Do not go here if you have ANY texture to your hair. Had the worst experience. I was in town and short on time, just wanted a quick blowout. Not only did the girl not know how to do a simple blowout, they made me feel absolutely bad about my hair in an effort to try to push products. I get my hair blow dried about once a month and never have an issue (usually takes 30 min), the stylist was obviously new (which is ok) but kept ripping my hair out and tapping the brush into my hair, getting it tangled and creating more and more frizz. Her supervisor saw what was going on and came over to try to assist, then continuously commented on how my hair is in awful condition, is full of breakage (it's not) and I should buy product after product. It took them over an hour to leave me with a frizzy mess. She recommended I get a cut and when I told her no thank you as I had just had a cut a month prior, she laughed in an extremely condescending way. The following week I went to a different salon as I was feeling paranoid about the condition of my hair and the hairdresser complimented the health of it and all of my new growth (what they confused for breakage).... they have no idea what they are doing and are incredibly unprofessional. Please save yourself the trauma.

Do not go here. We got my granddaughter's hair cut here. The cut was so choppy....unfortunately, I did not notice until we left. We asked for a cut and to thin it out. The stylist, Liz has no clue how to thin out or give layers. Will NEVER go back! JcPenney used to have quality hair stylists....not anymore!

I saw Linda who is extremely talented!!! I haven’t been this happy with a haircut for years!!😀 Linda cut my hair exactly the way I wanted it. She did a wonderful job!!! I will be booking another haircut appointment with the lovely Linda - - a pleasure to talk to and be with!! I am SO happy I found her!!!💖

Never again! I don’t recommend this place. Unethical staff members or they don’t know what they are doing! I always wash my hair at home & go to JCP Salon on 9100 N Skyview ave KC, MO 64154 for: -BLOW DRY & IRONWORKS. -Many stylists did my hair, Nasima, Angel, Will… -All of them charge different prices $45.00-$85.00 When I asked why I am being charged different amount each time for the same work (blow dry & ironworks), Ashley who checked me out & stated she the manger made several confusing statements: your stylist is a master stylist, they are entering the blow dry & iron works in the system as silk press…. They can charge more if they enter it as a silk press silk press or other things when I’m always getting blow dry & iron works?! I am not unreasonable, and if someone says your hair is long or thick, I am going to charge you $10.00 more, I understand that but when you’re charging for a work you haven’t done, it is UNETHICAL and illegal.

Do NOT go here. My stylist arrived 18 minutes and that should have been my first sign. She didn’t say one word to me until we were two hours in. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and what I got was nothing close. Mind you I asked her if it is something she could do. She failed. Literally looks like a orange mop on my head. Was super slow worker and then added a 15 dollar charge because I had “long hair” my hair is not even passed my shoulders!!!!!! Will never return to the nasty environment.

The hours on Google (specifically for the salon) say that they are open until 9 pm. I went in a couple minutes before 8 pm and even asked up front if the salon was still open just in case. They confirmed that the salon was open so I walked back there and when the lady asked if there was something she could help me with. As I was telling her that I was there to get a hair cut she barked at me that they are closed. I was a bit taken back & confused because both online and those upfront had said the salon was still open so when I asked, "I thought you were open until 9" she snapped at me again that she "gets off at 8 and I will have to come back & be earlier next time." I get it, we're all tired at the end of the day. I've been having to pull 12 hr days at my job lately & I have an hour commute each way. That's why I was getting there so late. I wanted to get my hair spruced up before my SO gets back from his military deployment tomorrow but haven't been able to get to a salon before they closed recently. I also understand that hours online might be wrong and other employees mistaken. Things happen but that doesn't mean you have to be downright rude about it. I love the store but I highly doubt if I'll ever go back to the salon here.

I was told that my shampoo and dry would cost me $22. When I checked out, the price was an additional $15 because my hair is long. I should have been told about the upcharge before they did my hair! My regular stylist at Look After Hair Company only charges $10 for a shampoo and dry. I feel that I was taken advantage of because I am a senior citizen and I'm from out of towm.

I tried to stay positive about my experience, despite the long wait to be initially helped and the even longer wait to be taken back (with absolutely no phone signal in that cave of a store and no wifi). I tried to be understanding of the fact that the woman before me had very long hair. I ignored the fact that Erica was distracted by her phone, and I laughed off her apologies. I pretended I was running out of time when she complained about not getting to eat because of my appointment, and so I refused the blow dry service. I even blamed myself for the fact that I didn't notice until I got home that I didn't receive that cut I wanted. Two days later, I've just realized that she completely missed some hair at the nape of my neck. When she trimmed my undercut, she didn't do the one thing a stylist should always do with short cuts: clean up the edge of the hairline. I'm livid. It's 10:30 at night and I have to have my husband use scissors to trim the back of my neck before I have to work tomorrow. Needless to say, I don't think I'll be returning.

Noxema (sp?) did a great job. I showed her pictures of some ideas I liked for eyebrow, cut and color. She helped me choose what would look good for me and I was really happy with the results.
