times I couldn't have been happier. I originally came here after I had made them or appointments with one of the " high class salons" and they kept canceling my appointments without any warning. I finally made an appointment at the salon at JCPenney, to be honest, out of desperation. But my first appointment was wonderful. When it was time for another appointment I came back. There was a slight snafu with my scheduling but once that was cleared up I couldn't have been happier with my hair. I know a lot of people don't like salons in stores, and I get that, but give them a try. They took wonderful care of my hair and taught me quite a bit about how to keep it looking good.

Leah did my daughter’s hair this past weekend and she was amazing!! She called me and talked me though how to take care of it AND said I could call and speak with her anytime I needed help!! She has gone above AND beyond for my teenage daughter and her NATURAL hair AND CONFIDENCE has changed for the better!!! Thank you Leah!!!! For being amazing!!

Worst experience ever in scheduling an appointment. I booked on line and arrived on time only to be told stylist was overbooked and someone else could do my hair in 30 minutes. I declined to wait that long. Tried to give this salon a chance, but I will never, ever go there again. Ruined my entire plans for the day.

Sarah is great!! She spent so much time with me and really made the salon experience fabulous. She is so sweet and really made sure that I was happy with the process and results of my haircut. Salon is clean and private, great place!

This is the worst salon that I have ever attended. the stylist left me in the shampoo area for 47 minutes . No one checked on me at all during that time. She told me that she would be back in 6 minutes. Finally the manager asked if she could help me . I was so ready to leave . I even tried to rinse the 20minute treatment out of my hair because the stylist left it in for 1 hour and 17 minutes. The manager tried to finish the hair style . The result was terrible. They were ghetto and very unprofessional. The stylist did not even care. I would never recommend this salon , not even to a dog.

I got my root touchup from Rayne! She was awesome very friendly and very knowledgeable! I was treated very nicely she listened to all of my concerns about my dry brittle hair! She did a great job with coloring my hair my hair felt soft and silky!

I took my 87 year old mother in for a perm after being quoted $60.00 The stylist did not follow my instructions for perm rod size and had to stop when she was half finished wrapping and rewrap it making the entire process take 3 and a half hours instead of an hour and a half like other salons. She literally soaked my mom, her shirt and pants! Then the bill was $80. Instead of $60. because the stylist trimmed her hair, but did not discuss that or the fact there was going to be a $20 price increase. My mom was in tears when we got her home because she was exhausted ( and soaked) When I talked to the manager they refused any compensation

Poor management. Stylist will just quit with no notice or follow up from the salon. It's a shame that people do not take pride in what they do. They are only focused on the money and not customer services. I should have known my patronage at this salon would not last long because stylist use this place like a "revolving door". Here today, gone tomorrow. There is no commitment through management which leads to no commitment from the stylist.

We went over to JCPENNEY today on Harbison BlV in Irmo.My husband was looking a suite and no one offered to help us .I know the cashier saw us we looked for about 20 minutes. I will be going back to Orangeburg S.C. We left and went to Belk.

I sat waiting for someone to greet me, for 20 mintues and no one greeted me. Worst thing is I could hear them talking in the back about how slow of a day it is. Horrible service.

I paid $130 for all over color, cut & style, and a mani-pedi after a $20 coupon. My color is nice, but the cut needs to be fixed and there was no style. It looked like I air dried it after getting out of the shower. You can't tell a pedicure has ever been done on my feet. And my nails. My poor poor nails. They are misshapen and discolored due to the nail file she used. The mani-pedi was very painful as well. The eyebrow threading was the best in Columbia, SC. The eyebrow threading was also the most expensive in Columbia, coming to $18 with 20% tip. I posted pictures. The pedicure is too embarrassing to even post. My toenails looked better before the $37 "pedicure."
