I’ve been coming here for my haircuts for a few years and really enjoy the experience—it’s a step up from Great Clips but still affordable. However, I’m frustrated with the scheduling. Both I and my guest have had to wait several times despite having appointments. The first time was during graduation weekend, which I understand is busy, so I scheduled in advance. The receptionist told me my stylist would be with me soon, but I ended up waiting 30-45 minutes. My husband has had similar experiences, often waiting around the same amount of time, even with a scheduled appointment. While I don’t appreciate the wait, Presley is by far my favorite stylist at this location. She’s very gentle and always makes me look and feel great. I’d highly recommend her to anyone!

The worst haircut I’ve ever gotten. I showed Lindsay a picture of what I wanted and she cut my hair 5 inches shorter than the picture and didn’t even come close to shaping it like the picture. My hair should be about shoulder length and it’s basically at my jaw line like a bob. Maybe if she stopped talking so much and paid attention she would have cut my hair correctly. I wouldn’t recommend Lindsay mays to cut a rats hair. Am I supposed to guess where to contact this owner?

My mom went to get her hair cut here. She showed the woman who was younger, 3 photos of similar styles she was choosing between, telling the hairdresser to choose which would be best. They struggled over color matching my natural hair color as it is a light mousy brown with natural grey, one other person she had to ask said my hair was blonde when it’s not! After paying 142.00$ I came out with my hair brown.. color ok but the cut and style no where even close to what I wanted. She put so much product in my hair trying to fix her screw up that I had to come home directly after and rewash and style my hair. HIGHLY do not recommend and won’t be coming back.

Did my hair color turn out so bad, they try to fix 3 times till can't able to match the shade it turn out so orange I spend around 5 hrs there with full of disappointment. And waste of money.

Sophie did an amazing job on my hair! I have A TON of hair and wanted to go from brunette to dimensional blonde so it was quite a job but it turned out amazingly and I’m so grateful.

I absolutely love N’Dea Davis’s work! She does amazing hair coloring and cutting. I finally got the nerve to chop off my hair and get it colored and she made it so fun! She’s also super good at waxing eyebrows! She’s the only one I trust with my eyebrows. I highly recommend N’Dea at JCPenneys!!!

If I could give this salon zero stars for an eyebrow wax, I would. I discussed with the stylist that I just wanted her to “clean up” my eyebrows. I specifically said do not go thin. After her first strip she expressed she had gotten a lot of hair out. And when I tell you I have almost no eyebrow left, I mean it. Absolute worst eyebrow wax I have ever gotten. The other staff have excellent customer service and were very kind. Customer service only goes so far though when the service paid for is absolutely awful.

Chloe was great as far as being sweet and the color came out good but it wasn't what my daughter wanted at all, and she cut off way to much of my daughter's hair, way more then either my daughter or myself specified. When we got home she cried all night and this was her Christmas present so my heart is broken for her. Her hair was to her waist, she wanted it cut to below her breast, but it was cut to below her shoulders. I understand she had a late appointment but not only was the color not what she wanted but half her hair is gone. Very dissatisfied. Keep in mind we paid over $100 ridiculous

I had my hair cut and it was absolutely wonderful. Friendly hairdressers who treat you with respect and overwhelming kindness. Such a great haircut and experience. Loved every minute and even got to see some fantastic pictures of New York that Joan took while on vacation. I felt like family while I was there. Thank you ladies for a wonderful afternoon.

My sister and I visited this salon for an eye brow wax today. After I had my eye brows down, I looked in the mirror and noticed that they were not perfect, but figured I would just touch them up at home. When we were finished, we paid and tipped as normal. The price was well above normal for our area. When we left and walked around the store, we noticed our eye brows definitely did not look like sisters, but distant cousins... we went back within 30 minutes and were given the excuse that our eyes were not even... and that this is why they were not done correctly. At no point should the evenness of our eyes warrant the width of one eye brow being twice as wide as the other... They also do not use new sticks when dipping into the wax which is a health hazard. When I mentioned that, I was told the wax is hot enough to kill bacteria and that this is how the employees are trained... not true at all. Very disappointed in the service - ESPECIALLY since they are among the most expensive in lynchburg...

My best friend and I both go here to a girl named Raven that has done our hair and our eyebrows and she is amazing! I’m more conservative with natural color and basically just get my eyebrows cleaned up a bit. However my best friend loves to play with bright colors and whatever the case maybe Raven always does a wonderful job. Prices always seem to be very reasonable as well. Haven’t had a bad experience with her but I can’t speak on the other stylist there.

Everyone ask for Mickie!! She does an amazing job with my hair and my husbands hair. She also waxes my eyebrows...she's amazing!! I have seen her work in hair coloring as well...she is awesome!!A+++++ for sure!

I'm so, so, so disappointed. I found a stylist that I liked and she did great in April. It took me until now to be able to match schedules up. I told her repeatedly that I wanted it trimmed, shaped up, and all of my dead ends off. I also had a treatment done on my hair. She asked again how I wanted it and I told her, and told her it hadn't been touched since April. Once finished, I could have held what she cut in the palm of my hand... And have room to spare. My layers were not touched at all, just the tips, and I'm not sure she did all of them. I could have done that! My brows do look amazing, but that haircut cost $22. Mind you, my hair is a third of the way down my back. I spent $54 on today and I am madder than it is wet outside. I will NOT be going back.

There are some great stylists that have come from the JCPenney salon. Totally recommend Shannon. However, store manager is very unfriendly and micromanages the store.
